I think these guys are the best metal band today, definately very Opeth like, but also with their own flavour (less sorrow, more glorious, tend to change quicker). They do symphonic metal the right way. Personally I consider their last album their best, although maybe less accesible than this, which is generally loved by everyone. Passenger, Woogatherer, Identifier... So many great songs
Agreed on everything. Wilderun became my favorite band when I caught myself listening to Epigone over and over again and getting to love it even more each time. They do everything (prog, symphonic, folk) the right way, it's incredible.
Oh my God. Z, I only just saw that you returned! 😭 I know your first video back was about two months ago but I only just saw this (like others, I did think something fatal had happened to you, so I apologize for that) much love, Deets ❤️
I remember you reacted to a good amount of Opeth in the past so I have a recommendation for an Opeth adjacent band that’s really good. Multiple Opeth records were produced and mixed by a guy named Steven Wilson (You’ve reacted to his solo song Routine). Steven Wilson has a band he pioneers named Porcupine Tree, and the Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson rabbit hole is expansive and wonderful. Some live performances I recommend are Anesthetize, Sleep Together, Normal, Cheating the Polygraph. Some studio recordings I recommend are Arriving Somewhere but not Here, Trains, The Start of Something beautiful, Time Flies. Early Porcupine Tree inspired Opeth, and then later Porcupine Tree was inspired by Opeth and picked up a heavier sound around the same time Steven helped produce some Opeth albums.
Thank you so much for all your awesome reactions! I would love to see you react to this magical song! I think you might like it! ''Jiluka - Ajna (Official Music Video)'' Would be so much fun to hear your thoughts! Thanks!
You think I'd let you come back with a trash request from me? Lol I still know what I'm doing. 😂 Found these guys off a random TH-cam recommendation before they become "slightly more" known from this album drop. I would think it's fair to say that the Opeth/Mikael (you were right :P ) comparison is a huge compliment to them. Opeth were huge pioneers of acoustic transitions and melodic passages in death metal. Opeth for sure is a major inspiration to bands like Wilderun and Ne Obliviscaris. Wilderun is not always this heavy, and they get a tad folkier than Opeth, but they've definitely crafted their own unique sound.
@darkamyntas3820 Sorry, might've had you mistaken with someone named Alex that introduced me to them, but you talk similarly to him! Either way, always pouncing on when people get to discover this band!
Welcome back, here comes the complaints!! aka Positive Feedback.......are you ready?! Your mic is a bit too low compared to the music (i'm not sure if i'm hearing your fan or mine lol). Your backlit room looks like you're halfway to heaven 🤪🤪🤪, It's not a real issue Incited isn't a word? lol
@@DropZSpillingtheTea Are you coming back or are you just doing shorts? TH-cam is very strict on copyright now. Did you ever do Electric Callboy (formerly Eskimo Callboy)?

Wow, i missed your Devin Townsend reactions. Hope you are well.
Oh I'm glad to see them here :) some bands overdo progressive parts in long songs. But I think that Wilderun keep it just at the right spot.
Oh she's back
And gone again

Had to leave it up to you to request this, so I could watch someone get introduced to it the same way you did to me! Not surprised
