      You probably dont give a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can stream all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. I've been watching with my gf for the last days xD

    I don't think this is the fix your situation but may help someon else. Another very commom reason for limp mode (expecially 1997-2001 A6) is the output speed senor(also commonly called output speed sender) I got code P0272(oss circuit no signal) in my case it was as a pending code. The OSS tell the trans how fast it needs to spin when ingaging gears. Causes limp mode I only had 5th gear and reverse and the trans would SLAM into gear. Basically undrivable in any forward gear because it bogges out trying to take off from a stand still into 5th.(of course depending on trans some will have 4th gear limp if it's a 4 speed trans.) Also one last tidbit some models have the OSS outside the trans on the front drivers side others are located inside the trans and are excesable through the trans pan. Hopes this help somebody. It took me 100x longer to find this info than it took to make the repair.LoL And before buying any parts inspect wire an connecter on both ends.

    It could also be a bad connector. My Skoda superb had the same issue. There are some connectors undernead the a style of the car. Clean them and may be you are good.

    Just to share my experience here, I had t TCM replaced a few years back after clogged drains caused floor flooding. Since getting it back the selector was usually lit up like that. I've been able to get it to light up normally by resetting the on-board computer while starting, sometimes. Car drives fine otherwise, including tiptronic. I do get the Voltage Supply too low fault. A few times using Cruise Control would cause the cluster to suddenly light up (TC, etc) and put me in limp mode. Back to normal after restarting the engine. I've just stopped using the cruise control. I figure it's something along the wiring route from TCM up.

    did you ever find out what the problem was?

    Do you have pictures of your old Tcm? And was your floor dry and connections all clean because I'm in the same issue I just received my car back from motor swap. So I'm not sure if it's my tcm the car was from some south and seems pretty clean so I'm not sure why my car is in limp mode. It never was or did I have a bad trans or electrical issue..

      Have the TCM scanned with vcds or equivalent and see what faults are in it. Many things can cause limp mode, one of them being F189 tiptronic switch....but without knowing the fault codes you can chase things for a long time.

      @@kinderutz tiptronic gear selector I think is my problem and they say there a upgrade but when I first went into limp mode it went but the all the lights stay on every now and then it would work normally them now its seem so that it has to be that got my car staying in limp mode well £280 says I hope its is the fix 🙈 but yh took it apart but it like the car the same as if it ain't doing nothing anyway never notice a function change at all ....

      Besiktasli Kartal what are the codes?

    • @westender1
      @westender1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I forgot that. Couse put the car aside . Now will drive it again. If I am not mistaken code waz 0735.. When I erase the check engine light it shifts fine up to 50mph . around 50mph trans. hits and goes to limp mode after stop picks up from 4th gear.

      I just searched.. I was close. Code is P0734

      Anything "incorrect gear ratio" is a transmission rebuild...it's slippage if the 4th gear clutches.....assuming you have anough fluid in there.

    I have the same problem. What was you problem? I changed tcm computer and still same problem

    • @TIKOSCREAM
      @TIKOSCREAM 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      carlos mora it might be the TCM which is located behind the transmission, there are two tcm’s
      The computer (aluminum covered) and the one which is in the trans
