This is great advice for non toxic managers but unfortunately my experience has only been with managers where if you ask for this kind of questions you are mysteriously let go a few days or weeks later. I'm glad you've had a more positive work experience in corporate world though. That said, there are some good questions here to ask yourself before going into a 1:1 with a manager because that can be a scary experience! It is better to be prepared!

I've been watching a lot of your videos and having conversations with my manager. I've been at my new job for 8 months and have advocated for myself to get a 7% raise, promotion and additional leadership training.

I already like that you put ownership back on employees and that they are in full control of their career development. I do like that you give some specifics on how often those interactions should be and what the intent of those meetings should go over. I value employees that are proactive vs avoidance and guessing priorities.

Currently, I am working remotely with a team based in India. With many cultural differences, it has been challenging to communicate with my manager in an effective way and it has been impacting my performance. These questions were exactly what I needed. This is very helpful! Thank you!

Please dont take things for granted based on what people say on youtube. Majority of the people on youtube are rubbish and have no real time experience to offer you professional advise.
And remember, professionals don't do talkings on youtube lecturing people "how to be" and "how not to be". Remember, there will always be exceptions.

Man how do you gently tell your team watch your video? 😅. I wish my team would do this instead of me just trying to guess. At the end of the day I can’t read minds and sometimes people get upset when I take another direction. Please speak up to your managers 🎉it 100% helps us.

Regarding a 1 on 1 why would my manager bring our lead to our ONE ON ONE? Isn’t it supposed to be 1 on 1???

My coworker told me that our manager asked her what’s her weakness. So I’m guessing my manager is going to ask me the same question. What’s the best way to reply to that?

I think that this is a question that you need to ask yourself and answered as real as possible. Remember answer it with a follow solution.
Ej my weakness is not been organized but I’m working on getting an agenda and taking training on how better organize my time and follow my projects .

0:23 they're detrimental to career growth? Misspeak or should someone avoid 1:1s?

I submitted the following then discovered that it is being linked to one of my boys' accounts. I also have no clue how to change that.
I really wanted to watch this and learn more about this, but I couldn't hear or understand a lot as you are talking way too fast. I am not a speed hearer. Then I noticed I was also starting to get motion sickness while watching the video. It seems that it is very choppy in that there is an edit break after just about every statement that has been made. It makes me think of the old Max-Head Room shows that were produced in the mid to late 80's.

As a manager all of the information she is giving is valuable and I wish my teams did this. You should be able to spend just 17 minutes to improve your success otherwise it sounds like your here for the wrong reasons. It sounds like you are looking for quick tips vs in-depth insight.

I finally figured it out! Sometimes it is hard being so old that you can remember when Dirt was New! Slow the speech and reduce the choppiness of the video.
