Martin is a brilliant hurling man. Traditionally hurling was played in the county’s that ash trees were plentiful. It looks like it hasn’t evolved beyond these areas in the last 100 years. Not an easy job to do in a hurry. It has to start in the primary schools.

He’s a brilliant man for the game. Seen him up in Kildare a few times. Thanks Martin for everything you’ve done for hurling. A true gael

Need to try get this man or someone comparable back involved, gaa has plenty of money so they need full time development officers promoting hurling

Shame that the role has been vacant since 2021. I'm from Louth so it's almost all football up here. 36 football clubs in the county and only 3 hurling as 2 of the hurling clubs folded in the last 4 years. Would be brilliant to see it brought into the schools to push a bit of interest

Why is his old role still vacant? Sean Kelly a Kerry man was the only president who really tried to implement change in promoting hurling

Get him back on a few more times! Sounds like he has some real insight and tbh, it is more informing than anything a random pundit can provide on the state of the game

Name and shame the people who try to sabotage hurling in these counties

The problem up the country speaking from a Roscommon point of view is not many people are not interested in the Gaa.
