Lyrics: I finally get what you've been saying Now that we're knee deep side by side The storm clouds are circling above us As we struggle against the tide I feel your grip firm on my shoulder But this fear in my head won't subside They patiently circle around us As we hold out Oh father, why have they forsaken me? You warned me that they would Because it's passing down the bloodline It's spoken and misunderstood We're losing light And strength of will The darkened depths beckoning still Then we hold on against the tide "Another storm you're left to fight alone Remember son, you're reaping what you've sown Under the waves and sinking like a stone I'm sorry son, you're reaping what you've sown" "Another storm you're left to fight alone Remember son, you're reaping what you've sown Under the waves and sinking like a stone I'm sorry son, you're reaping what you've sown" You're reaping what you've sown We're slowly losing ground And hope is harder to maintain We know the prayers we prayed Feel lost like tears in the rain The water is pulling down The Moon's eclipsing the sun The ending that we knew would come Has finally begun It's finally begun You're reaping what you've sown You're reaping what you've sown This sorrow weighs down on my shoulders This fear is getting harder to hide You'll leave me alone in this darkness Left to hold out Against the tide
+YOU'RE UNDER ARREST Hey I hate to be that guy, but you got several of the lyrics wrong. Here are some of the major ones: "BENEATH the storm AND left to fight alone" "WITH CURSES passing down the bloodline, UNSPOKEN and misunderstood." "WHEN ALL the prayers we've prayed" "THE MOON's eclipsing the sun." Those are the lyrics from the disc insert of the Wish Upon A Blackstar album.
What I adore about this song is the way the instrumentation plays into the idea of an approaching storm: Piano in the beginning like gentle raindrops in the beginning. The drums picking up as the storm intensifies. The crashing symbols and "wooshing" vocals like heavy rain, wind, and waves crashing against the rocks. And then, we return as the storm passes, to gentle rain once more. Masterclass instrumental writing.
Bulgarian Memes I wasn’t bragging, and if it came off like that I’m sorry, I guess. When I said “way ahead of you,” it was meant as “I know what you mean, man” and when I said “I listened to it when it came out” that’s just a fact, not bragging.
@@RAZOR_regrets always easy to correct shit after its done... just stand your ground and take the blame. "You're reaping what you've sown" you have not unerstand this line even though you are talking about the meaningfullness of this song. lol
With or without the lyrics, this is by far one of the best pieces of music I've heard. There's so little music with this depth of emotion, with the ability to pick you up and transform what you're feeling into something that resonates through to the core. I originally found this looking for epic music (Audiomachine, TSFH, etc). In its own way, this fits the genre better than nearly everything else I've heard in it. Nothing can match it. I really wish he had more songs like this, but honestly, I think it's impossible to top.
+Ulti Already have, nothing tops this for me. Not just talking intensity, but how well layered and woven this piece is. How it progresses, its peaks and drops melding without dissonance. There is nothing in it that doesn't fit, and in my eyes, nothing that could be done to improve it. How often do we find a piece of music that is literally perfect in what it conveys?
+Wolfguarde I think lyrically, tonally, and instrumentally it is the best piece of music *ever* created. I have found no other piece of music that comes close to the depth and complexity of this song. Lyrically diverse and nothing in the song overstays it's welcome and is devoid of repetition. The instruments and vocals ebb and flow like a beautiful carefully woven tapestry full of raw emotion and power. Expertly crafted. When you add that the song in it's entirety is completely done by *one* person it becomes even more impressive. Written, produced, mixed, sung, and played by Klayton himself. Incredible. I don't find every song he has ever released up to the standard of this song, but I honesty consider Celldweller/Klayton to be the most talented artist in the entirety of the music industry. He is in a league of his own. The fact that he is relatively unknown is beyond criminal. Most of his music is better than any song that plays on radio stations or racks up the most views on TH-cam.
