This is far and away my favorite video of dougs. I could never watch this video without laughing along with him, it just seems like true unfiltered bliss.
To borrow Doug's signature introduction, this is why actual professional racing car drivers earn danger money. The P1 GTR is, in effect, a pyroclastic volcano on wheels. One that's threatening to immolate you in lava every time you fire it up. I suspect the only piece of machinery that will expose you to bigger G-forces when cornering, is a modern supersonic jet fighter. Doug will probably agree that the P1 GTR is best described as "crushingly brutal". The reaction times that you need to possess, simply to pilot this car competently around a race track at any decent speed, are phenomenal, let alone what's needed to *race* this car. If your name doesn't end in "Schmitz" or "Senna", you'll probably simply be hanging on for the ride. If you're one of the few people who can genuinely race this car, this is a *weapon* ...

Doug in 2021: “Thisss... is a soviet nuclear tank, and I’ll take it for a drive and give it a doug score!”
I would unironically watch a 40 minute video of doug showing all the quirks and features of a soviet nuclear tank.
doug actually already drove a tank on the road, search it up!
@Cutedu, you are right. However, it’s not technically a tank, but close enough nevertheless!

You could be describing a 1986 Corolla or a multimillion dollar mclaren
@@liambassitt5919 and both of those are excellent cars lol. Though i like poking fun at doug because he got a glimpse at why car guys gut their interiors to reduce weight. pretty much makes any car a hoot to drive..and you dont need a 1000hp twin turbo v-12 to do it with.
I can only imagine the thrill of behind the wheel if he’s having that much fun
I think Dougie would be that most chill guy to have an all day conversation with about cars
“But you’re faster than anything on the road so it doesn’t really matter “ 😂 great video Doug
In California traffic so yea it doesn’t matter
I really gotta hand it to Doug - he gets up close and personal to cars that most of us will never even see in real life, let alone drive.
That said, I'd be absolutely terrified of driving something like this.
I really wish we could’ve seen his face driving this car
Without the mask He looks the same as in the last video.
No changes in facial area, but He might have some extra hands or legs.

@Doug DeMuro 13:50: The master switch is actually a safety feature in race cars. It doesn’t just cut power from the ignition; it cuts power from the battery, so a fire doesn’t start after a wreck.

I wish that Doug could put a front facing camera when he drives so we can see how fast he is really moving.

Undoubtedly my very favourite thing about TH-cam is Doug's wide-eyed, slack-face stare when he floors the pedal on beastly motor and his entire concentration shifts to solely the act of "not dying". It's golden.
"How much did Pirelli and Mobil contribute to the cost?"
"Not as much as you'd think."

In all seriousness, firefighters frequently have to disable the power of a vehicle after an accident. Having a guide on where the power sources are on an atypical car is a good idea.

The fire supression system should come standard in every mclaren
Salomandrin approves this message......

When you realize that your daily driver has just a bit more horsepower than the upgrade from a McLaren P1 to a P1 GTR
Speak for yourself, sir. My daily driver has (well, had from factory) a whopping 69 hp, 14 years ago. I know, Europe, man...
but on track will be miles ahead of the P1

Jokes on you, my daily driver has infinitely more horses than the P1 GTR, 0 x ∞ is still 0.
