    previous videos...ugh... First off, Im grateful and I appreciate your teachings: I have to say, it gets discouraging to follow you, when you always say " I explain in previous videos".. yes, I get it. why repeat if you already explained/ recored the process. .true..why repeat.. its just tough to be Here, and follow. when you always say "I already showed how in another video."......lol/. I guess thats your thing..and I'll have to watch All videos Again, I appreciate all you give.. Its something I felt compelled to comments about. wonder if there is another way....But, hey, you give so much, I can just go back.. ( first world problems! lol)

      Yeah, I get it. In recent videos, I attempt to do this less. I have also come to think that each video should be as self-contained as possible.
      Retargeting is a rather complex subject tho, so the first video is the basis for the rest. If you look at the full playlist you'll see that the whole thing was meant as a course, rather than as individual videos. But it is difficult to convey that on YT because people find the videos randomly.
      Sigh. Doing my best, mate. Hope you understand :)

      @@CGDive hey I totally understand and thank you so much. I didn’t mean to come down on your heart. You’re literally giving away free information and helping so many people. And I appreciate that. You explained it very well and I totally understand. I’ll have to go back and check the whole playlist and look at it from my full tutorial type of viewpoint. But I think you’re right self-contained videos are may be the best way. And if the people already know the information or have watched your previous videos,…
      Then will just have to go through it or skip past the parts they already know. But unfortunately, I do think we have to spoon feed every part. Or else you could just refer people to go back to other videos. It’s just a little bit tough because it’s like a ping pong. Anyway, you’re doing great thanks I really appreciate you.

    When I use the same bone twice, "Duplicate target bone entries found! Please use each target bone only once''

      With Rokoko? Are you using the newest version of the addon?

    I tried Retargeting Between two rigify rigs With different scales , and the result is as terrible as Appending animations directly on model , At least when you Appending an Animation you have to fix few keyframes but in retargeting whole animation is baked.

    What if you only have IK and you dont have an FK hand/foot control?

  • @velkyngame

    Hey there! Sorry if this is slightly off-topic: I have an ARP Rig and I have exported it as a .fbx for Unity. In Unity it's set to Humanoid and I mostly use Mixamo animations. However, these animations are not optimized to my rig (foot placement slightly offset for example). In your opinion, what would be the best way to make the animations fit my custom rig? Do you have a video tutorial for that?
    Oh, and I would like to buy you a coffee (or two). Where is the best place to do that? Gumroad? Thank you for your awesome videos!

    • @CGDive
      @CGDive  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not a heavy Unity user so I can't say fore sure.
      Generally I would use my Retargeting workflows in Blender to transfer the animations but that may not be what you want or need.
      Thanks for your support! I do have a bunch of stuff on Gumroad, yes toshicg.gumroad.com/

    Dang. Rigging and animation is too deep and chaotic.