Ever since I've listened to this song 2 years ago. That moment I knew the way I feel about music changed forever, whenever I listen to any other song from any other type of genre just doesn't give me remotely the same feeling I get when I hear this. It's indescribable, it is perfection in my eyes. This should be what every other artist in the world tries to match in terms of production, emotion and the feeling you get from it. It's just a shame many people in this world don't give stuff like this a go nor do they care about anything that doesn't suit themselves. This is my favorite Celldweller song of all time (at this current point in time with Just Like You/Lost In Time right behind.) At the same time, favorite song of all time, I've listened to many many different artists and this hands down is unparalleled in comparison to those I've heard. Never change Klayton, the world might not care about you but who cares about them.
I always have a music video in my head when I hear this. The emotional buildup is out of this world. Overcoming odds, becoming something stronger in the face of something never expected... Stories in song. Love it.
This song has the ability to shake me to the very core. It passes feelings to me without loss. Epic masterwork. This can not be topped, but it's just one color of the palette. I hope you, Celldweller will show me some more fascinating pieces of color which I can fit into my palette. Thank you for this gift. Honestly.
The most emotional piece of celldweller's music by far, the first time I heard this, it actually made me cry, breathtaking, Klayton, just breathtaking.
No matter how many times I hear this song I always get chills. I will always support Klayton for some of the best music I've ever had the honor of listening to.
This song is so gorgeous, gets me every time, even after 8 years. I can't tell you how much this song meant to me when my wife and I were going through -- due to outside forces -- the roughest struggle of our marriage, circa 2013. Thank you for that.
Even if you don't like Klayton's style of music, no one can deny that his lyrics are nothing short of awe inspiring. Great song lyrics like this is in such short supply these days, keep them coming and I'll keep listening. Celldweller FTW!
This song has gotten me through so much. I've listened to it during the darkest of darks and it always feels like I'm listening to it for the first time. Thank you klayton even so many years later. You truly are an amazing artist. ❤
kalyton, you are truly one of the only musicians left in this era who can be considered an artist. the fact that you can write songs like "switchback" and also songs like this is a testament to your creativity. this song is so touching especially for anyone like me who has made mistakes and has had to endure the fallout alone. thank you for all your work, good and bad, you deserve way more recognition than you get.
One of the few songs that Klayton has written that has brought me to tears. Because it hits soo close to home. Its almost shame. I have lived a life that I am soo ashamed of it. If God didn't know anything of it. I'd die with a burden unknown.
2017, never heard about celldweller before, just found it alone. I can't understand why is this artist so underrated, this is the best music i ever heard and for much more difference, only 148k subs to this channel? this is the kind of things that makes me lose hope in humanity. This song is amazing, i feel bad for discovering this so late, this song resounded in my soul. Also, i am from Argentina and i don't know how to speak english very well so forgive if i have any mistakes, keep the good work, Saludos!

There is power in music. It's different for everyone. Sometimes a song's potency will last for a day, or a week, or a month. Less common are the songs that last for years, and they often take on personal meaning for the listener. But there are songs that will last a lifetime, that resonate with the core of the individual hearing them. For me, this is one such. They are rare, and they are precious.
same, only two other songs have done this to me in the last 10-15 years Runchy - A Heavy Burden Casey Edwards - Bury the Light I know this comment is 8 years old, but if you read this, try giving them a listen :D
Seriously underrated band. It's actually criminal. Haha I literally go out of my way to have as many people hear these songs as possible. They are truly amazing.
A modern-day masterpiece that honestly does not get nearly the attention it deserves. WUaB is a good album, but this song is on it's own level and provides the perfect emotional end. Klayton you've put out some good stuff before and after this, but I personally would be quite surprised if you manage to outdo this one.
+Matt Ashworth the only guy that is on par with Klayton(Celldweller is still always going to be my favourite music artist nothing can and nothing will beat him) is Thomas Bergerson he's like a fusion of Motsart, Packapbel and Bheetoven and timesed it by Ten Thousand Quateruodicillion. but Scott Albert will always be the number one and i don't care if he has very little circurlation with his music because i like it this way he is the GOD of Music from another dimention that talks with Music enhanced by the Godly powers of Klayton. Klayton is so awesome and he has few bad songs but his albums are just so good.
