Lyrics (Fight!) (Fight!) Get back up, what are you waiting for this time? I'm over playing with this plight But I'm still handcuffed, ball-gagged, face-down to the floor And I'm waiting while I'm hating what I'm waiting for It's time to take ahold of what belongs to me It's time to walk away with no apologies These voices in the mirror start quietly And now they're screaming back at me (Don't back down) Holding on until my hands and mind are bleeding (Don't back down) This is my birthright (Don't back down) I'm so sick of feeling like I'm helpless (Don't back down) This is over tonight Don't back up, your ass is to the wall again and Aren't you sick of wasting so much time? And yes it's true you're a fool if you think you were born To be waiting while you're hating what you're waiting for It's time to take ahold of what belongs to me It's time to walk away with no apologies These voices in the mirror start quietly And now they're screaming back at me (Don't back down) Holding on until my hands and mind are bleeding (Don't back down) This is my birthright (Don't back down) I'm so sick of feeling like I'm hopeless (Don't back down) This is over tonight How could have I been so earthbound With my heart in the depths and my face in the ground? It's time to uproot myself and move on How could have I been making sound When my mouth and my lungs had both fused to the ground? I'm going to repeat it once again: Klayton's vocals are so pleasant to listen to. His voice is a treasure value of which he may not even be fully aware of.
The really sad part is, he said in a Q&A video, an episode of Ask Klayton (formerly named Ask CellDweller), that he really doesn't like hearing and listening to his own singing voice. It's really unfortunate to hear, and I feel very sad and sorry for him because of this fact, which is not all that uncommon for many musicians or music artists who sing.
@@cyberspacesupersoldier i think it's like shallow hale or whatever the movie is called with jack black in it. He sees a beautiful slim woman and in reality she's rather large and such. Some people have a dysphoric perspective on themselves in different ways. Of course these subjects are more subjective in a sense. Like beauty and the sounds someone finds pleasant. In my opinion klayton has a great voice in most songs. I'll admit there's a few times in songs, where the pitch of his voice sounds like he's trying to hard to express emotions and it comes off cringe in my opinion. No one is perfect though. He creates amazing music and has a good singing voice and I love listening to him.
Just my opinion/preference, but i don't like how his voice sounds in this track It sounds a little too generic/pop-y for my liking I liked the more whisper-like sound he had in the self-titled album The instrumentals are still killer, though!
I listened to the Blackstar CD so much that I actually WORE IT OUT. No kidding. Had it in my car from 2012-2016 and the paint on the back wore off in spots, so now it clicks like an old vinyl album. :D

Well said. I really appreciate that Klayton makes this music for himself. It's almost as if it's all the lessons he's learnt in his life, put in music. Almost as if Klayton is directly speaking to his audience through song.
I could be wrong but I think the (Beta 1.0) version from "Soundtrack for the Voices in my Head Vol. 1" is what was used for Speed Racer. It's the same song but very different at the same time.

That's because it was written shortly after Celldweller debut album. You can still feel that 'first' Klayton vibes, when he had no money, almost no food, couple of guitars, old sampler and Nord 2 rack.
This song has pulled me out of my worst of times *twice now.* Grateful that it exists.
That's unbelievably relatable

H.O. U I don't wanna get into it. Too emotional. Not going to dwell on it looking for pitty either...
Alright, thanks for explaining
I but discovered klayton's music and I got to say: yes. His work is simply inspiring. And not just that; it comes with free energy packets.
JannetFenix hmmm, I don't get that reference

I Wished upon a Blackstar for this song to make it huge.
I feel sorry for Klayton, such work. such mastery.
Don't feel sorry for him. The good stuff is never meant for the masses.

My friend just showed me this song and I must say this is awesome.
Love the bass guitar on this!

FINALLY! I found it. That darn speed racer trailer
I could be wrong but I think the (Beta 1.0) version from "Soundtrack for the Voices in my Head Vol. 1" is what was used for Speed Racer. It's the same song but very different at the same time.
Thank you.
In brightest days, in darkest nights!
This song is brilliant
i ❤ celldweller
Espectacular.
the real celldweller soul is what i want back! i think this is it!
This was used in the trailer for speed racer
My favorite Celldweller song. Also reminds me of Criss Angel, because he uses it in his live show.
Klayton and criss have similar look too
Klayton and Chris have worked together too and they are friends
Man, I really wish that he would go the way he wants to, regardless of what his fans think. I hope that he keeps evolving.
his ability to read big black letters is astounding
AWESOME
Industrial Drum N Bass Rock is possibly the best way to describe the genre.
COOL!

What is this godlike music? What was I doing my entire life?

perfect birthright!
HELL YEAH!
Now this is the awesome old stuff he did.
I like this final version...a little cleaner, a little more edge. Although, I do love the rough cuts that had that pure rock edge
Would've loved it at the end of he repeated, " Over tonight! This is over tonight!" 4 times instead of twice. But I love this song.
Epic Song ... Makes you wanna fight everything !
I love it, great song :D
