- Project Dream is about bringing back the Nintendo 64 games Banjo-Kazooie & Banjo-Tooie back to life through a series of nostalgic cinematic trailers.
Rusty Bucket Bay is the eighth world in Banjo-Kazooie. It consists of a cargo steamboat called The Rusty Bucket, its dangerous internal workings, rooms on the ship itself, and the polluted water and harbor that surrounds it. The entrance to this world is located on the seventh floor of Gruntilda's Lair, through an underwater passage. However, the water level is too low on the duo's first visit and requires the water level switch in the graveyard section of Gruntilda's Lair to be activated first. Its picture is located high above the entrance through a small alcove. This can be reached either by activating the second water switch in the same room or by swimming into the next room and finding another tunnel with a breakable grate. Both lead to the same area and the picture is behind a breakable grate. The picture requires 12 Jiggies to complete.

That ending shot of the Rusty Bucket out at sea was just beautiful.
Now we can experience failing the engine room again and again in breathtaking 4K.
The water at the end looks so real.
I adore the design and music of this level, hate the gameplay though

Click clock wood would do some numbers though- the music alone is widely beloved by players and non players alike
the wall textures for the lair are my favorite thing in all of videogaming. the color pallets used, making the green really pop and putting faces all over- its still my favorite texture
That FUCKING engine room, man. Played it back at age 10, experienced my first ever rage quit.
I'm still traumatized.

One of my favourite levels ever.
I love everything about it, from the Jiggies to the map design and theme.
Everything industrial and I'm in.
That's why I also adore Grunty Industries
Grunty Industries Would be Great to see in this Style too, but i reckon that one would take a lot of work.
Just the sight of the engine room made me whimper and cry.

The dreaded engine room gave me chills for two reasons - this rendering of it is stunning, and all my memories of death ☠️.
Excellent work! This turned out great! I really do enjoy industrial areas as the machinery looks so cool. It would be interesting if in a remaster version, Rusty Bucket sailed out to sea where the final boss waited.
Speaking of which, I'd love to see Grunty Industries from Banjo Tooie. Not many people seem to like this level, but I bet a remastered version would look great. Of course if you plan on doing one game at a time, then I'd also like to see Clanker's Cavern.
I loved how massive it was and how maniacal they made the industrial world look.
I love the beachside homes in the background! It would be really cool if you could see Grunty Industries behind Rusty Bucket Bay.
I would definitely love to see Grunty Industries next. I always loved how the sun looked on the roof. RayTracing would make it look gorgeous.

Thank you OP for making these. They take me back to some of my favorite video game memories. We should see if the people who remastered Donkey Kong 64 would help with remastering Banjo!!! (Although, I'm more partial to a Banjo Tooie remake than a Banjo Kazooie one, but would be delighted with either)

This looks so amazing! I love/hate this level mainly because of that darn engine room lol. Seeing this and your other ones make me want to play this game again. It was one of my most favorite N64 games.

This is an absolutely phenomenal piece of work you're doing. Though I can't help but wonder, is there any end-goal in mind beyond just all these showcases? It would be amazing to be able to explore these incredible worlds you have made, even without any real gameplay to go with them. Banjo-Kazooie was such an important piece of so many childhoods, and you are doing god's work.
...I'd also love to see Glitter Gulch Mine redone. Its always been my favorite level.
P.S. How this hasn't gotten more of a following is beyond my understanding. Its glorious.

Still to this day, I wake up most nights in a cold sweat and screaming. The panic attacks have become a daily occurrence. The stress and anxiety caused my wife to leave, taking the kids as well. I've been unable to function due to the constant hallucinations I see during the day, which has cost me my job. I had to declare bankruptcy and my house is in foreclosure.
Everything in my life has been falling apart in a slow and steady downfall, but one thing consistently remains the same: my dreams are always haunted by the engine room.

It sounds like one of those orchestral compositions that you would hear at Game Awards if a Banjo-Kazooie remake were in contention for Game of the Year.
I love what you have done here, it looks so clean and crisp. A very nice upgrade. I'm not as into the lighting, might just be the HDRI not being my thing.

I loved the level for the realism I saw with rooms inside the ship. I felt the real world was made so unique and campy. I loved the sailors with their uniforms and the ventilation shafts that would chomp on me. I would love to see Grunty Industries done like this or the glorious Jolly Roger's Bay done this way.

The modern special effects in the old school polygonal environment is what I absolutely adore the most in these. The additional fauna, smoke, sparks, etc. Like watching on screen what my brain told me this game looked like when it released. It's incredible

Could you do any more worlds as I loved what you did with Rusty Bucket Bay (especially the ocean at the end). I tell you if they do a remake that's how the world's should be like. You've done a great job and I will be watching this video again.
Just saw the clankers cavern video and had to see if there was a remade rusty bucket bay too. This was satisfying.

I would do anything to run around this amazingly well done remastering of one of ny favorite Banjo Kazooie levels. I have my faith in you putting some efforts into a fan remastered Banjo title, or maybe two. Considering how much progress you've made recreating the maps. I'm just gonna cross my fingers and subscribe. Because, MAN do I love your remastered maps!
