I can't speak for the person you're replying to. But I do agree with them. Making the Dinosaurs themselves scary again is like not going to happen. Why? Because you can tense scenes, you can brutal and gory scenes all you want (and please do, since that would be awsome). But a big part of what makes something scary is seeing it for the first time and not understanding it. You've see and understand the T-rex, Spinosaurus, Raptor and so on for for 6 films and 7 seasons across two shows. You could keep introducing new Dinosaurs, but then you risk these series being even more gimmicky.
I'll believe it when I see it. The Jurassic World movies taught me a valuable lesson about keeping expectations in check, they pretty much said the same thing about Fallen Kingdom and we know how that turned out.

I really loved the new season of chaos theory its way of story telling and dark tones are amazing but like all things Jurassic world it needs that R rating I NEED those kill scenes to be seen frame by frame to completion, its the spice that park had that world is missing.

I'm only worried about the budget - the film may look bad. I'm still waiting for Klayton to do a piece on it because I'm curious about his opinion.

One thing that I would love to see is the raptors learning how to mimic people. Not speaking full on sentences but certain phrases or noises. I think that this would add a new threat to the raptors that we’ve never seen and it would finally make raptors scary again.
I like the idea of them filming on location for the jungle environments. I just hope they don't ruin it with colour filters. At that point they may as well just shoot in a green room. I can't see them going full horror with this, though. Jurassic Park was more soft horror and that's all it needs to be. Scary enough to take seriously but not too scary to keep the kids away. Gotta sell them toys!
I have faith in Gareth Edwards. His way of directing Rogue One, the creator and of course Godzilla nails the tone of being gritty and realistic, not sure of being a horror movie though.
I wish someone would make the gamble and do a big budget dinosaur gore fest. We all grew up with stop motion monster films and the thing we watched them for was to see dinosaurs eating people. Remember, this is the man that directed Rouge one. This movie has the potential to be one of the best films of all time. While I have to admit that the synopsis and names of of the characters do feel abit off, the last director to screw this up outside of Speilburg himself is 100% Gareth Edwards. The Horror/action avenue is what most fans want. It does seem like a valid effort in going back to the origins of putting the terror and high stakes back into the dinosaur franchise. That can only be a good thing.

Wow, to see a movie that is said to be like the OG - I'm so hyped it's not even funny. I wonder what all creatures they are gonna highlight. Old and new - well, we are definitely gonna get the raptors we always see, and probably Rexy (who just wants to retire at this point, I bet. Poor gal). I'm hoping for Spino, too, like a lot of others. I am wondering if they are gonna take some of the critters they have been highlighting in other Jurassic media - like the games. I know mobile games are not looked kindly upon, especially money pits like JW: Alive, but there are some really cool designs on there. Yutyrannus looks absolutely gorgeous in that game. Maybe we will see some more herbivores being bad-arse. Dominion wasn't too hot for -most- people, but the Therizinosaurus in there was really dang cool in my opinion. Shooting this new movie on 35mm film? OK, this is interesting. Biggest animals on land, sea, air? And old and new? Old and new as in the franchise or old and new as in species in the real world? Like the Blue whale? That'd be interesting to see a modern whale fight one of the monstrous Mosasaurs... or a few of them. That'd be dark and showcase how a modern ecological system could really be damaged by these animals. It really seems like there is a lot of care and love put into this and I'm so excited. The wait is going to be painful, but it's going to be worth it!
Don't be fooled. This will be an ACTION ONLY movie. The closest Jurassic Park was from being horror in a movie was on JP and TLW (and I'd say TLW is more like horror).
The idea of an action horror Jurassic film is music to my ears as someone who loves it when the franchise delves into horror territory. And Gareth's comments give me even more hope this will be great.
When I heard they were making a new Jurassic World movie I was not really interested, I Love the original Jurassic Park and TLW:JP, the first Jurassic World was a good and enjoyable film buuuuuut the last two films fell really short, but now that I know that they are making it as a horror action film may peak my interests once again, I read the books only once many years ago but I remember how very dark they were and how horrific it was in certain scenes with the carnivorous Dino’s! Sooooo I hope that type of horror ends up in the new movie, hopefully (very wishful thinking)
I've got my fingers crossed for this film as it has so many things going for it with the synopsis, the cast and crew and tone. I'm really hoping we get that classic JP1 vibe where you're excited, intrigued and terrified throughout. I've been a big fan of Edwards sincw Monsters and I've liked everything he's made so far, especially Godzilla and Rogue One for the spectacle and atmosphere.

