I always viewed them as an Australian Tool. You definitely need more. But i just absolutely love this album and song. Try Themata or Lifelike. As those ones are a bit heavier. I just love the atmosphere of this song.
Awesome reaction Z, you're right in saying this is reminiscent of some of those "emo" bands in atmosphere and tone but just a bit more complex and structured/thought out so it comes across a bit more maturely and less corny/angsty I'd say. (no discredit to The Used, those guys had some cool tracks back in the day haha) I would suggest more Tesseract or Skyharbor if you want some more "pretty/beautiful" metal/rock vibes. My picks would be "Retrospect" or "Eclipse" for Tesseract & "Miracle" or "Evolution" for Skyharbor. Awesome stuff as usual :D

The evolution from this karnivool album is massive this one's straight up nu metal but it's bloody good album the second album which is their best in my opinion is more prog rock and a lot more mature than themata. Listen to some sound awake
James Dean in a room, with nothing else, from start to finish, on good speakers. Sound Awake is as good an album as I have ever heard in my life. Masterpiece.
