- What a Beast this Senton 3s is!!! Big shout out to everyone who recommended trying the the Typhon shocks. So far I'm stoked with the results. Still want to try my taped Trenchers with HR hex adapters on her, but waiting for upgraded GPM steering blocks to arrive first. Also planning to try the Hobbystar 3670 motor soon. Huge props to ARRMA for this ultra FUN 3s line!!! Anxious to try the Typhon 3s.

@@davemitch729 I'm pretty sure all the shocks will fit. They did change the caps for the V3-V4 models, but you could fudge the pivot ball fitment with tubing/spacers...etc. I prefer the V1-V2 springs because they're a bit softer. 😎💪👊👊
It's totally not fair that we're all stuck with concrete and flat grass when you have those amazing dirt jumps. The ground sounds so soft. ☹☹☹☹
I hear you my friend 👊. Trying to make the most of these wonderful spots🍻. The ground is normally rock hard, but recent rains have helped soften things. The big jump park gets watered with an automated timer😜.
Every city has bike jumps go as your local 13yr old
Or Google Earth it. I did it for my town and found a few cool places to zoom around using Google earth

Dude. This vid never gets old. I really gotta find a track. I think a have solution for my rough terrain. 3s 6000mah, 15t pinion(I need torque and have no where to go 50+ regularly), typhon shocks like you recommended(the girl hugs the ground like there’s a magnet) proline flotek body(unpainted..what’s the point), and speedtreads vulture tires. Dynatrax lockup mt are too heavy, and the stock tires are too small. The one thing I didn’t do that you said was the granite tires. Prob should have gone there first but wasn’t crazy about the dboots quality. I ripped a stock tire but,again, my terrain is harsh. Thanks again Rich.
Killer bash brother 👍👍 I have been bashing my granite 4x4 blx in stock form and it’s been holding up great. I’m ready to start upgrading it a little to make it handle a little better. It is a little bouncy in stock form. I think I’m going to order some typhon shocks to try out on it. Love the videos, look forward to your channel 💪💪👍

Man awesome video those 2 gaps were butter smooth man and boy does it flip nice!! Monsterfied sct's are so much fun and a complete blast brother i love them! Yeah they might not jump as well as some other rigs but pure fun factor is off the chart, i can drive mine all day long without loosing interest 👌👍 maybe it's the challenge factor of getting those jumps nailed idk? But i just love it 😁🤘 this video was awesome man ive watched it 3 times before dropping a comment and gotta watch again 🤣✊

I put the typhon shocks on today and I have to say it’s completely different. I wasn’t sure if was worth the money but she stays planted across anything. I even hit 45mph today across a field. Until she lifted completely off the ground. Lol. Between the 2.8 lockup’s, the 6000mah 50c 3s, and those typhon shocks, it’s a mean machine and tough as nails. My 15t pion comes tomorrow. I’ve watched this vid 50 times. I love it! Fun fun!!

Have you had any issues? Esc crap out? Motor? I think I smoked esc. 15t was a week too late.
@@brendanoconnor2522 I haven't had any issues with my electronics 👍. Normally these BLX ESCs will hit thermal shutdown before getting smoked. It's possible it overheated if you were making wide open or repeated heavy passes in the grass🤔. That's always harder on stuff. Might try recalibrating the ESC and/or try doing a factory reset per the manual. My ESCs have ran amazingly cool for their small size especially. Make sure you didn't freeze up the stock slipper case bearings. Had to swap mine for rubber sealed very quickly. 😎💪👊👊
Thanks Rich. Slipper was fine. I had just put in the 15t and all seemed good. If you’ve seen my drone footage you’ll see all I have is grass lol. And up or downhill. I’m jealous of you blx track access ;) I might go back to the 20t. It seems that all went to hell after the 15t.
Really impressed with the line of 3S rigs from Arrma. Took my Senton to the local indoor track, and it put my slash to shame right out of the box! It’s a really awesome RC for $300! If more people see this thing in action, Slash is going to have a serious problem! That being said, Your control of this Senton is awesome Rich! Great vid! Ordered a set of Pro-line shocks for mine as the stock ones leaked pretty bad on first run. Really expected it, so it’s not a big deal. I just stress how elated I am with this Senton over my Slash. It’s your fault, because of your video....🤣🤣👍👍
$300? If you don't want a battery & charger. That can be had for $70-100. Still worth it in my opinion. The overseas brands (zd racing, etc) are cheaper but their quality control is horrendous. Buy an Arrma and you'll be happy.