Reminds me of the concept of the Guardians of Land, Sea, and Air from JP3 Dinosaur Battles/Scan Command… curious parallels, especially after the idea of dinosaurs mind control from that same game was mirrored in Camp Cretaceous and human cloning was featured in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
The most important thing is to bring back the suspenseful terror of the dinosaurs back to how they were portrayed in the original films is what I'm hoping for also the 2011 teletale jurassic park the game had that tone too
They said the same thing when Fallen Kimgdom was in production. I think the "Indoraptor/Mansion" act was supposed to be the "horror" part. I REALLY hope that Universal are smart enough to learn from their mistakes and make this movie awesome, subtley ret-conning JW 1, 2 and 3 in a way and going back to awesome dino action.

Incorrect. Gareth Edwards joined the production 2 weeks before filming after the studio's first choice for director (David Leitch) dropped out, saying the job was "too restrictive". By the time Gareth was hired, everything from the script, to the cast, to the filming locations were already locked in. Many other actresses were also considered for the role of Zora, they were not specifically looking at ScarJo.
If Dino Hunter Deadly Shores would've had dinosaurs with Trophy Hunt colors on their skin created from Biosyn, then Jurassic World Rebirth would've been scary.
I just want to see an intimidating Dromaeosaur species again. You could say that the Atrociraptors in Dominion were, but personally I felt no sort of stakes or intimidation by them. The closest we've gotten since JP3 was when the raptor squad turned against the humans in JW. A pack of Utahraptors would be terrifying to see for this new one imo.
Horror is exactly what the series needs. I haven't had the urge to see a Jurassic film since 2015, and that movie disappointed me enough that I did not see Fallen Kingdom or Dominion. I would like to see the trailer the very day it's released. If it lives up to the claim that it will be a horror flick, and gets you excited to go on an adventure, then I will go to the theater. My only disappointment so far is the use of an A-list actress.
I guarantee it will be the same tone and seriousness (if not more so) than Godzilla 2014. If you compare that Godzilla movie to the others from legendary, it is very paralleled with how this Jurassic movie will pan out compared to the other Jurassic world movies. The difference being legendaries godzilla movies went from more grounded and dark to a more light hearted tone as of the most recent film, and the Jurassic world movies are going from more light hearted to a more dark and serious tone. As soon as I heard Gareth was directing, I knew it would be just like we are hearing.
Gareth didnt have script input, he joined less than 2 weeks before filming after the first director (David Leitch) dropped out, saying the job was too resteictive. I don't think Edwards has much sway on this project.

It really seems like there is a lot of care and love put into this and I'm so excited. The wait is going to be painful, but it's going to be worth it!

Don't be fooled. This will be an ACTION ONLY movie. The closest Jurassic Park was from being horror in a movie was on JP and TLW (and I'd say TLW is more like horror).

Considering the JP trilogy was mainly action horror , I say the movie s gonna be entertaining.

The idea of an action horror Jurassic film is music to my ears as someone who loves it when the franchise delves into horror territory. And Gareth's comments give me even more hope this will be great.