Matt Ashworth well you may be in luck, Klayton of Celldweller is working on a new album dedicating to music he has made such as, Just like you, So long sentiment, Against the tide, and the album is called Offworld!
So powerful, so beautiful, so strong! Great great great! This masterpiece deserve more views, more likes and more attention. It breaks my heart everytime I hear this song. It makes me feel alive. THANK YOU, Klayton, for all music that you made. With love from Russian fan
I couldn't agree more. Klayton is the best. I very seldom find a band that I can listen to all their music and enjoy it. I tend to pick and choose but with Celldweller I love it all. Thank you.
This is my probably my all-time favorite song! When I found it a few years ago, I bought it and listened to it on repeat for 3 weeks straight. I'm still not tired of it (and never will be!). I love this song so much, it makes its way into almost every playlist I put together and it's a song that I would never ever skip. It just is one of the greatest pieces of music there is out there. Good job, Klayton!
This song...When I have firstly heard it, I was weaping fof a half an hour...I broke up with girlfriend...And...I wasn't able to keep my tears...Celldweller...Thank you...Really thank you...
It's 2017 and I'm still in love with this song. I really don't understand why but it just seems that this song is more emotional, a lot warmer and at the same time colder than all these days singles. It has so many emotions hidden in the instrumental part and so much more meaning in the lyrics part. I simply couldn't possibly tell everything what I feel while listening to this song. It is by far the best song to me.
I just close my eyes while listening to this masterpiece and travel to a whole new world of "superbness" with multiple eargasms. Seriously, this is by far my favourite music of all time.
Found this song and listened a lot to it when my ex girlfriend and I broke up and I had to move across the country. Back then I hoped we would be together for longer, much longer. The lyrics really painted a perfectly matching picture in my mind.
Celldweller is ONE guy. Not a band. ONE guy who does everything himself. In the past he was in a band, and had one only for the early Celldweller live shows. That's it.
Jesus... Klayton, your vocals, just wow, my favorite of any artist, and the atmosphere in this track is just incredible as with all of your tracks, this is so emotional and seems to perfectly represent my dark moods, and yet it has a feel of hope in it.. brilliant, keep producing stuff like this, you deserve every compliment given in this comment section, and every bit of money you earn, I'll be sure be buying this song, and sharing on fb
The closest thing to perfection ever created. The message in this song is so powerful it shakes my soul to its core everytime to the point of tears, nothing can even come close to evoking these feelings.
WOW, i thought i was the only one to do so, i try to describe such imaginations to my friends and such and they always ask "how do you come up with those?, why dont you write it down so you can use it later?", so now i have a goal, i shall make my own game in wich most of the events were created while i was listening to song such as this one... i'm so glad my friends told me about Celldweller.. i was able to imagine an entire saga out of the Wish Upon a Blackstar Deluxe album
Klayton's work always amazed me, he can compile songs from the heaviest metal next to most modern electro even to calm and meaningful ones. All hail the almighty artist!
This song is absolutely perfect... I can't think of a better way to conclude an album of this size and scale. It's hard for me to pick my favorite songs off this album, because I love them all, but this is definitely in the the top 3, if not maybe number 1! :D
This song always associated with video from dotacinema video DotA 2 top plays weekly hall of fame. 10 years ago I watch it for the first time and still this track is top. with or without lyrics
Your comment has been one of the top comments for a nice amount of time. I congratulate you. Well you are right. This song wakes up a bunch of nice feelings and some sad ones.
One of his best songs. I like everything about it. An awesome instrumental song, combined with meaningful, RHYMING lyrics. I wish he would do more like this...
I used to listen to this song all the time on the bus to school. I just came across it on pandora today and got destroyed with nostalgia feels. The song's even better than I remember
Lyrics:
I finally get what you've been saying
Now that we're knee deep side by side
The storm clouds are circling above us
As we struggle against the tide
I feel your grip firm on my shoulder
But this fear in my head won't subside
They patiently circle around us
As we hold out
Oh father, why have they forsaken me?