Do the 6s parts fit on the 3s, not seeing anything from GPM for the 3s.

Great vid! How are the typhon shocks working out? Have you tried the Mojave shocks on the Senton 3S? Also, couple Q's regarding putting Slash wheels on... I read that the fronts and rears of Slash wheels have different offsets; which would fit best? Also, any idea whether the Proline T/A KR2's on their Renegade wheels (@) fit on the Senton 3S with a 12mm adapter? Thx!
Just BADASS Senton bash brother!! Some KILLER jumps and flips! I can tell the Typhon shocks really helped! I built mine today. Just dug them out of a bag and pieced them together lol. On a drop test, she feels so much more planted. "Like a wet rag" is the term I like to use. Loved the Talion at the end! 😀💪💪👊🤘🤘🍻

Probably going on the Typhon 3👊. I'm looking at low frequency Tekno buggy springs. The ones on my Granite work great. I'm thinking the Typhon will need a lighter spring to really stay planted well🤔. The Talion was fun until my motor tab came completely unsoldered 😨...Lol. The grinding was my rear crown gear. Somehow the input survived. Hi! great jumping!! Just got a senton 3s running on 2s for now since its my first rc and its already plenty fast for me. But mine had 2 front (stock) shock leaks out of the box, there is a lot of wooble on one front wheel also that i dont know why and when i was running just my first lipo pack (5000mah 65C 7.4V) it sometime just stopped working with the ESC blink ( steering was responsive but no throttle and worked again after unplugging the battery)... In the manual it says that it would do that under certain temperature but it was on 2S after maybe 15 min, early spring sunny 15C outside and not 30C... So is that normal? ( i can fix the leaks and maybe the wooble of the wheel but everything is very new to me lol a bit weird having all those issue within my first run on a 450 CAD truck).

Thanks my friend 👊!!!! Many people have had success stopping the leaking by doing a shock rebuild with different seals. I kinda gave up and switched to V2 Typhon 6s shocks and Turnigy Trackstar 1/8 shocks on my other 3s rigs with lighter springs and 30-35 weight oils. Not sure on the ESC but try recalibrating it under "throttle setup" in the manual. You could also do a "factory reset" if necessary. Good luck with it. Should you keep having issues and your pack and temps are fine, consider doing a warranty through Horizon. 😎💪👊👊

Not sure you can still find V1-V2 Arrma 6s Typhon shocks. They had softer springs. You could use V3-V4 ones, but they've been out of stock at most discounters like Jenny's RC.jennysrc.com/collections/arrma-typhon-blx-6s

Hey Rich!!.. Will the proline body extenders work on Senton, instead of cutting the body to put the bigger tires on it. Also what spur do you recommend with bigger tires?
Rich, been enjoying your videos! I'm in a bit of a quandary trying to decide between a few trucks. I had about decided on a Big Rock, but then after seeing a couple of monsterized Sentons, I kind of think that I prefer the look of it. Not knocking the monster truck genre as they are designed to perform, but for my tastes they are a bit "cartoonish" in looks. So, I'm thinking that I prefer the more scale appearance of the Senton. But, then again, the larger tires of the MTs offer distinct advantages in certain areas... So, now I'm thinking of mod'ing a Senton with larger tires, trimmed body, etc... Just curious of your thoughts on a modded Senton vs. a Big Rock as a general purpose backyard track basher... No huge air like you're doing, just playing around on a backyard track with smaller jumps. Thanks for your insight and thoughts...
Thanks Michael 👊. I absolutely love my Senton in monster form. It's a complete animal with 20T stock pinion and bigger Granite wheels. The Big Rock is very capable and cuts through the air great off jumps....etc. It tends to flip a bit with the narrow stance. I think HR 1/10 hex extenders are a must. Either rig will make a great backyard basher. 🍻😎💪👊👊

It's awesome to see the typhon shocks as an upgrade keeping the arrma heritage, I'd love to see a shock tower upgrade, I'm just not a fan of the plastic look there , I'm gonna rebuild the four10sc , beat on that untill I can get my hands on a senton, pulling the lrp 550 size 3700kv and xr8plus outa the rock rey and dropping it in the four10 😶😶😶😶 ... if it fits 😆😆😆😆 I think it might🤞🤞🤞💪💪💪💪 , great to see you out having fun bro.

