Dealerships should be legally obligated to warn customers when these shortages exist so new customers know what they are getting themselves into or else its almost criminal

My Lexus last year sat at the dealership repair shop from the beginning of August to mid October. Rear window was on back order. My insurance covered 1 month of a rental. I asked the dealership for a loaner and they offered to compt me 13 days worth of a rental. The rest of the time, it came out of my pocket. They were also nice enough to give me a discounted daily rate. I had no idea the rental car prices had skyrocketed. A compact car which almost everywhere started at $19.99, was now $100 a day.

Have them verify which parts, then ask for the inventory shipping records from the Honda Parts Distribution Center located at 4525 W Royal Ln, Irving, TX 75063, one of 12 in the US. I mean... we ship 19 trucks a day, 5 days a week all over TX,OK,AR,CO and LA.

I can relate to this man’s pain. Hence I will never ever go to a dealership for repairs and service. It happened to my vehicle in June of 2021. My vehicles catalytic converter was going bad, oil consumption and bad engine performance. Repairs cost me 4000 and I gave it to dealership in June and I didn’t get it back until September. And worst part of it was the dealership kept giving me excuses about the parts not being delivered on Time, they didn’t even have a loaner vehicle. Very frustrating I was at my wits end. In the end I ended up selling the vehicle on Facebook for 4200. I will never deal with these people again my biggest mistake was trusting them I feel your pain sir.

Honda is garbage when it comes to part availability now. Heard another story of an Acura that needs to wait 3 months for PAINT! I’ve been having to eat all the payments not only for my car, but also for my insurance for a vehicle that hasn’t touched pavement for almost a year. Unbelievable.

I had a feeling in the past few weeks that new car parts were not plentiful. But I had no idea it was that bad, and they have a stack up of cars. . But I did think this week it is good that I have a mainstream car. A 2005 Acura TL with a widely used 3.2L motor and it has had plenty of time to hit the aftermarket for parts and modifications. I think I will be keeping my car for a while since prices are crazy high.

They're so quick to report any missed or late payments, to impact your credict so they know we have to keep those payments paid if we don't want blemishes on our credit. All vehicles should have insurance on them, period! When buying from a dealership, the contractual agreement binds you to keeping full coverage insurance on the vehicle for the entire time of the loan. We set our insurance to be taken out like the car payment we don't see it; so we don't miss it. All together for the truck note and insurance we are out of over $870 per month for the last 6 months with no resolution in sight. They only recently assigned us a Customer Experience Agent who's supposed to "make our experience run smoother during this process and keep us informed about dates of expected parts or if something changes on our case". The case worker doesn't want to talk about the reimbursement of our 6 months worth of payments which they've had it longer but 6 will be good +reimbursement for my insurance payments on my vehicle that they wouldn't even allow us to suspend for the time being until the issue was resolved, I was really upset. To add insult to injury they lost the Ford F150 Key that the tow truck dropped in the night box on weekends or after-hours when they're closed. The dealership says they never got a key, spoke with management he tried to tell me there was no after hour services or no drop box the tow truck driver basically lying.🤔🤔 I called my husband because he's out of town working in that area to help get a sister plant more structured and make things better. I called and asked him about the layout of the car lot and the location of the Dropbox. My husband informed me there's a sign with a number for the tow truck drivers to call after hours for someone to open the gate if they need to bring a vehicle in. I called management back immediately the next morning and before I could say anything he was apologizing for what he had told me but I still provided him a run down of what I knew, he acknowledged the ladies at the front desk did forget to check the Dropbox that day. He was supposed to get back with me after he checked the drop box and looked for the key, but he never did. I eventually spoke with the service manager that following day b/c the other manager was now on "vacation", and the service manager proceeds to tell me that everything that the other manager had been being completely dishonest and not being truthful about placement of people's vehicles and where they are in line to be fixed. I said "so let me get this straight you're saying your co-worker the other manager I spoke with on Thursday and Friday has been pretty much lying to me and giving me the run around this entire time"? He further informs me they don't have my main key to the F150 that was dropped in the dropped box when the tow truck delivered the vehicle to the lot. The 2 ladies at the front desk never once checked the Dropbox, the service manager confirmed. The dealership previously had denied replacing our main key to the truck, they agreed at cost of a new key. Of course, I refused in my best professional southern country accent ever; letting them know they will be replacing my key by choice or through my legal representation if this is where they want to take it to. They don't get to treat people any type of way we're trying to live just like they are.

Most of the parts are made in Asian countries except the engine and transmission. If anything the Republicans are making importing these goods harder, so you can blame them. Just look at Trump's trade war with China causing supply issues back when he was president. He even tried to impose auto tariffs on vehicles made outside of the US. Good thing he was voted out before it could go into act otherwise we would be in a deeper hole we're already in.
