Chinese is one of the six official languages of the United Nations and the most widely spoken language in the world. China's territory is the third largest in the world. Because the territory is so large, very few Chinese go abroad and live here all their lives. Only young people know some English. The only place in Asia where English is most popular is Singapore. If there are language barriers when traveling in China, you can use mobile phone translation to solve the problem. When traveling in China, you have to accept the culture shock and the crowds, and be more tolerant.

At present, there is a display on the radio of Beijing taxi, which contains the driver's photo and various information. Next time, if you encounter this kind of situation, you can take a picture to complain, or directly shoot the license plate number to complain. Beijing still has strict and standardized requirements on taxi drivers, and the drivers are hired by local people through criminal audit to prevent any accidents from happening. But there will inevitably be rude people or a bad day, I hope you can understand. But in China now the best use is Didi, especially in first-tier cities such as Beijing and Shanghai. In addition, you are not taking the latest high-speed train, maybe in some specific sections of the road is not suitable for the highest speed, cr400af should be the latest and fastest high-speed train, there is a QR code on the armrest of the seat can order food, and the train attendant will deliver to your seat in the next station, the food brand is from the next station of fast food chain business. There is also a dining carriage in the middle of any train, and Starbucks coffee is also served on high-speed trains. Also, most Chinese people don't like Western-style toilets outside, but there are still some inside high-speed trains. Have a good trip!😊
No one will steal your bags in China. We are honest people and follow rules. Also, on trains you can order food and drinks anytime. Furthermore, most trains have some Western stye toilets, as the attendant, they will help.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the taxi in Beijing. I personally suspect that the taxi driver may have thought the distance to your hotel was too short (it's possible that the driver waited for 1 to 2 hours at Beijing South Railway Station before getting a passenger). Of course, this is not to justify the rude behavior of the taxi driver. Currently, in most cities in China, taxi service is quite average, so you might want to try using Didi instead.
Yeah, that could be the real reason. Give you an example. Shanghai's Pudong airport used to have two queues for taxis, one for short distances and one for long distances. If you are supposed to take a short ride and you get on the long line, it is likely to lead to an argument, because the long distance taxi driver may spend a long time in the queue, he thinks his time is wasted. I once got in the wrong line, and the driver was depressed. I asked him the reason, and after he told me the reason, I gave him 40 yuan tip to make him happy. Because my destination was the hotel near the airport. This rule was later said to have been changed so that if guests take a short ride, the driver could get a proof and return to queue first. Shanghai's Hongqiao airport is said to have different rules. But now many airports and high speed train stations upport Didi (Chinese version of Uber) to pick up guests, so I've always used that, I've never used Taxi again.
Never take traditional taxis in Beijing !!! Choose DiDi (China's Uber) instead , the prices are transparent, and the service is much better. Ten years ago, being a taxi driver in Beijing was initially a privilege reserved for local Beijingers. These old Beijing residents used to take pride in living near the Imperial City, which made them particularly arrogant and rude. In the past 5 years, with the development of Uber & DiDi services, these poor-service taxis are nearly going out of business.
I am Chinese. This kind of thing did happen more than a decade ago. Since the supervision of government agencies and the development of the Internet to online ride-hailing, this kind of thing basically no longer exists. Of course, this is related to the personal quality of the driver. No matter where you are, it is your right to get a taxi ticket. As a consumer, you must ask for a ticket to protect your rights. I wish you a pleasant journey~❤❤
southern chinese considers the northerners to be rude too. Their attitudes are more direct and forward. Always in a hurry because it gets very cold in beijing.
people in the northern regions are more known to be direct and it isn't meant to be more rude. If ever you question the price of the taxi you can speak to the police. All in all I think one bad taxi driver experience should not mean it's the same for everywhere.
You don't wanna sit on public toilet that is only getting cleaned twice a day unless it has one use seat cover. Better get used to the "hole in the ground" because that's the most hygiene way also natural way to shit.
If you are staying at Renaissance Beijing, then I'm only five minutes' walk from you😀 Welcome to Beijing. I am sorry to hear your experience with the taxi driver, obviously he tried to overcharge you because usually it only takes around RMB40 from Beijing South Railway Station to your hotel. I guess the reason why the taxi driver got rude was because he was disappointed that your destination was not "far enough", thus he couldn't make money. RMB100 is definitely rediculous for such a short ride, let along USD100. Anyway, the taxi drivers in Beijing are famous for their rude attitude (even to local Chinese) and nasty cars, I never take a taxi, DiDi is a good choice, besides, the subway system in Beijing is quite convenient, basically you can go anywhere by taking subway. There's a subway station named "Shuang Jing" (Line No.10) from your hotel to the South Station, it's about 10-minute on foot, you can ask the hotel's bellboy for direction. I hope you enjoy your trip in Beijing.
If you remember the license plate number of the taxi, you can file a complaint with the management platform. The platform will refund the excess money and impose penalties on dishonest drivers.
it is a pity that you met a rude and dishonest taxi driver, but he is not representative and I hope it will not affect your mood during the trip. Have a nice trip!
