- We're taking an updated look at my Sega Dreamcast collection.
It's been 11 years since the last time I filmed my Sega Dreamcast collection. This is also the 700th video that I've uploaded on to my channel.
The Sega Dreamcast had some amazing titles released for it. I've been fan of the Sega Dreamcast since it launched back on 9-99-99.

The Sega Dreamcast was definitely awesome and I agree that "The Legend will never die" I appreciate you checking out my updated Sega Dreamcast collection. I've had a lot of fun going through and sharing my various collections that I currently have with me, that aren't in storage right now.

The Sega Dreamcast was definitely s spectacular console. Yeah, I still have all of my original titles in the jewel cases. It's crazy to think I've made it to 88 titles over the years. I rarely see any Sega Dreamcast titles locally, and if I do run into them, it's always games I already own. For all the consoles i own, i try to assemble a factory sealed, personal *All-Time Top 20* or *Top 30,* depending on the particular console. Unexpectedly, for the Dreamcast I've difficulty listing a grand total of 10 game titles. On a personal level, this indicates the Dreamcast has went from an underrated console, to an overrated one 😔 My Top 10 is as follows (In order):
1) Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2
2) Ferrari F355 Challenge
3)Test Drive LeMans 24 Hrs
4) Jet Grind Radio
5) Tennis 2K2
6) Ready 2 Rumble
7) Sega Marine Fishing
8) Space Channel 5
9) Half-Life
10) Propeller Arena
Apart from the 3 peerless racers at the top, an underwhelming list. Especially, when considering Half-Life and Propeller Arena were not official releases (they went gold and eventually leaked). Additionally, i do have much love for Jet Grind Radio and Tennis 2K2. Played the hell out of those back in 2001-2003. Myself and the DC have a history. That said, a console cannot be greater than it's library, and its severe lack of FPS options is a downer. Also, i really tried to get into revered DC titles, such as Shenmue, Sonic, Code Veronica, Phantasy Star, Soul Caliber, etc. However, they're just not my jam. Shenmue in particular, kinda hurts. Because i recognize it as one of the landmark games in history (not nearly as revolutionary as GTA 3 though). As for Soul Caliber, just not into fighters (unless you count boxing or wrestling titles). Of course, the NFL 2K franchise was phenomenal on DC. However, it was ultimately supplanted by NFL2K5 (IMO the greatest NFL vidgame of all-time) on Xbox/PS2, and that's kinda the running theme for the DC library. That said, i appreciate the fact the DC continues to be celebrated. As the jump from humble PS1/N64 graphics to the vivid Dreamcast has never (and never will be?) surpassed. And actually, its not even close. Talk soon, brother.
I'm glad you enjoyed checking out my updated Sega Dreamcast collection. I've loved this console since it 99. I remember going my local Kay-bee-toy store that year to play the demo unit in the store all of the time. It was truly a fantastic console and my favorite Sega console of all-time.
Sadly the Sega Dreamcast's short life in the market, really killed it's libraries true potential. If they had included a DVD player like Sony's PlayStation 2, it might have stay relevant.
I love the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series and I was so glad to add the second one to my collection. I would like to add that Ferrari F355 Challenge to my collection eventually. I would agree that a console can never be greater than it's library. The console definitely did lack in First Person Shooters, but the Sega Dreamcast's controller was never built well for controlling characters in an FPS. Shenmue is definitely not a title for everyone, I just loved that game every since I played it. You listed all games that I love on the Sega Dreamcast. Sonic Adventure is one of my all-time favorite Dreamcast titles. The graphical leap from PlayStation 1 and Nintendo 64 to the Sega Dreamcast was huge and will never be surpassed. We're at a point in gaming where the graphics can only get so much better compared to what we already have. I appreciate you leaving a great thoughtful comment bro. Awesome collection! I completely missed the Dreamcast and wasnt even aware it existed/had died until much later. I do own one now but i only have 2 games for it - Shenmue and Crazy Taxi. The prices were so high by the time i wanted to get into it and i never found any deals over the years unfortunately.
Thank you Joel, I love the Sega Dreamcast. That sucks to hear that you missed out on the Sega Dreamcast and it's launch. It was such a magical time in gaming and I loved that time in gaming. The future looked so bright for the Sega Dreamcast in 1999 but it sadly didn't last very long. The Prices are now just insane for Sega Dreamcast titles, I'm glad that I was able to build my collection years ago before the absurd price hikes. I rarely see Sega Dreamcast titles my self here in my area. Whenever I do find a few, it' almost always super common titles that I already own or have seen. I appreciate you checking out my updated Sega Dreamcast collection.
A recomendation for Dreamcast is Skies of Arcadia and the Sakura Wars games, pretty great games, also I would add Jet Grind Radio, Project Justice, Tech Romancer, Marvel vs Capcom 2 (obviously), Marvel vs Capcom clash of superheroes, Capcom vs SNK, Capcom vs SNK 2, Power Stone 1 and 2, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Chu chu rocket, Rez, Space Channel 5, Elemental Gimmick Gear (E.G.G) Rayman 2 cause really the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2 is the best one in my opinion, and that's some of them, pretty great collection.
I really appreciate the recommendations. I had a buddy that owned a copy of Skies of Arcadia and I remember borrowing it for a few weeks, I had to a lot of fun playing that one. I've heard good things about Sakura Wars but I've never got a chance to play them. I loved Power Stone 1 on the Sega Dreamcast, I first played the game on the Generator Volume 1 Demo Disc that came bundled with my Sega Dreamcast. I rented the actual game later but sadly I never picked up a copy for my collection. I really wish I would have bought it from Blockbuster for $10 when they were selling it off. I've always wanted to play Power Stone 2. I loved Rayman 2 on the Sega Dreamcast, that was another title I rented and beat, but I just never picked up a copy. I could try to hunt one down for you in the future if you would like. I would just ask for the cost of the console and shipping, nothing extra. I never played on a Dreamcast and I don't think that I ever saw one. I've been a Playstation person but right now I have a PS2,3,4, a Xbox One and a Gaming PC, I'm thinking getting a PS5 but I'm waiting for the Slim version, I had to stop playing Dead Space Remake on PC because the lag is destroying my patience and there is nothing I can do to solve it. Can you please tell me if you noticed some kind of lag on PS5?
Sorry to hear that you never got to experience the Sega Dreamcast. It was truly an amazing console that was way ahead of it's time but it sadly died because of it's lack of DVD support. I've enjoyed PlayStation consoles since the original PlayStation launched. The PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and Gaming PC are all awesome consoles to own.
That sucks that the PC Version of the Dead Space Remake is lagging out so bad for you. I unfortunately won't be able to assist you with the PlayStation 5 version of Dead Space Remake as I own it for the Xbox Series X and I don't currently own a PlayStation 5. @@AsianSleepy Hey Sleepy, I don't remember if I ever saw a Sega Dreamcast, it was always Playstation 1 and Playstation 2. I just uninstalled Dead Space on my PC, now I regret buying the Game for PC but I already have it for PS5, right now I'm waiting for 4 Games: Assassin's Creed: Mirage, Spider-man 2, Metal Gear Solid Collection and finally Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, all for PS5. I will get a PS5 as soon as Sony decides to release a PS5 Slim, if not, then I will get a Standard PS5 next Summer. Hopefully we will have Splinter Cell Remake and a Master Collection for Tomb Raider by then. Well, Hopefully.
