I appreciate this video so much, very hard to find disassembly videos for my model MX535, it was almost identical except the left side was two parts instead of one, it was still those hooks though they were much harder to remove. For the plug that you had to butcher to remove, I just used some needle nose pliers and it popped right off without any issue, just be sure to grab the plug and not the socket by accident. Once I finished your videos, took me a while to figure out you could take the whole assembly out so that I could see the bottom where the paper feeder wasn't working. Found the issue was a gear with 3 missing pegs so I'll create a new gear tomorrow with epoxy and see if I can remember how to put it all back together again.
very glad it helped, sound like very good plan indeed! Sometimes I take pictures when I take something new apart this helps really a lot :D Good luck and fun with your repair !
@@FixItAMIGO Although I fixed the gear, I unfortunately pulled on the ribbon cable to the print head, and I think this disconnected something. I couldn't figure out how to get into the print head to reconnect/check the ribbon cable, so unfortunately gave up. It's sitting in my garage as "spares" for now :)
From Randburg sunny South Africa! It helped a lot and I love anything made by Germans- precise and perfect. BUT ...[as with Ken ] I need a Part 3 for a Pixma 394/395 to get beyond this end point to get at the actual feeder mechanism! Not yet found a video that shows me that! Well done and thank you so far.
I have an MX452, which is very similar. This was very helpful in locating the clips that hold it together, so that I could get to the feed rollers to clean them. Thank you.
Thaks for update :) I like those printers but you really need to know how open them else you break half off it. I am glad it worked out for you and that video was a good guide. Cheers !
Hello. Is it still possible to repair the plug that we need to butcher? Cause it came off. 😢 Is it a very important piece? Or can I just leave it broken?
you mean those snap things, if they break its not a huge deal. Some printers I never put the whole bodywork back on because I often repaired them so I did not bother to put everything back on.
Thnx for the great video. I have a similar model which is mx455 and i wish to repair its paper feeding roll which can be reachable if i can remove the bottom cover. How can I remove it and contact this single feeder roller?
hi great video I have the pixma MX532 i have to get to the paper guide track where you feed the paper, the track is jammed by a bead that is lodged, is there a way that I can access the bottom panel without removing the whole of the printer?
you probably have tried this already but on the back of the printer usually you have an opening, you open it leave it open and restart printer few times usually that piece of paper goes out through that opening. If that does not work, you probably need to open the whole thing.
thanks for your comment and the sub, I have finally 1k lol ! I will have to check when I have time but I will try, at the moment I have lots of work and doing lots of overtime so not much free hours. But I will try on 25th.
I have the same problem! Any luck? Also have you seen the sponge fix if it's just roller pressure and cheap spring that's the problem. But you have to get at it through the bottom.
You perfectly right and not much workspace either, although when angry. I can pick it up and shake it. lol No that I have ever done it, I find that sweet talk works better, you know . .. 60% of the time it works all the time, still better results than with my gf heheh
And yes that part I would try to just go for it because it doesn't look that difficult I just don't want to go in blind and there be something I was supposed to do first and have it break.
Came here looking how to remove a part of the paper which was torn when i removed a jammed paper. I haven't gone to the extent of dismantling my priinter yet. 😨

the spring on the feeder roller has become weak so my printer not taking papper do you have a fix for this?? but i own MX540 but they seam the same??
Martin did you find a fix for this? The sponge fix on other videos sounds good but requires taking the bottom panel off. Thanks!
@@annewilliams5206 I fixed the feed issue but when putting it back together it comes up with an error, not as easy to repair them
Hello Martin, thank you for taking the time to reply. A bit of built in obsolescence I fear…
Hi there! May ask if you can record a video on replacing the pickup roller? Thank you! Subbed!
Congratulations on the 1k sub! 😁

Some printers are more complicated than a car! Seriously!

Very good
vielen danke
Immer gerne!
does anyone know how to take off the glass part that is literally the only part I need to clean now but no videos I have found have shown it :(((((
hi what do you mean by glass part, the scanner?
Oh like the glass where it scans the paper where that little machine is. (Sorry I don't really know what it's called)
And yes that part I would try to just go for it because it doesn't look that difficult I just don't want to go in blind and there be something I was supposed to do first and have it break.

in the back you can open a compartment, open it then turn of and on printer few times see if paper will fall out there!
