    I feel n believe this 70s - 80s body builders are the true definition of bodybuilding.They made it very safe,healthy and above all enjoyful unlike the current generation of bodybuilders it has become a fatal sport,unsafe and prone to permanent injuries.Hilarious part is you may end paying the ultimate price and joining the disability category in your last stage of retirement in life.once again this pioneer guys made bodybuilding beautiful n attractive may take this opportunity to profoundly thank you guys i may not be able to list all the names but to entire fretertanaty of bodybuilding back then.You are truly the ambassadors of bodybuilding,so please spread the right gospel iron.

      I think the over use of Insulin & HGH - IGH1 has taken away the sharp separation seen even through parts of the 90's also. 10 years ago the forums used to call it - the glazed donut look. Most great bodybuilders were under 225 pounds. Many of the bigger boned BBer's you see today couldn't have made it in the 70's & 80's. The ideal was always a med light bone structure with small joints & round muscle bellies. Lee Haney couldn't play football because his bone structure was too light for football but great for BBing. Insulin could be used effectively for pushing glycogen into the muscle on the day of a contest but that's it. It's how Ronnie used it pre - 2003. HGH in moderation can help but if the separation starts to blur or a gut starts to show, it's time to back off. I have great respect for guys like Dexter & Curry who still have super striated delts that weren't made by injecting oil. How can Big Ramy have all that muscle & hardly a striation across his chest. Srry for the rant but I find my eyes going to Classic Physique guys mainly because of all the intricate detail. To me, that is what draws my eyes.

    If one can look at the physiques of Frank Zane and Robby Robinson objectively, what did Zane ever have over Robinson? Arms? Chest? Back? I don't get it. And I don't want to hear about that "proportion" nonsense, either.

    • @tito16ism
      @tito16ism 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If anything the prince is more symmetrical and proportionate
      Smokes zane any day, they just wanted white champions when ever they could have one, Wayne Demelia admitted that in his interview

    The reason why the guys from the 70s and early 80s looked so good was because they weren't trying to get as massive as possible ,big yes ,they all had small waists and if they didn't like arnie and Mike Katz they used to twist to the side a little to make the mid section appear smaller ,some of these guys were perfect for the sport wide shoulders small joints good muscle bellies Robbie has one of the best upper body structures going he doesn't need to be 250lbs at 210 - 220 he would destroy the competitors his overall shape was just awesome

      HERE he is at 70 years old guest posing in amazing shape less than a year before I made this video. LINK: facebook.com/jaysgymbolton/videos/70-year-old-bodybuilding-legend-the-black-prince-robbie-robinson-guest-posing-to/532829253556035/ Even though I competed as a teen in the early to mis 2000's my favorite eras are the 90's & 80's. My mentor/coach was 15 years my elder so I was exposed first to the 80's & 90's bodybuilding magazines. Even today, my eyes are drawn to crazy separation/striations over drug induced bulk. Robby's era had it right because they still displayed plenty of size but the detail & shape made up for the difference in size plus they had long careers. Just look at all the guys that half to drop out because their bodies can't hold up to the toxicity of modern BBing. Dallas, Justin Compton, Josh L from Australia & so on. Even Luke Sandoe had heat issues at 30 even though he may have taken his own life the family confirmed their was heart issues. Robby had a super long career winning the Over 200 pound Mr. Olympia in 1977 & 78 - Two NOC titles in the late 70's - several titles in his early 40's in the late 80's where he was probably at his all time best. Reached his all time peak in his 40's is just amazing. Winning the 1st Masters Mr. OLympia in his late 40's & 2 over 50 Mr. OLympia titles in 1997 & 2000. The only reason he didn't other years is because they didn't award an over 50 title.

    Why isn’t he talked about more??? He’s a legend!

    • @KCDarin
      @KCDarin  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He's still talked about quite a bit & is often on his IG account with updates. The lack of views is people not aware of this video. If a video isn't monetized it gets hidden because of the vast number of videos daily. I understand that TH-cam is a business so I am not upset at all. If this was recommended it would have 100,000 views at least. Just one of my videos that got monetized for a 3rd party has 1/2 million because it is recommended to the masses.

    Nice video. Says a lot about his tenure and what he brought to the bodybuilding world. When he arrived in California in 1974-75, he represented being an outsider, being black from the south, and a threat to the status quo that Weider and Arnold and Franco and the rest the pumping iron crew were building. Its easy to see the awkwardness in the clip where Arnold is "encouraging" Robinson to pose at the party. He was awkward and uncomfortable, and he was like sideline entertainment to Arnold and his friends...Robinson was top of his game in his own right, and didn't need validation from all of those other guys who weren't as aesthetic and muscular like him. Not Franco, not Zane, not Waller, etc. The only other top black guys of the time were Sergio Oliva, and Serge Nubret, who didn't train in California, nor even came from the US, and won big titles offshore. Rick Wayne, born in the US, did not achieve the status that these guys did.

    The excuse the judging panel always uses for Robinson to not have won the Olympia is he had weak calves or he missed his peak and showed up a bit soft. A bit soft in his case is way better than the guys he competed against, to include Arnold.

    Good day to you Mr. Robinson. I'm an exceptional analyst and my judgment is fair. Since I've seen you recently I've come to the conclusion that the bodybuilding industry is a HUMUNGOUS fraud first of all. Secondly you're the GREATEST bodybuilder ever existed and you know it but keep quiet, because you don't want to appear sour grapes to the audience but let me tell you that I know what you know that you're the GREATEST. I can see and feel through my site and know more in depth according your knowledge, discipline diet, positive Spirit and especially the most hardworking bodybuilder. ... So for all that there's nothing to show or prove. You're purely passion driven. Thirdly what I've noticed about bodybuilding is that this is none other than self worshipping. Bodybuilders are their own gods. ... Now Mr. Robinson, I just want to warn you about this matter. In order to receive ETERNAL LIFE in HEAVEN one must sacrifice one self for JESUS CHRIST which means one must turn against one self selling the sinful one self out in order to accept JESUS CHRIST as your LORD and SAVIOUR. All demons will flee once the HOLY SPIRIT enters you after the BAPTISM underneath water. Have a BLESSED day further Mr. Robinson.

    If I'm gonna loose this gut I gotta stop eating mothers iced oatmeal cookies, I will eat 7 in the morning laying in bed and another 7 at night, then when those are gone I get the new Fat Boy Ice Cream sandwich, oh brother if you haven't tried the crunchy Fat Boys you missing out, Robby Naver eats this crap so he motivates me starting today to cease and Desist from eating crap.

      Dieting is tough for everyone but the one thing that makes it easier is to not bring the junk food into where you live. If I had a girlfriend or roommate who ate junk when I was dieting I would tell them to hide their cookies or candy bars..Serious! Can't do much about Ice cream products but make sure you are full when you go shopping.

      Get out your calculator.. PLEASE! He's 74 - In March of 1998 he was 51 like I stated. In 1988, I stated he was 41 or 42 depending on whether the contest was before or after May, 1988. No need for an apology..everyone makes mistakes.
