Hey guys! Sorry about the audio in this video. I have already had a couple of people point it out to me. I was aware if it before i posted, but i couldn't not post this. There was too much valuable information here. Everything was filmed yesterday. The whole video is not bad, you can hear my mom completely fine through the video, there are a couple of times that you cant hear me for a second. I just wanted to let you all know. The remaining two video's, i did not use the microphones and the audio is perfect. Sorry in advance, it was my mistake. Hope you all enjoy the video and the upcoming ones too. You wont leave this one not understanding whats going on, like i said, its just a couple of times for a second that you have a hard time hearing me. Thank you guys! God bless

Thank you man!!!! I really appreciate you watching this. I am sure it had to be hard for some to watch, knowing that they have been through the same thing. Alcohol really does destroy families. If my mom reminds you of your mother, then I know your mom, you are a lucky man! I am truly blessed. Thanks for watching brother. Hope all is well with you. Have a great weekend! Btw.... I'll be in Charleston again on March 5th for my next ercp. Hopefully we can meet up if you are down there then. I will be there for 3 days. Going down on the 4th and staying until the 6th. This is an eye opener to the problems that can be passed on to the family or loved one by this disease. Usually the person makes it hard on the family either being aggressive or through the worry of a mother that loves her child and cannot bear to watch them hurting themselves.
If the person is ready to accept the hurt they have caused and say sorry the family is more than ready through love to forgive.
Your mom is a wonderful person LD. Thank you for sharing this talk between you both.

This was a really interesting video to me. As the mother of an alcoholic, I could never be as open and honest in talking with her as your mom is. If I tell my daughter how she really was when drinking, she gets angry. It speaks very well of your relationship with your mom that she can speak honestly and you don’t get mad and defensive.

    • @liverdisease-qb6rk

Hey LD, part 2 did not disappoint, it must have been so scary for you and your family to go through all that. It wasn’t your time and here you are sharing your story with all of us. Your mom has kind eyes and she tells the story really clearly. I see that trait runs in the family. Again I really feel like you sharing your story is what you were meant to do. I wish you wouldn’t have had to go through any of this though and only hope you continue to heal. This event made you stop drinking and ultimately saved your life.

There are no words to express how much you are doing to lift the stigma and spread awareness about this awful infliction. I hate that you nearly didn't make it, but this is what gives you the knowledge & wisdom to be able to speak about this subject with such insight, integrity and raw honesty! This is absolutely amazing. I wanted this conversation to happen with my brother, I prayed for it every day, but it never did. Please give your mom a big hug from me. She was so gracious to talk about this without using the opportunity to focus on negative emotions. Just seeing these videos of your conversation help me heal at least a little from not having this kind of closure myself about my brother's alcoholism, about my family's alcoholism. You have given us a wonderful gift, you keep on going, this is wonderful!

Hey there. Thank you. I'm really glad that these videos with my mom have been able to help you somewhat. You know... when I do these videos, I never think about the angles that people are coming from. I started this channel to help those who are suffering with this disease and those who are struggling with aud. I have learned so much doing this over time. Especially from people who watch who have been affected be alcohol indirectly. Thank you for this. And I will give my mom a hug for you! God blesz

@@liverdisease-qb6rk I heard recently that Dibai or somewhere in Saudi Arabia was a dry city.... as in, no alcohol allowed. I'm American, and I love freedom just as much as the next American, but man, that sounded like a good idea. Alcohol is the gateway drug, and it's so widely used .... even people who aren't alcoholics or drink very often affect their family and friends with it. What you're doing is like peeling the onion of therapy, and I'm proud of you for doing all of this and forcing yourself to face it all.

@@liverdisease-qb6rk unfortunately some people get a sad little power trip from cruelty. What you are doing takes bravery and kindness…most of us see and appreciate those qualities. That being that…I ran your cirrhosis video for my class this morning. All (10) said they felt they knew much more than they had before watching it, 7 wanted to watch more of your videos, which I encouraged, ( one girl thought you were “ kinda hot”),and all felt they could/would apply what they learned to their personal lives as well as clinically and that your video helped make the text book more understandable. I will be giving them a test on a couple of components of GI disorders Monday. I will tell you the results of that once the tests are graded. Overall I believe you got the attention and interest that our text could not. So thank you…you really are a natural teacher.

Satan has a way of attacking those who are God's chosen, and their families.. It's warned against several times in the Bible. If you don't believe it then the devil's not worried about interfering with you. Once you believe in Jesus and the Bible, you should recognize that Satan's gonna try to come for you in many deceptive ways. In the end, this is all about a spiritual battle for your soul, fought in the higher realm. May God protect you all.
