Many many years has gone into this and tryed doing one all in micro servos which turned out very sensitive, twitchy and extremely fragile, so needed to rethink the whole build and think of a better solution for robotics ,this thing is built like a tank compared to my servo driven one and so frigging fluent in movments I could not be happier with how it's turning out and having him completely programmable is mind boggling given how small he is and how real he will look once finished
Im working on it as iv already done a opening control panel door with working mini LCD screen but on a different model, nothing like this has ever been done on a movie accurate model of this size before and his torso is a little narrow for the led screen iv used previously but this is just the start of many builds so will definitely keep trying to ram as much electronics as I can into these models lol
Absolutely beautiful 🙏 i remember being a kid in the late 90s watching Short Circuit for the first time and wanting a J5 robot so bad, years i asked for one but sadly they didn't exist at the time, Johnny is the robot that got me obsessed with robots as a kid, back then they were legitimately impossible to find, no toys at the time no model kits, nothing, me and my dad ended up making our own rigged together with parts from my other toys😂 it's insane to see people bringing that to life modern day and that this movie was not forgotten. One day it would be an honor to buy one🙌