When I heard they were making a new Jurassic World movie I was not really interested, I Love the original Jurassic Park and TLW:JP, the first Jurassic World was a good and enjoyable film buuuuuut the last two films fell really short, but now that I know that they are making it as a horror action film may peak my interests once again, I read the books only once many years ago but I remember how very dark they were and how horrific it was in certain scenes with the carnivorous Dino’s! Sooooo I hope that type of horror ends up in the new movie, hopefully (very wishful thinking)

This franchise is worth a billion dollars per film with that PG-13 rating. I doubt they would amputate their profits by rating this one R.
I've got my fingers crossed for this film as it has so many things going for it with the synopsis, the cast and crew and tone. I'm really hoping we get that classic JP1 vibe where you're excited, intrigued and terrified throughout.
I've been a big fan of Edwards sincw Monsters and I've liked everything he's made so far, especially Godzilla and Rogue One for the spectacle and atmosphere.
Make the dinosaurs look like actual dinosaurs would be a great start!

I mean hearing that Gareth Edwards is directing, David Koepp wrote the screenplay, it has a really solid cast, the setting and premise is very promising, and the element of the film being an "action-horror" style movie should at least spark some confidence, right??
For me Isla Sorna had a creepier and mysterious vibe to it than Nublar. I hope they revisit it here.
Fascinated by the reference to a target dinosaur of land, sea, and air. Reminds me of the concept of the Guardians of Land, Sea, and Air from JP3 Dinosaur Battles/Scan Command… curious parallels, especially after the idea of dinosaurs mind control from that same game was mirrored in Camp Cretaceous and human cloning was featured in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
The most important thing is to bring back the suspenseful terror of the dinosaurs back to how they were portrayed in the original films is what I'm hoping for also the 2011 teletale jurassic park the game had that tone too

They said the same thing when Fallen Kimgdom was in production. I think the "Indoraptor/Mansion" act was supposed to be the "horror" part.
I REALLY hope that Universal are smart enough to learn from their mistakes and make this movie awesome, subtley ret-conning JW 1, 2 and 3 in a way and going back to awesome dino action.

I do still believe the biggest creatures are going to be those people said. There are no bigger ones. Still, that doesn´t take away of him saying that there would be new creatures. Of course. As always. One thing has nothing to do with the other.

Incorrect. Gareth Edwards joined the production 2 weeks before filming after the studio's first choice for director (David Leitch) dropped out, saying the job was "too restrictive". By the time Gareth was hired, everything from the script, to the cast, to the filming locations were already locked in. Many other actresses were also considered for the role of Zora, they were not specifically looking at ScarJo.
If Dino Hunter Deadly Shores would've had dinosaurs with Trophy Hunt colors on their skin created from Biosyn, then Jurassic World Rebirth would've been scary.

Filmmakers are dreadfully out of touch with the real world.
I just want to see an intimidating Dromaeosaur species again. You could say that the Atrociraptors in Dominion were, but personally I felt no sort of stakes or intimidation by them. The closest we've gotten since JP3 was when the raptor squad turned against the humans in JW. A pack of Utahraptors would be terrifying to see for this new one imo.

Horror is exactly what the series needs. I haven't had the urge to see a Jurassic film since 2015, and that movie disappointed me enough that I did not see Fallen Kingdom or Dominion. I would like to see the trailer the very day it's released. If it lives up to the claim that it will be a horror flick, and gets you excited to go on an adventure, then I will go to the theater. My only disappointment so far is the use of an A-list actress.
I guarantee it will be the same tone and seriousness (if not more so) than Godzilla 2014. If you compare that Godzilla movie to the others from legendary, it is very paralleled with how this Jurassic movie will pan out compared to the other Jurassic world movies. The difference being legendaries godzilla movies went from more grounded and dark to a more light hearted tone as of the most recent film, and the Jurassic world movies are going from more light hearted to a more dark and serious tone. As soon as I heard Gareth was directing, I knew it would be just like we are hearing.

Thank goodness. I have kids and they love the Jurassic World movies but man I need horror again, no more Disney friendly dinos. I swear if I see another person stop a carnivore just by raising his hand at it I’ll lose it.
Hnnnn. I’m a bit hesitant to take this too far into getting my hopes up- because they said the same about fallen kingdom which had potential- but they didn’t bank on it.