The first spot is in Elk Grove, CA. Unfortunately it's RC restricted. Sadly, the second spot, Township 9 bike park was leveled late last year for development 😝. We'll see if Sacramento parks dept comes through with a permanent park like they had talked about 5 years ago. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Basically....yes. I just used 2mm aluminum spacers behind the rod ends for better spring clearance and shrink tubing to take out some play at the towers. Again these were V2 Typhon shocks. The V3-V4 caps are a little different and springs slightly stiffer. 😎💪👊👊

Thanks so much Philip 😂!!! The stock motor plate has fixed options for 15, 20, and 26T pinions. Comes with a 20. Just got a Hot Racing motor mount that allows for mesh adjustment and a full array of pinion options. Just not sure on max pinion...etc. I might do some speed passes with my Typhon 3s 😱 when it shows up. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

I just purchased my first rc SCT.. I went with the Senton 3s Blx. I actually went to buy a Traxxas Slash and my local hobby shop didn't have the model I wanted so I got a Senton. I am soo happy I did. It"s a great car for beginners like me, but als good for someone with years in. One problem, there is a small delay from the time I pull the trigger to the time the car moves. How can I fix this.? Or should I upgrade the transmitter and receiver?Pleas help
Congrats on your Senton 3s 😱!!!! Make sure to calibrate the controller to the ESC under "throttle setup" per the manual. That should eliminate any delay. If you somehow bought the older version with the STX2 controller, I'd say replace it. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Which shock balls did you use for the rear? You mentioned traxxas parts...?
I used the stock Typhon 6s shock balls. Just added a little heat shrink to take up slop at the shock caps. Only Traxxas part I've used are the blue rubber sealed bearings for the slipper until getting Avid bearing kits. 😎💪👊👊

This is the stock 20T. Never had any heat issues with the bigger Granite 3s tires. Just crazy speed and better air control. You can only use so much power or you just wheelie up 🤣🤣😎💪👊👊

Think I left the stock 20T pinion in there. It can cog slightly over mounds from a standstill, but wasn't an issue overall 👍. Temps were fine too. 18T would also be good. 🍻😎💪👊👊

The M2C ZRS ARRMA upgrade is very nice though. Easy upgrade with way less bounce and better handling. That said, it's normal for the chassis to take impacts and slap. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

I raised the body mounts and cut the wheel wells significantly. FYI, the Big Rock 3s Ragnarok tires also work very well on this platform. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Yes indeed. The bigger Granite tires balloon on harder throttle and scrub the SCT body. I raised and trimmed it out, but still scrubs. 😎💪👊👊
Awesome awesome bash with the senton my friend. Super impressed with this rig. Affordable and tons of fun! I see huge difference in handling and air control with the granite tires on there bro. More stable and seems better for flips. I'm debating if I should pull the trigger on the big rock crew cab which has lots of similarly to the senton. Bash on bro. That was awesome bro.
Thanks so much Chris 😂!!! The bigger wheels have definitely helped with air control 😰. I chose the Granite over the BRCC mostly with skatepark in mind 😍. The BRCC likely gets the power down better and may work better at your bash spot🤔. The Senton floats and parachutes, not getting maximum distance with senders, but I'm still impressed and the fun factor is top notch 😍!!! The Senton has much more protection, too. RC choices can drive a sane man Crazy 😲😲...Lol. 🍻🤘🤘😅😅😅😎💪👊👊

