      Couldn't agree more! We seem to have lost our way somewhere along this whole modernity path since Descartes, Sartre et al.

      Blatant individualism - this is the feature of Western civilization that lies at the root of the absence of communal spirit in the West. Self absorption is another cause. And ways back, industrialization perhaps also - for it created economic wealth so that dependence on one another lessened and each individual could afford to go his/ her own way, splitting the bond and bridge between people.

    Wonderful Shin Pyu occasion , I only became a monk for 7 days after my fathers death to honour him. My dad was part of WW2 war with the Japanese and also loved to kill birds later in his life. To Atone for his sins he devoted to Buddhism . No one will ever truly understand
