'Rocky' the Monk seal attacks swimmer at Kaimana Beach

- Beach goers at Kaimana Beach said they heard Rocky panicking in the morning - barking back and forth looking for her pup. After five minutes, they said she found her pup near the Natatorium. Shortly after, the mother seal charged at the nearest swimmer.

Swimmer needs to have charges pressed she ignored signs. Right now I think the beach needs to be closed until further notice. Wild life needs to be first right now.

She entered to water in a safe area, then lost her bearings I heard, then got carried into the seal nursey by a slight rip

There’s another article that said the swimmer and her husband have been in Hawaii for the past 3 weeks, so they knew it was closed off but she still swam through…smh

On a more serious note: *Hawai'i is still very much a sacred land. She deserves so much better than what has been inflicted on her for over a century. As a Native Hawaiian woman it disgusts me how our beautiful nation has been reduced to a fricken vacation theme spot!! This is not news to locals but enough is enough. The US state government has been oppressive more than anything! Where is the homes built for Native Hawaiians that been waiting for decades, some already make (died) waiting for a home. Our land polluted with western BS propaganda. The land, the culture, our people have been violated so badly.
