There are currently no known obvious massive performance enhancers which are not tested for.
Everybody knew EPO made you superhuman in endurance sports. Like anabolic steroids did for strength sports a few decades prior. Problem was: Testing protocols able to detect their use, either weren't available, or were readily evadeable at pro-cycling team budgets. Rider's had no choice: You couldn't serve any role un-enhanced on a TdF team, when the rest of the peloton were the equivalent of East Bloc women with full beards and hair on their chests competing in women's shot-put. So everyone got dragged into "the culture" pretty much upon recruitment, when they were the most vulnerable.
Nowadays, there are no immediate candidates in use outside of sports, which pack nearly the same punch and cannot be tested for. That doesn't mean some clever pharmacists haven't come up with something. But you'd think pretty much anything as significantly performance enhancing as roids and EPO for healthy athletes, would also have seriously positive effects for certain very ill people. Seriously as in near Nobel price in Medicine positive. Which again makes you wonder what kind of pharma genius would agree to keep such concoctions a secret, just to help some freaky fast Slovenian kid drop competitors up hills in France.

@@paulnorman8274 Any sources? Otherwise you're just speaking out of thin air. Obviously, if a type of drug is "obvious" by knowledge or effect, it is known. But there are countless PE drugs whose effect isn't immediately obvious, but are proven to be beneficial. This is of just speculation, but, based on the already known tally of drug types, it is not impossible to think that there have been new innovations in drug science, which has resulted in new drugs that are not tested for. If only select people know, how are you test for it?

Such as how Pog doesn’t crash often, and almost never seriously, while his rivals seem like they’re always crashing. Factor in that his teammates are struggling to him, I'm guessing it's going to be his hardest TdF yet; the other teams will out the heat on him for sure.

Bear in mind that Jonas is now his biggest rival in this years tour, who also dug deep in todays stage. I still hope roglic and jumbo will put up a fight. This kid pog is just unbelievable. He's amazing to watch!

You save an awful lot of effort by sitting in the bunch all day. It's not at all like riding 170km on your own.

We all know the answer to this.....his "stuff" is better than the next guys. let's not assume he is the only "special" rider here.

This is ridiculous-I predict Pogacar will have a gap of over 5 minutes on everyone by the end of the tour
