The Bible does not mention birthday celebrations for Jesus or any other faithful worshipper of God. The Scriptures refer to only two individuals who celebrated their birthday. Neither of them was a worshipper of Jehovah, the God of the Bible, and their birthday celebrations were cast in a negative light. (Genesis 40:20; Mark 6:21) According to the Encyclopædia Britannica, the early Christians opposed the “pagan custom of celebrating birthdays.”
The Bible does not say exactly when Jesus was born. “The day of Christ’s birth cannot be ascertained from the N[ew] T[estament] or, indeed, from any other source,” states McClintock and Strong’s Cyclopedia. Surely, if Jesus wanted his followers to celebrate his birthday, he would have made certain that they knew the date of his birth.
Second, the Bible does not record that Jesus or any one of his disciples celebrated Christmas. According to the New Catholic Encyclopedia, celebrating Christmas was first mentioned “in the Chronograph of Philocalus, a Roman almanac whose source material can be dated to 336 [C.E.].” Clearly, that was well after the completion of the Bible and centuries after Jesus was on earth. Thus, McClintock and Strong note that “the observance of Christmas is not of divine appointment, nor is it of N[ew] T[estament] origin.”
As the Great Teacher, Jesus gave clear instructions on what he wanted his followers to do, and these are recorded in the Bible. Celebrating Christmas, however, is not one of them. Just as a schoolteacher does not want his students to go beyond the instructions given them, Jesus does not want his followers to “go beyond the things that are written” in the Holy Scriptures.-1 Corinthians 4:6.
On the other hand, there is one important event the early Christians were very familiar with-the commemoration, or Memorial, of Jesus’ death. Jesus personally told his disciples when to observe this occasion and showed them how to do it. These specific instructions, as well as the calendar day of his death, are recorded in the Bible.-Luke 22:19; 1 Corinthians 11:25.
As we have seen, Christmas is a birthday celebration, and early Christians did not follow that pagan custom. Furthermore, the Bible does not mention that Jesus or anyone else celebrated Christmas. In light of these facts, millions of Christians the world over have concluded that Christmas is not for them.

I guess a better question should be, “Why Christians, Do Not Celebrate The Scriptural Celebrations?” No one can justify celebrating these pagans holidays.
I was caught up based on my childhood experiences, and those experiences translated to how me and my wife raised our children. And I have to admit, based on the Bible, I should’ve brought them up on the 7 Celebrations of God’s Word.
Now that I personally know better 2023 will be my last time celebrating any of these pagan traditions and focus more on Biblical celebrations. The main reason is to truly keep the focus on Jesus!

Let's pray that the truth be revealed and the scales removed from our eyes, and humble our prideful hearts, Holy Spirit! Now is the time that we as true believers wake up from this Great Deception of Baal worship! This is ancient witchcraft that the Most High has warned us of many times and we come up out of its Babylonian spell. Since the beginning YAH has warned us stiff necked people not to do these things just like the Israelites- following what other nations do for their gods so we can do it for our God (Deut 12:23-31). We are still letting Baal and Ashtoreth run the show like they did back then. Our enemy has been puppeteering us into the 😢 Mark of the Beast. We're no longer keeping the commandments YAHusha came to fulfill in the new convenant. We should not be idolaters that self worship and are more concerned about man's tradition than following YAH'S commandments and having a real relationship with him. Things that have evil roots bare evil, pagan fruit!
People are still taking Colossians 2:16 out of context. Paul was speaking to the new Colossae church converts that used to be pagan. Because that community didn't understand that the new covenant looks different, how Yahusha got rid of the death sentence associated with sin, not abolishing the law itself. Colassae was judging them for eating meat, drinking wine and celebrating during their new moons, biblical feasts and Sabbaths. He was encouraging that they not to worry about how they carried out those specific celebrations since the Colassae (who were still pagan) were against those things.
Fast forward to today. People are still holding tight to the pagan customs and traditions and saying that they're doing it for the Most High. Mark 7:9 - YAHusha told the Pharisees the same thing "You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!" More evidence that we can't justify using evil holy days instead of Most High's commandments.
Come out of Babylon my people. Do not perish for a lack of knowledge! We honor YAH with our lips, but don't keep his commandments. He actually has biblical feasts he Does command us to observe, along with Sabbath days to get the seal of YHWH. The opposite will unknowingly lead to acceptance of the Mark of the Beast. Have you noticed All religions are united in celebrating the SAME universal pagan holidays. Coincidence? Pray on it brothers and sisters and the truth shall make you free!

All other Jewish customs meant for only the Jews to follow true Christians are not obligated to follow since Jesus is the fulfillment of the Law (Mosaic Law Code) and established the Law of Love which true Christians are commanded to observe (Matt 22:37-39;John 14:15;1 John 5:3; Psalm 83:18)

But we can not ignore what thus saith the Lord in Jeremiah 10: 2-4 (KJV) - " 2) Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed by them.
    3) For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

Yes, my brother gave me this same verse about 2 years ago, and when I read it, I gathered a different revelation. My reading showed me that they cut down trees and carved them into idols, then draped them with jewelry. This makes me think of things like a Buddha staute. They were once carved from trees and draped with jewelry. Christmas trees are usually cut but not carved into an idol. The book of Jeremiah was written 600 years before Jesus. I may be wrong but this is what I got when I read it.

      ‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:1‭-‬9‬ ‭NLT‬
[1] You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. [2] For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. [3] They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. [4] They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. [5] They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! [6] They are the kind who work their way into people’s homes and win the confidence of vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by various desires. [7] (Such women are forever following new teachings, but they are never able to understand the truth.) [8] These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith. [9] But they won’t get away with this for long. Someday everyone will recognize what fools they are, just as with Jannes and Jambres.

Thank you for this timely word! This has been on my mind for a while. I grew up celebrating Christmas but now in my adult life and a born again believer I want to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour but felt conflicted about when is Jesus' actual birth because Christmas seems to be so commercialized. THANK YOU for giving the foundational information that has brought some clarity that I know many other persons found helpful as well. Merry Christmas to you and your family Doc!

You have to research for yourself as you said and see how God leads you.Jeremiah 10:1-5 and Isaiah 44:14-20 speaks on pagan worship of trees and statues. From my study it doesn’t equate to a Christmas tree but can be any tree or statue but I hope God will lead you in your life about what these scriptures mean for you. I never grew up with the selfish Christmas because I raised Christian etc and we gave more than received but God will lead and knows what to do in your life

What is Jeremiah 10: 1-5 talking about? I always thought it was talking about a Christmas tree; we idolize it. It’s the center of the season. I think we have to dig a little deeper. He’s a theologist and gave a very theological answer but we’re to be called out of the world. Do not learn the way of the nations…. For the customs of the people are worthless. That’s Bible..Not me. Are we still a people following the Bible or have we made up our own versions. God Bless you all!

    • @Ashleyunfiltered
      @Ashleyunfiltered 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@brandonevans8854 ohhhh I can definitely back it up friend. Definitely. Interesting how you agree to a Pastor that also doesn’t back it up with completed facts… just empty thoughts.
SO just to keep this on a even level playing field with no religious bias or emotion. This is an answer done by artificial intelligence. Again no religious bias or emotion, only proof of factual information from historical times:
      HISTORICAL EVIDENCE:
“When Constantine the Great declared Christianity as the official religion of the Roman Empire in the 4th century AD, many people in the empire still held pagan beliefs and practices. In order to ease the transition of these pagan populations into the new faith, Christian leaders incorporated certain elements of existing pagan festivals and traditions into the celebration of Christmas.
The date of December 25th, for example, was chosen to coincide with existing pagan festivals, such as the Roman festival of Saturnalia and the celebration of the winter solstice. This was a common practice in early Christianity to help make the new faith more relatable and accessible to the people.
By incorporating elements of existing pagan festivals and traditions into the celebration of Christmas, Christian leaders hoped to provide a familiar context for the new Christian message and to facilitate the conversion of pagan populations. This approach was seen as a way to gradually transition people from their pagan beliefs and practices to the new Christian faith.
It is important to note that while the specific customs and traditions associated with Christmas may have pagan origins or cultural influences, the focus of the celebration for Christians is on the birth of Jesus and the theological significance of this event. The incorporation of pre-existing customs and traditions into the celebration of Christmas was a way to contextualize and express the Christian faith within the cultural and historical context in which it was practiced.
The development of Christmas as a Christian holiday is a complex and historical process that involved various factors and considerations. It is important to approach the celebration of Christmas with an understanding of its historical development and to discern how to celebrate in a way that aligns with one's faith and understanding of Scripture.”
So there you have it… Call a spade a spade.
The issue isn’t the fact that it’s just pagan because our calendar is. It’s a bigger issue when people who claim to be believers, believe and participate in an act of “worship” of something that actually ORIGINALLY had nothing to do with Christ. Israel did this, following man customs and mixing traditions with God and well.. you know the rest of what happened in the Old Testament. They didn’t listen.
“Many many who say Lord Lord will NOT enter the Kingdom”. Matthew 7:21-23
And 1 John 4:1-3 says to test every spirit to see if they are from God, because many false prophets and teachers have gone out into the world.
Don’t be a zombie, do your research and study the word. Make the comparison, find your answer. God will show you.

@@lnyawilliamsmoorell5061 Amen, but my question is in what way is celebrating the birth of Christ "sacrificing to demons" ? Last I checked the calendar we follow Monday-Sunday in western culture was also named after Roman gods, and not the Lord. So if you want to get specific about a day don't leave the calendar week out too. Remember, Romans 3:23 . For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The Lord Jesus Christ I worship owns ALL days of the year. Regardless of what pagan tradition it may have initially been known for. As an imperfect Christian I stand on Philippians 1:6. Merry CHRISTmas

    Based on this scripture:
    Colossians 2:16 KJV
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
I realized that I am not arguing with folks about non-salvation issues. Honestly every aspect of our lives have a pagan root and origin so I am not going to be overwhelmed by it. I support everyone’s decision to celebrate or not but I am not going to belittle or devalue someone’s salvation over it. I am cautious of the weak and new Christians as Paul warned to be but I am not going to be in bondage to rules and traditions of men. Key is serve Christ and have a balance. The Holy Spirit won’t lead you wrong if you ask him and be led by him.
