    100% respect, brother. Tough to admit any error. Much less publicly. Takes a huge man to do so, by his own choice. You are a legend.

      Trial and error. Hopefully will stop anyone else making the same mistake 👍

    Absolutely loved the complete string of clips. Right up my alley, you could say. I've been in the thought process (is it possible to put it that way..?) of building my own bass and these clips guide me through the entire process. Never thought of having tuning screws at the "other end" though. But why not? But I think I'll keep the head stock anyway for aesthetic purposes.
    And I love the tone throughout your videos.
    Cheers

    Had a similar dilemma when building my 5 string. Wasn't happy with the headstock, functional but a bit ugly. Nearly turned it into a headless but decided to stick with original design. Works superbly so thanks for all your tutorials/advice. Cheers, Hywel.

    I have the same tuners on my 7 string multisclae guitar in which i believe those are actually designed not on a bass. Had the same intonation sliding issue and there's also some movement on the tuning screws which affects the tuning of those things pretty much.

    I haz the sads. You can get individual string locking nuts or fairly easily fabricate them, it would have looked so much better; they could have gone directly over the old holes.

      This was really down to the customer. They wanted this system as a guaranteed fix. For sure it’s a shame but very limited options. 👍

      @@KingBespokeCreations Ah well. Still a nice build overall :) I am very glad to have watched it as you've saved me making a mistake buying the first kind of tuners.

    Good recovery. I think both Scott (Bonehead) and me have fallen foul of those terrible tuners. The replacement look well beefier though! When I approach something similar again I'm going to use the bridges from Nova Guitar Parts in Brazil. Probably about £160 for a 5 string bass, so would be factored in price, but worth the piece of mind.

    If I had a custom bass made I would ensure it had quality hardware from either Shaller, Gotoh or Hipshot. Sure my Ibanez EHB hade a great propiertary bridge, but it wasn't custom made. I really like your bass videos.

    • @KingBespokeCreations
      @KingBespokeCreations  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not every custom has to be at huge cost. We tried the cheaper option because it actually fit better with the original design. But everything is fixable/changeable 👍

      Given the money, sure. But how about those who don't?

    good job brother, i used your video of this bass to make my own, and the very bridge you just installed was the one i actually used. the allen key is for the intonation saddle :)

    • @KingBespokeCreations
      @KingBespokeCreations  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s great to hear. I also used the Allen key in the end slot for tuning it 👍

    Guyker sell all sorts of weird and wonderful things. I’ve got one of their 8 string bass bridges that I’m saving for a 5 to 8 string conversion project

    Do you know about the company ABM guitar Parts? They make tail ends that look very much like yours but they are produced in Germany and promise to be of very good quality.

      @@KingBespokeCreations I just saw that there is a manual for their headless hardware online. abm-guitarpartsshop.com/media/content/PDF/Manuals/Guide_3801_3901_7010_7011.pdf

    Guyker parts are high quality and very affordable. Their locking tuners are very popular.
    There's speculation that they are made by the same OEM factory in Korea that used to make Gotoh parts.

    What am I missing here ? the finish on that bass looks beat ?

    • @KingBespokeCreations
      @KingBespokeCreations  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s a fire finish! Blackened by flame, then covered in danish oil. Not the hardest finish but gave the look we wanted, including the wear and tare. 👍

    Do you happen to have the dimensions of the tail pieces? I’ve been looking at them for a build I wanna do but I can’t find the length

    • @KingBespokeCreations
      @KingBespokeCreations  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately it’s already back in the hands of a happy owner. I suspect the dimensions will be on the purchase page somewhere. I tend to work on having the piece in my hand and working with that rather than numbers 👍
