Kayak Fishing for Bass in Clear Water Gravel Pit

  • I had a few hours free, so I went fun fishing at a local reclaimed gravel pit. It is a gorgeous place with clear water and some big fish... this day I only found dinks but had a great, relaxing afternoon! I wanted to practice grass fishing for the BKFT/KBF Lake Erie Harbors tournament coming up in July, but the grass has not grown up here like I remember, so I switched to practicing finesse fishing, and threw a Strike King Bitsy Bug jig and a texas rigged Senko. It was cool to fish with no tournament pressure, but I can't wait for this weekend... I get a Cincinnati Kayak Fishing tournament at Brookville, Indiana, and a Buckeye Kayak Fishing tournament at Senecaville, Ohio. Whoo hoo... more fishing! :)
    Looking to start kayak fishing or just paddling for fun? Check out Strictly Sail & Kayak in Cincinnati, they are a big supporter of our local kayak bass fishing trails and have a great selection of kayaks and sailboats and amazing people ready to help you get out on the water!

    Glad to see you fun fishing this time. When you find that the bass are in the upper water column getting your worm, try a wacky-rigged worm. With that clear water, the big ones can see it and will come up to it. They are deadly on clear water. There's something about a wacky worm the fish can't resist. Good luck with your next tournament!

      @@wyattearp113 The loon is an awesome little paddle kayak! It wasn’t ideal for fishing, though, a pedal kayak work much better for that!

    What camera mount is that? I like the camera angle! 👌🏽

      That is the YakAttack Boomstick Pro. Honestly, I wish it had more joints for more angle options, but it works!

    Could you respond on hobie lynx, pros and con

    • @GirlGoneFishing
      @GirlGoneFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty much everything about the Lynx is a pro for me... it is lightweight, stable, agile, maneuverable, comfortable, easy to store and transport, and fun! The only con that I've found is that because of the materials and design, the hull doesn't withstand impacts, so it is not the best boat to beat up on a shallow rocky river. Hoping with the second generation they put on a keel guard or something more tough to protect the hull. Every other situation I've put my Lynx in, it has exceeded my expectations!

      Sorry, no, it is private for residents and their guests. But if you search Google Earth, you can find lots of public gravel pits to fish!