The first spot is Elk Grove jump park. Unfortunately, they're pretty uptight about their no RC policy 😝. Place is packed with bikes since Covid. The 2nd spot was Township 9 bike park. It's now a flattened field of tumbleweeds thanks to the new land owners. Good spots have to be built on private property these days. Hopefully we'll start seeing City interest in mixed use jump parks. Sacramento parks dept was supposed to build a more permanent jump park, but haven't seen anything happening. 🍻😎💪👊👊

What metal shocks can I put on the granite I’m have troubles with the plastic ones leaking
Any 1/10-1/8 metal shocks the same length should work just fine. I'm very happy with these Typhon shocks and the Tekno buggy shocks I'm running on my Granite. The 3s rigs all use the same shocks. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

Yes I think I put the 15kg ADS ARRMA 4s servo in. Not sure they've still available now that ARRMA uses spectrum electronics 🤔. These rigs honestly don't need higher end servos. Power HD makes great budget servos. 😎💪👊👊
What's your favorite arrma vehicle to drive? I'm leaning towards the senton 3s or typhon.. what would you recomend. I recently got back into rc and bought a redcat landslide xte which I've been very impressed with. I bash it hard every day and it does well. These arrma trucks look solid though!
That's a tough call 🤔. The Senton is truly MAD fun. The Typhon rips and handles incredibly. I honestly don't have one pure favorite among my Arrmas. If I did, probably my Truggified Typhon 6s. 😎💪👊👊

I enjoy your vids. I have a senton 3s Alison with 2.8 dynatrax lockup’s and 15t on the way. I’m also thinking of getting the typhon shocks you’re using. I live on a farm...lots of rough terrain. I love those groomed tracks and parks you run.

Is a good idea to get a slash platinum chassis and build the rest up so it could 4s or 6s because of the stronger diffs?
It's not a bad idea, just a pricey one. I dumped a boat load of money 😨 into my Slash Platinum to handle 4-6s though when converting it into a Backslash. In hindsight, I remember thinking I should've just bought a Typhon 6s and had money to spare and a better RC 😕. The diffs on these 3s rigs have been problem free for me thus far. 😎💪👊👊
So granite 3s parts suspension wise fit the senton? Chubs, knuckles, a arms? Tower brace damper?
Most 3s parts are interchangeable 👍. Just realize the Senton uses the longer chassis. Same as the Typhon and Big Rock. Granite and Senton share arms while the Typhon and Big Rock are longer. 😎💪👊👊

It's a seasonal moss layer that grows in naturally. It's very slick. I slipped and hurt my back on it last year walking down a berm 😨. Tdogg also slipped and broke his controller 😲😲. I'm surprised the rigs actually get decent traction for how slippery the ground is. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

Do v4 typhon shocks work as well?
Yes they can, but the shock caps would need spacers as they have different standoffs 👍. The springs are a bit stiffer also. The bonus is they have 4mm shock shafts. 🍻😎💪👊👊

@@richduperbash2966 It's been 30 + years since I've been into RC, oh how the technology and designs have changed the hobby. I almost bought a Slash 2WD kit the other day so I could learn to build them again. After watching videos and realizing for $10 more I could get the ARRMA Senton 4X4 Mega I placed an order for the newer RTR kit, the Blue and White Tacoma looking body. Arrives within 10-14 days and I'm stoked. Gorging on so many ARRMA videos and all their models I'm glad I went with ARRMA. Now that Horizon Hobby purchased Pro-Line hopefully they'll be some aftermarket support for ARRMA and LOSI.

No modifications needed. Both use the same 14mm wheel hex. Just have to really trim the wheel wells for tire clearance 😎💪👊👊

How do you make it flip in air or stop flipping in the air?
You use harder throttle to backflip and brake to bring the nose down or level off. You use throttle to bring the nose up and either release of throttle or brake as needed. Always try to land squarely on all 4's and never land on hard throttle. It's very hard on the gears and diffs. 🍻

They're a front to front, rear to rear match in length with rears being longer. 🍻🤘🤘

Thanks and Congrats on your new Senton 3s👊!!!! I've already covered my recommended upgrades😊. Big thing is rubber sealed bearings in the slipper housing and input gears and GPM aluminum steering knuckles/blocks. Get onto the Facebook Arrma 3 and 4s group 👍. Loaded with different ideas and suggestions. 😎💪👊👊
