Great video bro, I can break down my VW/audi with my eyes closed but when it comes to wiring I only pass with a 65, you my friend made it super easy to retro fit dogs on my 18 Passat GT project. Your explaining was excellent for someone like me that sucks at wiring. Thanks again!!💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

Also thanks for this video. I used it to install foglight from carid. I had to splice the harness off that connected to the crappy switch it came with in order for me to wire to my auto headlight switch.

Hello my friend , i install fog light on my vw passat b6 and i have a problem with voltage , when i start the car , i measure fog light socket it give me 14.2 volt ,it is too hight and melt my fog light because alternator start to charge battery! How to fix this! Thnx

+caseygawriluk Hey bro so I bought the fog light kit from USP along with the HID kit conversion kit. A friend and myself installed the fog lights last night but they fogs won't light. Another issue is the green fog light logo on the euro switch stays on even when the car is off. Any solutions?

why cant the ground negative wire in the fog light be connected to the body of the car ,, and the 12 volt power positive wire be connected to the existing front fog lamps power supply which will only receive power when the foglight switch is turned on from inside the car , , no need for relays or complicated harness then . Stick an inline fuse in the power supply to fog lights as well for safety , would this work ?

how do you remove the inserts if your car just had non-fog inserts are the plastic clips super difficult to unclip?

Simply pry from the inner part outward. Just pull back slowly. It'll eventually all just pull out

So do the foglights have a seperate off and on? Or do they come on when you turn the headlights on?
Mars21681 can only turn on the fogs with city lights and low beams. Can’t turn them on while DRLs are on. If you have the correct switch, you simply just pull out to activate them.
caseygawriluk This seems to answer my question. So the euro switch turns the lights on and there is no aftermarket switch down by the shifter or anything? If a bulb burns out, is there a dashboard light?
@@nathanpowell8953 I already have a Passat with everything on it. buying a petrol one next weekend and I'm just going to transfer everything including the auto headlights so they all come on when I unlock the car.. Buy a second hand switch from a scrapyard is what id do it if I didn't have one.

For mk5, my directions tell me to use number 5.
Great time to change out the shitty horn! Lol mines already came with fogs. But you need to install hella horns if you haven't yet. ;) much better.
Need to do that ASAP as well. Will look into it
+caseygawriluk it's very easy to install. My horn was located by the passenger fog light. Install was easy peasy. Just tap into the old horn using connectors and cover with tape and just bridge the horns.
Hi, I have a 2015 Jetta no fog lights. Can u tell me how to remove that front plastic grill on the passenger side?? I tried it a couple times but it won't budge. I've been wanting to replace the horn. Thanks.

I have the same USP Motorsports CAI. The bracket that holds the steering fluid reservoir broke from the tension of the hose. Do you know where I can buy a replacement bracket?

Wanted to see how to remove the lower outer grills, but you chose to skip that step entirely and spend way too much time showing us how route wires...
Gary Shepard use a plastic pry tool and start on the sharper point moving outward pulling towards you. It’s super easy to remove and not necessary to show. The main point of the video is how to wire it all up as a lot of people are afraid and have no clue how to do that type of work
Did you tint the headlights?
Yup. Both the headlights and fog lights are tinted with Lamin-X

I don't mean to spoil this parade of compliments, but what exactly do plug that blue treaded wire in, on the ENGINE BAY side?
Even the very ECS installation instructions do not mention one iota about the purpose of the wire, other than connecting it to Euro switch. That's just one end of the wire. Most DIYers could read and follow instructions...
Do you just grab a wire out of the blue (pun intended) and tread it into the cabin to connect it to the Euro switch, or it is one that it is ALREADY connected to something in that wire harness that comes with the ECS kit? You need to explain that if you really want to help people. Is it going into the RELAY? That would be the only educated guess I could come up with. Is that the case?

chefroA6 this tutorial is literally ECS’ installation instructions. I just felt like making a video version of it for myself.. Didn’t actually think it would blow up and get lots of views. I don’t need to revise anything. If you are having trouble, contact them. Don’t come complaining to me about something you can’t fully understand... ORR have someone install it for you. Thanks.
The blue wire is the trigger wire for the relay. Instead of running higher amp wires and a heavy duty switch you can just run a thin gauge wire to trigger the relay and turn on the lights.
This isn’t much help for facelift 2015 Jettas as the whole bumper must be removed and you can’t just yank out the grille like that.
auxmike well.... yours is considered a MK6.5. This is for a MK6...
lol if you buy crap from china on ebay they will simply ask you for an image of damage part wont event want you to send it back or in that case pay for shipping lol you simply get another part for free lol I though "ECS Tuning" was a reputable place with quality stuff lol BTW ive had my fog lights for almost 2 years now and bulb 9006 goes out quite fast ! take my advise buy LED for months now ive had "Samsung 3030 100W 20 LED 6000K Super White" and they still are excellent
