I am only small , but on a pavement with a slight gradient it feels like it might topple oever on it's side ?

Hi Tilly,
Most small scooters are pretty good with gradients. The feeling your getting is the body roll from the suspension.
It's like you said a "felling" and by using your scooter, and always taking the least line of resistance over any ground, you should be fine, and as time goes on it will build your confidence up.
