      They sometimes have to sadly... You actually have to have the rights for these, and sometimes it's better to tape them over. But generally I agree with you

    I've got a bunch of Peak/Summit supersaw patches on my channel. Im sure theres alot of EDM or trance producers who want to know how its supersaws sound. I didnt even know this had supersaws when I bought it! It actually has upto 9 saws per voice plus 8 voice unison, so you can have upto 72 saws making some really nice supersaw sounds.

    Peak is an amazing instrument with an overwhelmingly mighty sound and sheer endless possibilities for sound-creation. It is outstandingly muscial and inspriring, nearly like an autonomous musical partner, throwing in melody lines and ideas with each step of sound creation. The workflow with this synth is a flow of ideas and inspiriation. Very enjoyable and highly pleasing. It taught me to hear in a new way. No exaggeration. The new free (as always) pimp-my-synth-firmware update nearly doubles the possibilities, it's is like getting a new, improved instrument for free. Fantastic synth, if you can get one, get it and you will never want to miss it anymore! - This impressing video made me take notice of this supernal synth for the first time. Thanks for that.

    I need to hear this thing doing warm analogue pads but can't find any demo's.... I can't stand the aggressive overdriven type sounds they opt for in these demos... This actually puts me off.

    • @davidsteine7339
      @davidsteine7339 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Idk if you still care, but I got one of these a few months ago and the pads can get reaaaaaallllly warm. it's an incredibly versatile synth, and pairs great with max4live LFOs. does need a little bit of EQ though.

    Great video... one question, can anybody tell me if this desktop synth can be use as a midi to controll DAW vst plugins? Thanks in advance.

    • @NovationTV
      @NovationTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, in theory, that's certainly possible. Some of the controls do transmit and respond to MIDI so you could use it to control plug-ins within a DAW 👍

    I have owned a number of Novation products over the years, including the Supernova 2 released around 18 years ago - which still sounds great today. I see the Peak's main competitor being the Access Virus TI2 desktop which I can not see or hear anything on the Peak that beats it. I am a big Novation/Focusrite fan, but the Peak has not impressed me or made me think WOW! For me, the price is an issue. Take off a third and that would be reasonable.

    • @el_dani
      @el_dani 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      go and try one, you wouldn't get the analog side with an Virus and the price is totally worth it, it's build very robust and begs to be played with - sound is amazing

      @@crispin. yes, it didn‘t loose any appeal since release. The price is still reasonable for the hardware quality you get. Sure there are cheaper options (used Blofeld, Ultranova). I don‘t know about the ASM or Waldorfs. If you got the budget and want a great piece of flagship get the Summit!

    as she screams at you ."you worthless piece of shit!!".
    it gets my music muse peek'd out . all the best composers swear by it
    it get's your head where it need's to be.
    plus jumping off balconies into auditoriums and cartwheeling
    on to the stage to play a blinding set with very talented musos
    can do it as well. ie jaco pastorius, 1982 .

    Yah, I think the price is a bit too high considering the cost of the deep mind desktop. My other issue I absolutely adore novation's VA's but I don't like any of their analog synths. The strength of Novation has always been how round and smooth their VA engine is and how controlled the sound is. I struggle to say anything positive about their analog synths.

    Seems to be a good unit with interesting sounds. But what is this out of date ridiculous display ? Seems to come back from an old 80's synth.
    Horrible for a stage using. And where is the noise generator ? For such a price we could expect at least a good design, analog vco's and so on.
    Many other brands are providing better quality for the same price.
