You went hard in the paint on this one! I’m glad you enjoyed it! High points for me were gambit and rogue. Low points… just about everything else 😂 arts refreshing tho I like the idea of no inks they definitely pulled it off
Oh man I just went for it with this one haha. Idk what to say it’s not a classic and yet I had a blast making my way through it 😂 I definitely agree Gambit/Rogue are some of the best characters in this run absolutely ❌
My most favorite X-Men comic..The roster was uncanny. Storm (as a true leader), Gambit, Rogue, Psylocke, Sage and Thunderbird (Neal Shara) and the Marvel Girl cameo is genius. I heard Chris Claremont has done it or is doing it again but with Wolverine and Kitty involved…I’m not interested but this run is my top 5 along with X-Men Red (Storm and Jean’s run). But Chris is the only one who doesn’t just write but he explores his characters, their powers and the adventure which creates a very interesting and attention captivating story. The story and the art, tho😊! If he was to create a Storm, Marvel Girl, Scarlet Witch and Captain Marvel story arc in their current Omega-Level status … I would be the x-tremely happy
It’s so refreshing to hear someone else who enjoyed this run. I’ve heard a lot of mixed and negative reviews on this title but reading this omnibus I kind of loved it 😂👏
Bought this a few months back and haven’t read it yet so was disappointed to see quite a few lukewarm reviews. it’s good to hear you enjoyed it as I’ve liked a lot of stuff you’ve given high grades too. Looking forward to it now. Art looks different and nicely done. Claremont looks his usual wordy self in places but he does now how to craft a story. Thanks for the review
Yeah I saw a ton of negative reviews so I was really pleased when I gave it a read myself and ended up enjoying it. I can see where the negative reviews come from but I just had fun. I felt like the stories were interesting and I enjoyed the actual team. There were a handful of mutants I felt like I really got to know better through this volume. And it was personally fun for me to compare this later X-Men Claremont to some of his earlier stuff which I’ve also read this last year or so. If you end up diving in to your copy you’ll have to let me know what you think
Honestly I heard a ton of mixed reviews but I really enjoyed my read through. I do not really consider it a classic X-men collection, but a very fun later Claremont X-book at least to me 💪❌ Thanks for watching amigo
Great review 👍 As many people on the comments I was doubting if get this or not based on its bad rep (hard to find positive reviews), but after the video doesn’t look so bad…😅 I’d go for it! Even though I must say (risking my life for it) that I haven’t read practically nothing from XMen… I read must of the Claremont run on Wolverine and some of the New Mutants (I enjoyed this quite a lot!) but I guess it will be okay jumping to this one, as it seems to be quite a thing on its own!
I do think it’s accessible to new readers, however I’d say this book is good for X-men fans. If you’re just trying out X-men I may point you toward other things first like Claremont’s X-men run, astonishing X-men by Whedon, New X-men by Morrison. But yeah, if this one interests you I thought it was fun
@@TheComicBookReport got it, thanks for the advice! I had those on my sight but unfortunately the Whedon is impossible to get at a normal prize (same as the Morrison), could try some Claremont volumes still available, even though I won’t be starting from volume 1 or 2 as they’re also unavailable 😥
@@MrComm I think I’m actually dropping a where to start X-men video this week incidentally on the channel if you’re interested-think I have it scheduled for Wednesday?
@@TheComicBookReport sure I’ll watch that too, thanks! I’m watching some of your other videos too according to what I want to learn or plan to read next… already made a big whole on my pocket… 🤪 damn this omnis are not cheap!
@@MrComm I know I’ve got to be selective and save my comics budget up for some of those bad boys 😂📚 Spider-man alone this year has had so many new omnibuses and reprints it’s radical
