What a good amalgamation of Poetry and Science . Your intellectual prowess is undeniable . Pakistan is proud of you. I request everyone Pls. Handle. with care this lady. Kudos ! God Bless Pakistan .
You make me so proud of being a Lahori, you make me proud of the beauty of our poets, and you make me proud of the knowledge you have acquired and your understanding of life. I would be honoured to meet you the next time you come to Lahore.
This address, for sure, deserved a much bigger audience though I wouldn't have expected their spontaneous approbation for Dr. Azra Raza. I guess, this explains the impoverished state of our collective intellect. I doubt anyone could have made a stronger impact than this scholar in synthesizing the thoughts of Iqbal, Ghalib, Faiz, and Bhullay Shah, in particular, to define faqiri in both existential and spiritual terms. Further, the way the entire talk was structured was simply superb. For a topic of this nature, one needs to develop the context in a well-graduated way; and this was done remarkably by Dr. Raza. This is a must-watch for all who have a reverence and affinity for the subject. Absolutely mesmerizing!!!
It is such a rare treat to hear this intellectualized explanation of what spirituality means...ab hour flew by. Simply mesmerizing. Deep gratitude to Dr Raza for sharing her true wealth of knowledge and wisdom.
Thanks a million Doc Sahiba for such a wonderful talk. What took me so long to find this” گوھر”. It’s a treat listing to you. Lots of respect from Lahore
What a tremendous story-teller! Spell-binding! Infinite energy, depth, and vitality in her recitation of Ghalib and Faiz and Iqbal. Learnt about Faquiri.
I m in love with the thoughts of this woman. Although she lost her husband but look at her smile which is larger than life. She is always high in spirits.
Wow. Dr. Azra Raza is amazing, besides being very intelligent, she is mesmerizing with incredible brilliance and simplicity. May Allah bless you with all the best
My weekend started with your this address... I have so much family engagement, so watched it in 2 sittings. I really impressed the way you had connected so many dots through your mental stability. You grasped my attention when you had narrated the story of driver. Exactly, I keep on enjoy my time and space, where I feel connection and I start talking to myself. Once I related this to my elder brother, he responded," Khudkalami insan ko Sirat e Mustakeem pe dal deti he." I asked, Hpw? He responded, we can't tell a lie while speaking to ourself... With love and respect.
What a tribute to the great city Lahore and the explanation of the mysteries of life.. Such learned address have been heard by me after a long time.what a connect with poetry....simply mesmerizing....will come back to this classic lecture again and again.
Eye opener what a passionate way to deliver, after listening to you , I had to sit for a long time to digest it and I kept recalling . Impressed with her Intellect . I wish we hear more of you on same theme .

Being a Lahori since generations past surrounded by its glamour we become immune to its presence ..need an outsider tosee it & make us realise the richness thereof .
A very elegant poetic rendition of the history of Lahore city and its culture. with tributes to Bulleh Shah, Iqbal, Ghalib and Faiz, etc. Thank you Dr. Azra Raza!
after watching you speak on science and Urdu poetry, ( the poem of long bahar) I am mesmerised and now I have to force or bribe my family members and every friend and acquaintance to listen to you.
Bohat khoob! I am cousin brother of Tina Sani who sings Faiz. I have WhatsApp (ed) this link of your talk to her. After hearing you, I feel so enlightened. During your talk I laughed and credit both. You are so articulate and inspirational, wish I could ever listen to you live. You are one of the great intellectuals of our time. Lots of duas and good wishes your way.
Pakistan has finally succeeded in producing two priceless gems: dr Azra and dr Arifa Zahra. As an ex-Muslim and ex-Indian, I feel jealous of Pakistan today.
AlhamduhlilAllah hirRabilA'alameen very knowledgeable and precise talk sensationally practically theoretically Spiritually verbally gracefully shared the beautiful topic the subject of Faqueeri and qalandari Al Fateha for All the Fuqarah and Soofia Ajmaeen

And may I permitted to say with my all humbleness that this is nothing but an arrogant and stubborn attitude of lahoris in a psyche of self proclaimed proud for their selves not admiring others at any scale infact what ayaz wrote to Mehmood brings more profound meaning than the driver told in Punjabi pointing out the target of happiness and sadness which looks indecent compare to what ayaz said without targeting any tangible yet extrapolated it to the canvas of the reality of human life, my friendly sincerely humble request to the people of Lahore that please show a big heart and mind to admit others and don't live in a self inclined self admired psychology you may be good to many attributes yet are in paucity to many more as is true for all of us!!
Just look at her selection of poetry. Starting from Mohammed Baksh, Buleh Shah along with Faiz, Ghalib andIqbal. If you look at Pakistan where Mullahs never get more than ten percent. I started watching and finished till end. I shared with my friends.

A key note speaker giving her speech in English in an Urdu Conference. Really!!! Unless she is not fluent to speak in Urdu. I believe this is generally a fashion to speak in English or half English and half Urdu even in most Pakistani TV shows. now a days. Of course we cannot bring bak the like of Anwer Maqsood and Mooen Akhtar.
Unfortunately, you also have written your comment in English. And failed completely to get the message from the lecture. The reason being you were just focusing on words not meaning.
@@malikwaqar9257 Yes. i wrote my comments in English as 90% of the social media communicates in English. In addition, I am not the key note speaker she is. Regarding focusing on words and meaning; I believe they go hand-in-hand. You first hear the words and then grasp the meaning which I believe I surely did. Would you conduct a Mushaira and read the translation of Ghalib, Iqbal or other Adeeb or Shayer Kalam in English? I bet the whole audience at that meeting knew or understand Urdu very well.
