45:15 No, John and Lisa are not the “better version” of you guys. They fill a totally different role in the hobby than you two do. Johanna’s scaping is amazing, and I always refer people to Mr Primetime for learning about a species, the nitrification process, all of it. A Harley and LOTR fan with phds in microbiology who knows so much, but is able to successfully translate it all for the common man. That’s amazing. The two of you together are always amazing. Thank you for doing what you both do. It has helped me immeasurably.
My kid is the reason I got into this hobby, so hearing about keeping kids away from the tanks is funny because I believe if you teach them over the years they will become so knowledgeable about the tanks and fish. I remember y'all talking about your 2 sons and how they grew up with fish. Such a cool family 😊
@10:50 I currently have a Dwarf Gourami in quarantine who recently developed ich. I'm treating with salt, heat and Cupramine in a 10g bare bottom tank with just a cave for decoration. Cupramine doesn't mix well with dechlorinators. How do I keep NH3 lvls down without water changes or adding Prime??
😂 A few months ago I repurposed a parmigiana cheese container. I crushed up my flake food and put it in the container to use as a shaker. I WAY over feed the first time I used it.
The number one fish channel 100% expert advice and you don't have to pay like some tubers do always look forward watching the stream and learn something I don't know happy fish keeping 👍
With high quality dry diets like Xtreme and North Fin it is not necessary in my opinion to feed those hiddeous blood worms and some of the other questionable frozen foods
Yes, i realize that Oase has it in the canister. Just saying from my experience it's much more convenient on the intake. I don't have to open, or even touch my FX4 to clean the pre-filter sponge. I'm not hating on Oase, and I enjoy your livestreams! I was just letting newer people know that they can use a pre-filter sponge on pretty much any filter. It's not a feature only Oase offers.
I use a pre-filter sponge on all my HOB and my Oase canister and the Oase built in pre-filter is always dirty but the canister is clean. The pre filters on your intake don't catch half of what Oase's built in pre filters catch.
@SmallLotGardening how do you know what the pre-filter on my fx4 in my home catches? Speak for yourself, my friend. The way I keep my aquariums and maintenance my equipment, the pre-filter I use on my fx4 works the same as the one on the Oase 250 I had, but is much more convenient to clean on the fx4.
1. Adding to much tea water concentrate, just to make the water more darker, wreaking havoc with the PH and taxing the fish. Fortunately lost just one.. Although losing him was sad ☹️. 2. Resetting the tank due to OVER ZEALOUS cleaning. 3. Filling up water too quickly, knowing there is a temperature gap substantially. Thats my personal list, atleast what comes to mind in real time. Although, in my defense, these mistakes were made 23 years ago. 😬

The best advice I've gotten from this channel is to quarantine for 4 weeks and it's worked for me every time❤
Woohoo!
Great idea with the Bio media for canisters and air stone during a power outage! Thanks
Tank talk needs a part 2 of cichlids for community aquariums
You may be right 😀
“Don’t fear the duckweed”. Yes!!🙌
I actually can’t seem to grow duckweed. Not sure what my problem is. 😂
Yes we had shaker cans when I was a kid, for flakes and bits.
@19:30
How does Fritszyme bottled bacteria survive being in a bottle??
They have a buffering system that works well.

That’s really the only way to do it, unfortunately
Love you guys ❤

Shaker cans existed
You do realize any canister or HOB filter with an intake tube can utilize a pre-filter sponge? Not just Oase.
Sure
That’s not what I was talking about. Oase has an actual giant prefilter sponge in the canister filter, not on the intake.
Yes, i realize that Oase has it in the canister. Just saying from my experience it's much more convenient on the intake. I don't have to open, or even touch my FX4 to clean the pre-filter sponge.
