  • Many cultures have a light festival like Hannuka & Diwali. Thadingyut is what it is called in Myanmar. I filmed this Lighting Festival at Swhedagon Pagoda Yangon Myanmar. Even more special, filmed during Golden Hour so the light was already warm and glowing. Combined with the gold of the Pagoda the effect is stunning.Unlike other videos, I've focused on the people of Myanmar, bringing you closer to the warmth and spirit of their special day. It's not just about the visuals, but the people and the magic atmosphere and the magical interactions that happened to me that make this video unique. There's a surprise waiting as I leave through the western gate-a hidden spiritual community invites me in, revealing part of Shwedagon Pagoda nobody has captured. It's a beautiful secret that I'm excited to share with you at the end of the video. There's something magical about this place, and I've tried to capture its essence in this video.

I wanted to make a special video, not just another generic vlogger video with 0 understanding or heart. Now I look back at this a few months later, I can feel that I put my heart into it. I still feel the same emotions as when I made this video. At the time I was a little shy that maybe it was too emotional. But now I know being real and true and honest always works best. Since I made this video Myanmar brought even more blessings into my life. So I believe in Myanmar magic. I am so grateful for my life so far.

I loved my visit to Shwedagon Pagoda. I visited July and I think there was a holiday that day, but I forgot the name of the holiday.

I am from Burma.. I apologize on behalf of the judgemental people... I believe there are also alot of people that appreciate your content... You can't please everyone... Just keep doing your thing for the ones that appreciate you... For your information if don't already know, Thadingyut is a time to celebrate Lord Buddha descending back to the mortal world to visit and people welcome him with beautiful lights and lanterns... There is more things to explain about the origin but I loosely explained it 😊...

You are so lovely. Actually most people in person are incredible to me here in Myanmar. I will show more and more of that in my videos. Its just a lot of 'angry young men' who had to leave Myanmar that write their anger in my comments. I love being in Myanmar the people are so wonderful to me. I understand all you are trying to say. And I tried to capture all that in my video. That night magic happened to me. And also again tonight for Deepavali. I also made another video, this one showing more of how people give their love to me in small beautiful ways.

Mingalabar! Splendid Video Miss Liza. I was there about one month ago, second time (first in 2019). This pagoda, the temples, the people, it is so touching, good for the heart and the soul. Your quality of video is really great: can I ask you iwhich IPhone did you used?). The fact that you move slowly make the images lovely; it seems you make it bigger also and it does show a great great quality. Congratulations and thank you for that! I wish to come back. It is so magical. The beautiful dress, colors, calm people walking, the monks, tanaka.... so clean.... Thank you this lovely rendering of this place. I wish to work there one day too, so I could appreciate even more the country and for my inner peace and health. Your journey is well describe and I totaly understand what your saying. I enjoyed your many videos very much. * Last time I went to the fantastic site of the Golden Rock, it was an absolutely mesmerising spiritual experience. ** Have you had the priviledge also to visit Bagan? All the best Miss Liza and Love to All. François from Canada

My goodnes. I am so touched by your message and I can feel you have many of the same warm feelings I have about here. And you understood how and why I was filming the way I did. What a lovely connection we have. I just use an ordinary iPhone 12. But I have been watching a lot of TH-cam videos to learn how to film better. My next challenge is learning how to talk to the camera. But I don't want to make those awful walking and talking vlogs every traveller does. So its hard to find the right balance as a learner TH-camr. It is quite tricky to get around outside of Yangon. I need to rely on local Myanmar friends to help me with that as not a lot of services are running as people were hit by the pandemic and coup sadly.

    Hi Miss Liza,
One of your subscribers here. Also happens to be a Burmese. I do appreciate your contents about Myanmar. Just one criticism tho. When you stop and talk to the camera, it's a bit awkward to watch to be honest. Maybe because you are still at the initial stage of blogging. However, it doesn't feel like the authentic vibe of watching a blog but rather an anchor reporting a random topic. I believe you watch others blogging contents as well. So, you might already be familiar with those types of blogging styles I aforementioned. I would rather like you to talk to the camera while walking and interacting simultaneously. Just that one.
Hope you don't mind. Thank you for your appreciation and contributions for my country. ❤

yes. They have expensive cameras and help. I'm alone and filming on my phone. Hope that helps explain. Also i hate those lazy old school vlogs where is 20 minutes of boring unedited footage all at the same eye level and someone rambling nothing interesting. TH-cam has something for every type of viewer, so enjoy!
