It's such a relief to watch a GOOD traditional ghost film that is beautifully filmed and wonderfully acted by all concerned. Please show more films of this type their kind are sadly missing from film lists we need more films like this.

Was surprised to see this was made relatively recently. It has all the qualities and values of earlier U.K. productions in the Victorian era tradition. Great production, storyline and scripting and the acting was extremely convincing. This was a really good scary watch!! Thank you STASH 👍👍👍👍👍

The elderly woman was really touching...I found her compelling as an actress, very good cast in general but she really got to me!
You know what? This is a really good movie. There was no blood and gore but leaves much to the imagination with ghosts beneath the sheets. This gal has moxie and at times was much more persistent than I would ever have been. There is some lovely architecture set in a Victorian setting. Well done.
No special effects type of magic. only very good convincing actors that know their role & craft very well. I thought I could only see this type of film & acting in Hammer films (if anyone remembers) of the 1960s & 70s. Great job & Kudos to all the Actors & those behind the lenses. Hoping for the even bigger screen for everybody.

That was so good. Don't see these type of films enough. Too much blood and gut's in most film's today. Now I've got to try to sleep!

I really enjoyed the film too, an interesting and suspenseful ghost story without the excessive swearing and all the (supposedly “necessary for the script”) nudity as well. I realize there are types of sub-genres in horror where the blood, guts, violence, virginal ‘last girl’ and even nudity is very much a part of what’s expected - but this kind of old fashioned, supernatural type film isn’t one of them! 7.5-8/10 *Thanks!!*🍿🎦
I just finished this as I was about to try to get to sleep too! There were more creepy things and little (and bigger!) ‘jump scares’ in this film than I had expected when I chose it before bed!😅
I really wish parents would start listening when their children are trying to tell them something 😮

I loved this quiet, persistent, heroine, Mrs Kelly so much. We need more of her grace and strength in movies today. This little movie surprised me and I loved it.
Now this is a real ghost story. Love these kind of movies.
Mrs. Kelly was a woman of deep conviction . She refused to allow the ‘evil entity’ to win . Some may have called that stupid or extremely brave. But for this film to succeed in scaring us, she needed to be extremely brave and religious. Braver than her son, Richard. A suspenseful movie.
The assumption that people would automatically do better is more the curse of human ego than factual assessment...

Absolutely agree. This type of movie has been crowded out by movies that exchange atmosphere, plot, and acting for blood, gore, and poor dialogue.

Oh, I like the way you think! I am so weary of graphic violence and gore. It's a cheap way of getting thrills. I'm so grateful someone is carrying on the tradition of the classic ghost story. Thank you so much for posting!

Wow! A great traditional British horror movie nothing over the top or to unrealistic just spooky scary creepy drama it's great how it was set in what I presume is the 1800 the Sherlock Holmes era I like how the modern twist is of the paranormal investigation being done as from history we know sayonces were done back then but not much is known of scientific paranormal investigations and research was done I think in my humble opinion this movie has so much potential for a sequel or prequel a series or spin offs it could be called "Ms Kelly the paranormal hunter/investigator" or "the paranormal investigations of Mrs Kelly"
Exceptionally good film, well acted and constructed throughout, got the hackles up more than once and just at one point I admit to jumping in my seat. Great stuff many thank's.

This was really an outstanding short horror film. The acting was as great as any I've ever seen, and everything about the story was deep and powerful. I also love to see a film like this conclude in a satisfying resolution, rather than string you along for endless sequels. This was sad, but we know that Mrs. Kelley sacrificed herself to end the curse, and the hand that reached out to her at the end was one of light.
I'll tell ya one thing,,, this woman is brave! I could never stay in that house like she did. I'm in the middle of the movie right now 😮
Good old-fashioned scary. Haunted house with sheeted ghosts 👻. Definitely kept me interested, though. I loved the old style paranormal equipment too. Glad I watched !

What makes a movie like this so creepy , a big house , its dark , kids sitting around , bumps in the night , a storm brewing outside , scary as heck , but thats what scary movies are .

Such a kind comment. Sadly June passed away 2022. She was 94 and a tremendous person. Truly she was amazing and such a talented actress. She is missed deeply.
Well that was scary as hell and so very sad. Had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. GREAT MOVIE.
This movie was way more than I expected. I would suggest not watching alone, at night, during a wind storm power outage. Holy crap am I creeped out right now.
There was a lot of walking around with candles in this film. The plot was a bit slow but good. The actors are well cast and the period costumes are fantastic. Worth a watch.

Candles in fixtures on walls were extinguished with extinguishers, not blown out. That lack of knowledge of the period alone put me off.
There are several anachronisms, true, but the script and the performances are still solid. Mrs. Kelly is a compelling character.

Amazing, i dont tend to find any films scary these days, horror is my favourite genre.
However this did give me some chills, i am very impressed

Yes, "Too scary at that time without light, no phone nobody to call, and being a single woman with children". having that reality set in our minds ,while watching, really added to the fear. And that sound track. OMG, It alone was scary.

This film was so good, in fact i thought it might have been based on a classic novel, well done to all the cast and crew.
Fancy putting adverts on 6 minutes before the end of the film, when the action is at it's height, beginning to find out what happens. Spoils the flow of the story.

I liked the film a lot! Very successful and atmospheric, but im left with so many unanswerd questions! Whose skull was it? Why the children? Did he take her, too? The actress was really good and she had scary intense eyes
