This is why I enjoy watching your videos. You don't belittle anyone and you think outside the box. I like what you said at time 1:03:30 in the video about a person who can't read or write can still build a good house. Keep it up. I like this saying, Never judge a fish by it's ability to climb a tree or it will live it's whole life thinking it is stupid.

How many fish I can keep in my tank bla bla bla, but one day they will learn that there is no true answer. All its up to us. like you said you can keep a gold fish in a plastic bag lol but you will have to do a water change every 3 hours.

BTW - as entertaining as Hygger might be in those Amazon videos, I've had very good luck with their products. Lights, pumps, heaters, sponge filters. Did have one issue with a 4 gal aquarium kit I had purchased for my kitchen counter for a betta. The filter in the kit was missing some parts so I reviewed as much on Amazon. They read my review and offered to send me a whole NEW aquarium kit, without having to return the one I had received. And this was BEFORE the advent of COVID. They sent me a brand new aquarium kit, which was very nice of them! And very much appreciated...

Water Sprite planted grows like a tree under water. If you let them float the leaves become broad leaf. It looks like another plant. If you plant a broad leaf Water Sprite, it will turn into a tree looking plant. I sold Planted and Floating versions of the same plant for many years. You more patience when you grow plants than with fish or aquatic livestock.

Shrimps, crabs, etc, don't have hemoglobin, but hemocyanin.
They use copper like we use iron. Important for oxygen transport.

got a great brine shimp DIY hatchery! Take a gallon soda bottle, cut off the bottom, then silicone a airstone to the inside of the neck. Use a airpump to create the bubbles and Bob is your uncle! Just have to connect a wire to hang it from!

Brine shrimp eggs can last for 10 years in the wild and they mostly live in very hot hot areas, don't worry lol Salt lake areas are very hot places on the planet and they can live in very salty conditions even more so than the kits that you buy

I will never forget going to my local fish store when I was younger, being shown the serpae tetras and I loved their bright reds and their schooling/zipping. I told the guy the only tank I had at the time was a betta community tank(30 gal). He told me they made the best tank mates for bettas, almost better than the tiny catfish I was going to get(cory cats). So I went home quarantined them for a week, and added them on a Monday morning before I went to school. They looked great in the tank and seemed a little skiddish, but I figured they would warm up by the time I got home.
And that's why I will never have another serpae tetra ever( except for the 15 I have in their own 29 gal scarlet temple tank) in a tank with any other fish. My platinum rose tail betta named ghost I had for 3 years didn't make it a whole day with them

I know it's hard to believe but I own my own aquascape business and have a fish room. I'm always wet and in tanks around the clock every day. N yes I'm always on top of my own tanks. I'm just the 1% tho. I'm a little crazy 🤪💙💛💚💙💛💚

Hi Cory, just a comment about Canada (as a Canadian) I just placed an order with your store and had to ship the package to a friend in Seattle and have him send it to me in BC. $80 USD order plus $50 USD for my buddy to forward it to me(and the ordeal coaching him on the paperwork) and then another $20 CAD in taxes and duty at the post office. I can tell you, stop wasting your time with Amazon in Canada and let Canadians order from you directly. Canadians have a higher tolerance for exchange, shipping and taxes than it seems like you expect. If you just shipped directly to Canada from your store and charged for international shipping I think you'd be surprised at the result because there's not really any alternatives up here. Also, if you supplied directly you wouldn't need a Canadian accountant because you'd be getting paid in USD(through your CC Merchant service) and Canadians wouldn't feel like you're being mean with your prices because they're used to the extra costs involved. Amazon is evil, they don't deserve your business, you have a very sleek and efficient internal fulfillment system already that's more than capable of handling it

Note about sea salt in really soft freshwater, sodium is not a good plant nutrient it can cause some nutrient uptake restriction. Also Cory cats are really sensitive to sodium chloride less than a 1/8 teaspoon per gallon can cause problems, read about this in a book about softwater tropical fish at the Mark Hatfield Marine Biology Center. Adding Epsom Salt, is a better idea as Magnesium is a big element used in making Chlorophyll.

I have definitely used more salt then that with corydoras and haven't experienced problems. I'm not sure what the top tolerance is, but 1/8th of a teaspoon per gallon is a very small amount.
I'll have to research into sodium at low pH. I had low pH tanks and never encountered problems and saw improvements when dosing marine salt in my own testing.

I just finished a 1 month quarantine with 3 tablespoons in 10 gallons for corries and they did great. All of them survived and thrived in the salt.
