You are really wrong man. This is a quality of service issue. No different than buying a premium vehicle or eating at a luxury restaurant. $3,600 is good money, from a perfectionist like TB12, a better experience is expected. Especially since it’s light lifting for him to take an extra 3.5 seconds per signature and make his superfans happy. Forget the resale value that’s silly. Even a half effort would have avoided this entire issue. Never again
Well like I said, their expectations differed from reality. And all these people blaming Tom Brady and getting mad at him are ridiculous. If I was him I’d never do another event for these ungrateful losers.
@@biiigsportsguy6148he absolutely would be nothing if it weren’t for his fans so please stop saying that. We were told something specific and it didn’t deliver…
In my opinion, this is a bad take. When you pay a premium price for an event like this, you should be allowed to carry expectations that what you receive from the event (service) aligns with the price point.
I’m not going to say you are wrong or right. Im just going to say I think the point is missed. A few years ago, I paid for a photo op and signing event with Jerry Rice. I was 33 at the time. Jerry had been my idle and inspired me to work hard for everything I did. I spent weeks trying to decide what I wanted him to sign and eventually I decided on an official NFL football. The photo op went great. He was quick but very respectful and caring. Then when it was time for the auto, I handed him the football. I didn’t have to say anything because Jerry Rice asked me where I wanted him to sign. So I pointed to a spot and then he held the ball away and did kind of a practice “air signature” over the spot he was going to sign. Then he pulled the ball closer and signed a beautiful signature of just the perfect size on the ball. We shook hands again and it was done. That whole interaction, including a practice signature, took less than 20 seconds. I know this because my friend with me filmed it. I know Tom Brady is a busy many but even if he put half the effort Jerry Rice did, he could have done all 100 in less than 20 minutes. The point is, it’s about making a memorable moment for your fans. Give them something they can display proudly. That’s what collectors do. If I got a signature like the one Brady did, I would be bummed and wouldn’t want to display simply because it really doesn’t look nice. You mention George Pickens and I agree that his signature is terrible. But we complain about all these new guys and their awful signatures. I would think Brady is above that and I feel sorry for those that got a signature with minimal effort.
From what I heard this situation is completely different. The event you attended was an autograph event. This was a speaking engagement with a meet and greet option to attend at a premium price. I heard 90% of the people attended were resellers. I’m not against resellers but these guys all knew and exploited this event. These guys knew that if they paid 3,600 they’d get what would cost at least 10k to get signed. They got the 3,600 dollar auto in my opinion. Let’s be real if you know someone who’s taking advantage of you how would you feel. When I first heard what happened I was pissed and the heard the real story and totally got it. This event was a cluster F*** and it was for a small meet and greet and a picture with Tom. Tom is cool and was probably shocked what he saw. Just my 2 cents
@@tapeit8135 I absolutely agree that there were plenty of people there just trying to make a profit. It seems a little extreme to assume 90% but let’s go with it. That means 10% were legitimate fans that walked away being treated like resellers. 10% paid for a once-in-a-lifetime experience only to be lumped in with resellers. 10% probably spent weeks deciding on the perfect item to have him sign so they could display it at home. Just seems like an odd choice to treat everyone like a reseller instead of a fan. In the end, it just leaves people bummed.
These people are upset because they spent $3,600. Now, if Tom Brady wanted to do this for free for kids then I can understand people shouldn’t be upset. But Tom Brady knew that people were gonna buy tickets for $3,600 for this experience. So if Tom really cared about his fans like you’re saying he does, then he shouldn’t be charging at all. Therefore, people shouldn’t also get upset of the shitty quality of signature.
This is a moronic take. First, not everyone is flipping their items (bad assumption). Next, Brady didn’t participate in this event out of the kindness of his heart - he was PAID. And the people who attended PAID, and included was a signature - that was what was advertised anyway. There is NO EXCUSE for treating fan items this way! The price of admission included an autograph. Brady ruined a lot of rare and meaningful items. Oh, and no one from Fanatics was even there - this is all on Brady! Get your facts straight before posting.
Guys who were at the event said fanatics showed up. It also was not advertised that Brady would sign exactly where you wanted on the item with a specific marker. He also didn’t say he’d sign it with his very best signature. Get your facts straight before you comment.

It is very real he did just scribble on very rare items however he did fulfill his obligation to sign the items, even if autograph is less than his best quality, just answering this as yes this really did happen it was a well publicized event
Most of the people who are upset were going to sell the items. I’m glad he didn’t sign the cards. They were going to grade it right after. It’s Tom Brady, he knows how much his signature is worth. It’s like Michael Jordan, he doesn’t sign either.
I think the issue I have with everything is if Tom really signed an agreement which stated items needed to be pre-approved before he signed them, then he shouldn't have signed ANYTHING. That would have made a lot more sense then signing items horribly. You said it yourself in the video, it's unclear what the contract was even for before he DID sign the items! If Tom didn't sign anything, I'd put the blame on the promoters, but since he did but did them horribly, I do think Tom has to take some of the blame.
I don't think you understand. The issue was that the items that they had signed were worth more than the signature, and now they are ruined because of the quality of the item. The TPA wont even recognize these as an actual tom Auto because of the quality.
Brady was contracted to speak, take photos and sign books and photos exclusively, that turned into a Fn collectible show.