You warned me that they would
Because it's passing down the bloodline
It's spoken and misunderstood
We're losing light
And strength of will
The darkened depths beckoning still
Then we hold on against the tide
"Another storm you're left to fight alone
Remember son, you're reaping what you've sown
Under the waves and sinking like a stone
I'm sorry son, you're reaping what you've sown"
"Another storm you're left to fight alone
Remember son, you're reaping what you've sown
Under the waves and sinking like a stone
I'm sorry son, you're reaping what you've sown"
You're reaping what you've sown
We're slowly losing ground
And hope is harder to maintain
We know the prayers we prayed
Feel lost like tears in the rain
The water is pulling down
The Moon's eclipsing the sun
The ending that we knew would come
Has finally begun
It's finally begun
You're reaping what you've sown
You're reaping what you've sown
This sorrow weighs down on my shoulders
This fear is getting harder to hide
You'll leave me alone in this darkness
Left to hold out
Against the tide

Celldweller is ONE guy. Not a band. ONE guy who does everything himself. In the past he was in a band, and had one only for the early Celldweller live shows. That's it.
My all time favorite.
This is by far... the best thing ever made.
This is... by far... one of the best songs ever made by Klayton.
One of my favorites from Klayton
A timeless classic!
The closest thing to perfection ever created.
The message in this song is so powerful it shakes my soul to its core everytime to the point of tears, nothing can even come close to evoking these feelings.
This kind of songs are the reason why I love music.
Klayton always with me in the best and worst moments. Thank you so much for sharing your music 🥺
Just as I think it's about to get repetitive it changes, great
My GOD by far one of the best songs in the album! ...Epic..
singer have a fenomenal voice ! song very great
+Xinergon Norlatiadec Klayton has sang all these songs D:
WOW, i thought i was the only one to do so, i try to describe such imaginations to my friends and such and they always ask "how do you come up with those?, why dont you write it down so you can use it later?", so now i have a goal, i shall make my own game in wich most of the events were created while i was listening to song such as this one... i'm so glad my friends told me about Celldweller.. i was able to imagine an entire saga out of the Wish Upon a Blackstar Deluxe album
Questa canzone è una forza immensa! mi sento liberata da quella rabbia che ho represso per tante volte nella mia complicata vita. Grandiosa!
This is beautiful
Klayton's work always amazed me, he can compile songs from the heaviest metal next to most modern electro even to calm and meaningful ones.
All hail the almighty artist!
I love this song so much
I cannot describe how unique and interesting Klayton's songs sound like. I think this is true defenition of art
"The storm clouds are circling above us... As we struggle.. Against the tide.."
Very stimulating in my mind of a heroic front, against titans.
This song is absolutely perfect... I can't think of a better way to conclude an album of this size and scale. It's hard for me to pick my favorite songs off this album, because I love them all, but this is definitely in the the top 3, if not maybe number 1! :D
Such a sick tune. One of the best artists ever.
from the energy in this song i get everytime goosebumbs
This may just be the best thing i've ever listened to.
Just like tears lost in the rain this song make strong emotions within
YEEES ! Dota Cinema rules for everything ! Especially for that amazing song !
My favorite song of all ....
It's been over 10 years since I first listened to this masterpiece
The first time I came across Celldweller was while playing Flash Flash Revolution (keyboard version of DDR) in 2003. It had "Stay With Me (Unlikely)".
Me too!!
FFR "Stay with Me (unlikely)" was how I found Celldweller.... and i was hooked!!
Amazing song on an entirely amazing album.
You'll never be alone in the darkness Klayton, your faithful fans will pull you out....
It's like you can feel the passion he put into this song, amazing.
The feeling in this song is unmatched..
This song, yes, this song always brings me to tears
Out of the entire Wish upon a Blackstar album this is my number 1!!
Everything else Is so badass I imagined an entire saga within my mind!
The whole song is good and enjoyable, but the "Oh father, why have they forsaken me?" is one of the best lines I've ever heard.
I used to listen to this song all the time on the bus to school. I just came across it on pandora today and got destroyed with nostalgia feels. The song's even better than I remember
I love this song i play it over and over.
