  • Hello friends,
It’s been a long time since I have filmed a proper sit-down video, but in many ways, this was relatively cathartic to film. I was diagnosed with Secondary Addison’s Disease or Adrenal Insufficiency on January 12th last year, and now, my life is transformed and different. Better, but not automatically easy.
Today I wanted to chat about the interactions of chronic illness, autism and mental wellbeing - and how these different components often work against one another.
I hope you enjoy - leave your thoughts in the comments down below!
    Talk soon,
    Jen x

My 10 year old is currently in the hospital, had a crisis. I’m waiting on my bloodwork to come back. We have both been suffering for years with no answers. Logging is a great idea! It’s something I was doing before the diagnosis because we couldn’t figure out what was wrong with us. One thing the nurse said to us when explaining the med dosage was that emotional stress won’t affect it. That made no sense to me so I’m very glad you mentioned that in the video and I’ll have to ask more about that. Both my son and I deal with anxiety. God bless you on your journey, life is so extremely difficult in this broken world, I just cling to faith in Jesus and a much better life after this one ❤

Oh I am so hoping that you and your child are well now. Or as well as any of us can be when handling all of this! I don't understand how to separate emotional and physical stress - and my body certainly doesn't know the difference!

This gives me a greater idea of what you are going through. Dealing with chronic pain is hard to explain to someone who doesn't experience it every day. Bone deep pain IS a thing. Know you are always outJennifer, regardless of any mental or medical problems. You're so talented that I'm always in awe. ❤ Your 'family' across the ocean.

Thank you so much Dyann. You know, I don't think I've ever met someone else who truly knows what it is to have deep bone pain and somehow, there's a necessary kinship in that. I should have known I'd find it in a soul such as yourself. ❤

Thank you for this video, Jen. I now have a better grasp of how you traverse the challenges that you encounter. Being so conscious of the more minute aspects of your daily life, as opposed to the way so many of us just let things happen without much thought, is something I'm absolutely not familiar with. I now understand much more. At this point in my own life, I am finding that I need to be much more aware of those minute aspects. Aging seems to mandate that. Thank you again. ❤

Oh dear, you have no idea how much I needed to see a message like this! I think I probably should explain the complexities of the situation to people more, but often I like to pretend I can handle it all. I love you and Dyann very much ❤
