      Frilltropolis......anyways your collection my friend....wow. I’m am curious to how you obtained what in my opinion are unicorns where I live or even online or in the entire country. And of coarse I’m also considering price into this factor, I’ve been guilt of spending into the $30-$40 for a young Korean succulent so I’m not stingy but I am realistic. So could you maybe go into your collection of when you started, your story so to speak and what you think your investment (plants alone) if you’re willing to share. Lastly. Where do you get your plants. Lol and how do we get them stateside.

    The frilly area can be called "the sea anemones area" and a sea-scape diorama of marine life in a coral reef can be painted on the fence. Some succulents resembling marine life can be hung on the fence. For example, senecio string of pearls hanging basket will look like a jellyfish.

    Good day, I am from Trinidad W.I and I recently started looking at your videos. I have fallen in love with ECHEVERIAS. On my island it is either sun or rain. How do I battle with the rain if I plant a garden similar to yours. I am now getting into succulents.

    • @Cerriscapades
      @Cerriscapades  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there. With rain, you'll want to prepare your garden bed in such a way that the plants will get good airflow, and good drainage. You can achieve this by raising your bed a bit and using a loose soil mix. Making a slope or putting the plants at a slight tilt also helps with directing airflow to the plant. If the plant gets enough airflow, they won't stay wet for too long, and this will reduce the chances of fungi growing.
      I think I touched on it in this video: th-cam.com/video/o7XCMSu6rDA/w-d-xo.html
      As for the sun, as soon as it gets warm enough in summer (over 30°C / 86°F) I setup a temporary shade structure using shade cloth on top of them. Then remove it again after summer.

    • @Cerriscapades

      We don't have Blue Sky here in Australia. It's a hybrid based on Echeveria 'Imbricata', and we have lots of the Imbricata here. I can't remember exactly but I think the Blue Sky is a hybrid by Renee O'Connell in the USA. Probably under a patent, so you might only be able to purchase it from them (or any authorised resellers).

    The soil you are using has a lot of scoria and a little potting mix right?☺️👌Maybe in spring it would be fine to give the succulents some Osmocote slow release fertilizer to promote growth and flowering😊👍

    • @Cerriscapades
      @Cerriscapades  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I was thinking the same thing about giving them a boost in spring, especially since these are pretty young plants. They'll definitely benefit from it!

    Chuck, I think you are planting them too close together. They will grow quite large in the ground. Some of mine are 18 inches wide! Lovely variety of echeverias!

    • @Cerriscapades
      @Cerriscapades  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yeah haha trust me I know how big they can get. I have a few that are over 22 inches wide 😂
      I agree with you that they are a bit close together. But these are young plants and it is winter here so they won't be outgrowing their space anytime soon. I will definitely be removing some of them in summer, when they start growing rapidly, to make space. But as I mentioned in the video, my goal for this iteration is to see how they like this spot so I know what to do them in the next round of updates on this section.

      I actually started transcribing the captions/subtitles for my any new videos that I publish. It's an annoying task, and I'm hoping that this would annoy me too much that I would start shortening my scripts. That way I have to transcribe less.
