      Bruhh, this is not sketchy, it worked.. Also, it's explode once because I turned the power on/off really fast at the same times.. Probably the power supply is just shit, old and probably gonna die on it own anyway.. Maybe.. So yeah.. Thanks for the vids.. I learned a lot.. Just make sure it is not over 12V I guess..

    please bundle your yellow wires and your black wires together. you will get more amps = more power.

    I tortured the shit out of a 550 watt Coolermaster doing this, tying all the yellow and black rails together. I was pushing an amp with a 90 amp fuse hold and two 15 inch Kicker L7's, and I wasn't going easy on the system. Coolermaster PSU's dude. Coolermaster. the 550 watt Coolermaster PSU was doing the job of a 1000 watt PSU. still works to this day.

    I think a power converter would be better to use instread of this pc power supply. I 'm sure that a 100-200watt 110V-220V AC / 1.5V-12V DC at 10A LED tape power converter will play this amplifier beautifully and unfold its power to the maximum.

    How do you connect the speakers for mid-high range to your amp

  • @midlander3760
    @midlander3760 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The concept is good, but using a single wire yellow and black wire is not of appropriate gauge to safely deliver the current the power supply can deliver. Tying all the yellow wires together and all the black wires together, as shown in other videos, effectively provides a much larger gauge conductor to the car amp which would be much safer. As a side note, computer power supplies show how much current the +12v rail can supply. The safest thing to do would be to use a power supply that can deliver more current (amps) than the fuse (or total of fuses if the car amp has multiple) on the car amp to ensure the power supply will not be stressed and can provide all the power the car amp could need. Just a couple thoughts. Thanks for the video.

    U need AT LEAST a power supply with 30 amps on the 12 volt line, I have been doing this for years and it works well. Cheap light weight power supplies will not handle any high amp draws, get one thats heave with lots of amps...Enermax power supplies work well .

    that's a great way to set ur house on fire power wires way too small that amp needs way more amps then that power supply can put out plus u should have ran ur speakers in series to get 4 ohms then bridge the amp you have no idea what ur doing plus every time u Trun it off the amps going to shut down on low voltage because u jumped the remote to hot not smart

      Hi,can you explain how you done it with laptop cable,i have one but the power supply

    • @_Ciosu..
      @_Ciosu.. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, sorry it's been a long time since I used that setup, using PC power supply is much more easier.. But with a laptop cable, I think it cut off at the end after that box looking thing of that cable.. It should be two wire in there, then you connect it to your amplifier.. From all of my experience back from 2 years ago, most amplifier or car mp3 required 12V of power.. So, using computer power supply is easier cause they're all mostly 12V wire.. You can even run it with your PC if you have the 12V wire extension ( like for a PC fans ).. That box from laptop cable is I believe a transformer, that I guess transform the current to 12V but I'm not sure cause my amplifier just stop working, lol.. So now I'm using a car mp3 and a PC power supply.. Hope you understand my explanation, have a good day.. Ohh btw, this video help me learned a lot about this.. Credit to that 👍🏻👏🏻

    • @_Ciosu..
      @_Ciosu.. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Disclaimer : Please be careful and cautious with the PC power supply, it CAN EXPLODE.. Mine already did once.. So do it on your own risk.. Maybe it's depends on the quality of the power supply..

  • @byCDMC
    @byCDMC 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    FYI, Green WIRE, not fucking CABLE... also, for anyone who dont know shit about stuff like this. check the car amp fuse. if its a for example 500W car amp that has 50A fuse, get at least a 600+W PSU (good quality one, not any no-brand garbage!) with at least 60A on +12V to get most of the car amp. if you use weak and cheap PSU's you will blow the fuck off the damn voltage regulators and burn our house down...(or damage the amp) Also quality brand PSU's have protection for short circuit or overload and all that crap, so if you use a quality PSU and something goes wrong, the PSU will shut off to protect it self and everything connected to it.

      nahhhh...it wont burn the house down unless its not protected by circuit breaker. If the power source is not sufficient to supply the amount of current, the Amplifier will go to protection mode first and shut down the amp.

    omg... you can bundle more of the 12v + and more the the 12 - togather will give you more amps of power and = more watts from your amp there is NO way 1 run of each will run that amp at MAX watts you will more than likely burn up the power wire in a short time

    Hello mate ! I followed your instructions using a PC power supply too( RATED OUTPUT @145Watts). It did powered the amp and put out a short music but, it just quit and pc power supply fan stops too. I tried unplugging it and plug it again and the amp powered up and quit again. I am using a ALPINE Mono Amp MRP M850 driving dual 12 inch subs, any idea why power supply just quit? Is it underpowered ?
    Your video was very clear and very helpful btw. Thanks for sharing.

      The power supply can't handle the load, get a power supply can handle more power

      not only do you need to match the power but you also need to account for the unused power on the 5v rails etc and deduct or rather just find out how much current can be output from the 12v rails you are using as a 145w supply might only output eg a 100 watts on the 12v rail you are using and 45w on 5v which you are not using and there is 3.3v as well

      Ad a 10 ohm resistor between a RED wire and a BLACK..... that should keep the PSU running. Some PSUs gotta have the load on the red wire to keep running once powered up.

    i would check the recommended input values for the amp like Voltage and Amps. and compare it to the power supply's output values to avoid frying something. It's like cellphones and chargers.. your cell phone tells you what type of charger it needs, they may look the same but they throw different amps values. that's why cell phones don't charge or get too hot, the Amps have a lot to do with it.

      djkubo a computer PSU can't put out as much power as a big car battery unless you get like an EVGA 1600w one

      Not getting the required amperage from the power supply you are using. If your amplifier comes with two 30 amp fuses or something like that, a pc power supply may not run it. You would need something about 12-14 volts with at least 60 amps constant to run the amplifier at a high volume. Better off running it off a car battery with a battery charger connected to maintain the battery's charge during use.

      please folks dont try this. wont call the guy an idiot but he doesnt know what hes doing. yes pc powersupply will take 120v to 12v sure. but if you know what your doing powersupplies have several channels of power. most of the busess are 3.3v and 5v I beleive only 1 channel of 12v. no wat can you pull say 650watts on a 650watt powersuuply through just the 12v leads. maybe 100 watts of the 650 will be available. plus 24guage wire to a 500 watt car amp I use 4-8 guage.
      this is possibly a fire hazard but mostly comical.
      if anybody is serious about running bad ass car audio in the house you need coverter not an inverter , then you can watt for watt juice up big car amps I the house.

    NO! You shouldn't shortened the 12v and remote terminals , remote has its own voltage it will damage the amp

      R. A. No it won't, that's what it's for. every monoblock I've ever seen tells you to short the remote and +12v terminals to activate it. know what you're talking about before you try to sum someone up
