It’s good and the red isn’t bad, it’s just different than all the crimson they are going for. Again another reason I say these are not part of the Classified line.
I agree the shade of red they used doesn't fit in well if you want to display with the mainline figure. Also you are right, the package is way too big and could have been shrunk down and still capture the retro vibe they are going for. Nice review.
In my collection, the Retro version will serve as officers (the silver mask makes it stand out to me) and the regular classified version will be the troopers. I love the Retro version: very close to Sunbow’s interpretation. Until we get a CG officer ( one can only hope, right?), they will be the squad leaders.
I’ve heard people say that, but in reality, cause the crimson color is different than all the others including the twins, he should be a training crimson guard.
I agree and wished they keep the crimson guard crimson instead of red and made him an officer with different silver highlights or a gold tassel or something. He’s still ordered, but I wish he meshed better with the line.
I think the reason he's red instead of crimson is to pay homage to the original Crimson Guard from 1985. Some were a lighter red and others a darker, more crimson red.
@@Apunkwithtoys oh I agree! I just meant we don't have to deal with 'Walmart Exclusives' being shipped shoddily. I can't fault the figures released so far 🙂 The only one I don't have atm from the line is Zartan.
Nicely done Punk! I love the wrap up brother! I wonder if Hasbro intentionally uses a different plastic in the weapons on these as these are more for adult collectors as they are tugging on the nostalgia string????
Thank you, it is something I am going to try and remember to work into my reviews. Yeah they really need to change the age range or use the same plastic they used on let’s say the Alley Vipers weapons.
Still waiting but after seeing this, I’m just going to keep one for the squad leader…the different reds is so messed up but I’ll have to work through up…just went from three to one…🤷🏻♂️
I also feel the same way about the m4 rifle that's why I gave it to Sergeant slaughter and gave the AK-47 to the crimson guard something just fits better that way
I was able to find four of the figures on Walmart. My Zartan came damaged the rest of the cards are great. So I’ll take that as a win. I still need the other remaining retrocards that came out recently
Nice review. I prefer the classified box version. I think I have 21 of them open now. As for the retro release I have four of them opened and I use them as serpentors personal guard. Crimson guard is one of my favorite Cobra troop builders.
@@Apunkwithtoys yeah man if I had a way to show you all of them or post a picture. I certainly would. I have them marching in a formation. There are some variations on the original ones as far as slight difference in color and different sized necks. I can't remember who did a TH-cam video on it. Again I have ten or fifteen vintage and I could show you some of the differences if I had a way.
I don’t mind the m4 rifle for the crimson gaurd. Western made rifles sometimes have an association with being a higher quality weapon than a Soviet block rifle. There is many of films where some South American dictators regular army is using Aks and then his presidential guard has m4s. To me this that’s kinda what we’re seeing here. A bit of a homage to that villainous weapon loadout.
Looks very cool man. I pre-ordered a lot of this version of the Crimson Guard 😀✌️💡

i like seeing every accessory in the bubble, i just wish the card back was better, but i will buy everyone of these! have a great weekend!
I understand seeing all the accessories and even if they wanted to do that they could make it smaller utilizing the space better.
@@Apunkwithtoys the size doesn't bother me but would like the file cards be improved
5:32 the bayonet being deployed shows a more ceremonial mos for the guard.
Possibly, not sure if that was the original idea but it sure could have been.
Great review mate! I actually don't mind those colors!
Colors aren’t bad, just different
Another awesome review ❗
Great video! I just got the retro crimson guard. I definitely like it better than the classified. I like the OG color and Sliver mask black visor.

They could either cobra commanders guards or serpentors guards

Yeah but he crimson is the thing that gets me but we are getting a Python Patrol version so 😂

The only nice thing about these retro carded figures in the UK is that they're not exclusives. Least not yet by any means!
That’s the only nice thing about them? I think there’s a lot to like about them so far.

Always top notch packaging!!! 😂
😂😂😂😂 yep
The fun of getting these in the mail is wondering how the packaging is damaged. There's a point scale
I myself don’t care about the box and neither do they🤣🤣

i got the soft plastic arm issues on both of mine. otherwise i love how they look.
I don’t think they’re soft, just not like a Valaverse.
I like it, I looked on the Walmart website, and I couldn't find this one
I like the chrome mask better than the black one
I don’t like it more, but I like that it’s different from the Classified release.

Damn dude you’re a baller. 21. Whoa that’s some heft cash dropped. How are you on your cobra officers, Cobra Troopers and Cobra infantry?
Cobra symbol or bottle opener?🙂
The rifle is fn fal with bayonet.
😂
Classified is the one to have
So these are bigger than the other exclusive Walmart retro 3.75 line they did with the vehicles ?
Yes, these are built off the Classified 6inch line. The 4inch line is not being produced by Hasbro right now.

So... your complaint is that the retro carded fig uses retro colors instead of using the same color of the standard box classified release?!? 🤨🧐😒
It doesn’t use retro colors, didn’t you see the side by side’s I did of it?
