I loved these ideas! I'm an older woman who bristles at "dressing for your age" videos. I am incorporating your ideas with the tension of the colorful sneakers, beanie, layered blouse and edgy boots. I feel like myself as it's only a few tweaks and I feel like I look great. Please encourage older women to express themselves with your looks. Thanks.
I am 68 and use these ideas, too. Just bought a pair of statement chunky boots...a big silk print scarf ..a few bandana scarves...a classy big leather black bag. They edge up my classics like a dream.
I love the sneakers, boots, and socks. Honestly, it's the bottom of the edgy sandwich and makes so much sense without too much effort. I actually ordered those fabulous Asics and can't wait for them to be delivered! I've been watching so many of your videos lately trying to define my style. I have a different vibe for working out in the world and for working from home. Sometimes I think I'm more edgy classic, sometimes more edgy cozy (especially when winter hits in Wisconsin!) For my edgy cozy looks, oversized blazers become fuzzy cardigans (I have a heather gray cashmere duster that I love!) and silk-like scarves become flannel infinity scarves. The weather is perfect for boots, trekking sneakers, and thick warm socks right now paired with these warmer, more textured layering pieces. I love bringing in the edge while still feeling comfy and cozy, especially this time of year. That's my version of effortless for sure.
Yay! I’m going to a matinee performance today. I didn’t want to be too dressy or too casual. This gave me some great ideas to elevate a casual look while not being too fussy. Thanks!
I love how you continue to evolve yet stay true to your principles ❤. You give me such great ideas for playing with my existing wardrobe and your edits make watching even more enjoyable!
I agree! I am not the same style as Emily but her tips are so helpful. I think style is an art and Emily shows us the science behind that art. Kind of like Leonardo daVinci
I'm so happy to have found your channel! This is so my esthetic. You are really helping me be more confident and to curate. I love a bold sock! I leaned in to a black/white stripe sock with chunky shoes and combat boots this fall. I'm hunting for those vertical striped ones you had on in another video. Love them!
😊❤ I always enjoy your content, Emily! Yes, to quick style additions for stepping up an outfit, for "just about out the door" days or nights!😊❤ Fun, funky shoes/boots/sandals, jewelry & scarves are my favorite ways to kick up my "I got dressed in 10 seconds" kind of basic outfit. 😊♥️
Im a Nurse that works for a mobile mental health crisis team. I love fashion and you have helped me elevate my wardrobe. I can be cute and edgy while out in these streets…..at 54 years young ❤😂
I've always been drawn to edging up monochrome casual, so breaking down the basic tools for us makes this probably your most helpful video for me. I can already think of some changes to tweak. Thanks! BTW, that blue blazer on you? Your glam color. Wow.
I add glasses bag or hat in my favorite colors. I recently bought a loneliness shacket and wore it with vegan leggings and a turtleneck with a metallic bag. Fragrance matters, too.😊 Great helpful video
Yes to contrasts! Love high-top sneakers with my cropped dress pants, with a sock pop :) I work with youth and caregivers so it really honours both populations!
Brilliant! It never occurred to me that my socks could have any impact on my outfit, so I’m definitely going to try this with my colorful sneakers. As always , thanks for the great content, you Rock Emily!
Great video, as always. Thanks, Emily, for the inspiration. Unfortunely, I can‘t see the TH-cam affiliate links. Is there anyone else with this problem?
All the styles look great on you! I’m petite (5 feet, 107 pounds) and I’ve always concerned that oversized coats and jackets making me look even shorter. Any suggestions?
Emily, Ever since I first heard you talk about "sock pop" I have been looking for socks. I'm not having much luck. The ones I find are either too short or the print/pattern is on the foot where it won't even show. Any suggestions? thanks!
OK. How do I "edge up" an outfit when it's ZERO degrees out, and comfort is superseding fashion??? "Fashion" only works when it's over about 30 degrees, otherwise, all bets are off!

Same. I am 54 and I do not like those videos on "how to dress in your 50s". Wear what I want to.

I'm 62, don't wanna dress "old" either. Love this gal & her great videos!❤
I agree, only I’m 73. How did That happen?

I love the sound of your style, especially the edgy cozy. I'm similar where I have a lot of variations of my style. Which I think is good.

Love the use of the word friction within your explanation.
That was an ah ha moment for me!
Oh good! I feel like it's a good alternative to contrast

I loved the velvet blazer! I will be looking for a bold sneaker now.

I need to practice some of these great tips. Most of the time, I tend to be too careful when I really want to go edgy. Thanks for the inspiration.

Great helpful video
Oooh, fragrance. Good point! 😊
@@Audrey.17 are you fully styled without the fragrance for the outfit vibe?
Love that! Fragrance is such a good point too because it's all about all the senses.
That blue striped blazer is amazing on you!
Enjoying your recaps, especially when I don't get time to see your shorts.
Oh, Emily, you are the greatest! Thanks! ❤

Loooooove the navy blazer!!
The most helpful advice I’ve ever heard
Love the challenge !

Loving the bold sneaker look! This is something I need to try! Actually, I love them all, but you did ask which was my favorite…….😂
The sneakers are such a great and comfortable way to add style.
Super helpful, Emily!
Glad it was helpful!

Yesss. Love this ❤
Thank you!!!
You have inspired me! I just found your channel and it has been so fun! Thank you
Very helpful and clear again, thanks Emily!!
This is simple and excellent!!
Love the Palladium boots. I've seen conflicting reviews on the sizing though. Order my regular size or size down?
I got my regular size of 7 and it feels good. Not too big but enough room for thick socks when needed
@@EmilyWheatley Thank you! Now all I need to do is decide on a color.
What are the bold black boots??
All the styles look great on you! I’m petite (5 feet, 107 pounds) and I’ve always concerned that oversized coats and jackets making me look even shorter. Any suggestions?
Affiliate links dont seem to be in Canada...
Question: Which Palladium boots do you have? The ones in the link do not have zippers. I need zippers! Thank you!
Another video with "Say Cheese"! I knew I would love it. Already watched it 3 times.❤

Try Sock Dreams👍
You make styling, sooo eaay. Wish I had your wardrobe. 😅
Oh thank you!
Cute!

OK. Tomorrow I’m wearing my thick soled beigey boots, jeans, and beigey cashmere sweater with maybe a silk scarf- if it’s not to hot here in LA.
Anybody else getting tempted to cut their hair?
Can you do a flOriDa inspired minimalist edgy menopausal woman episode 🤣🤣
Sock resources?

Why looking bolder than one already is?
Why not?
