Malaysia aims to achieve high-income nation status by 2028. This goal is part of the national development plan to increase the country’s Gross National Income (GNI) per capita to meet the World Bank’s high-income threshold, which is around USD 13,000 or more per capita. The push for high-income status focuses on diversifying the economy, boosting sectors like technology, services, and manufacturing, and fostering innovation to reduce dependency on lower-value industries. Achieving this would mean higher wages, improved standards of living, and better infrastructure, enhancing Malaysia's competitiveness globally.
ONLY possible with massive Chinese investments as China is the ONLY country that has the money to invest in any country. Western and US economies are all not doing well. The massive Chinese students studying in Malaysia will bring massive income for Malaysia. Meanwhile unless meritocracy is implemented , high income is impossible.
little singapore ( a little red dot) respects and treasures educated, highly intelligent ministers, entreport which doesnt have any tin or palm oil or rubber, was handling imports /exports from Malaysia and Indonesia. Isnt this strange ??? Singapore mandates all students to embrace English and there was no affirmative actions reserved for a specific race. Malaysia on the other hand, relegated English 40 yrs ago from schools hence many malaysian students cannot even read or write proper English, then, Malaysia had affirmative actions for a special group, initiated NEP to boost the same group. Allowed brain drain because the brainiacs were not from this special group... so malaysia having the blessings from oil and gas, plantations for growing rubber and palm oil trees, tin and other minerals will not help much because the biggest leakage is corruption...

Not possible
Might become high income nation before 2028, based on rise of income and GDP in the last year or so.
Doubt so, as a Malaysian that's staying economics
