Somewhere deep in the Belgian countryside, we discovered this beautiful property completely frozen in time. A rich piece of Belgian culture, is now left abandoned and seems to be forgotten in ages. This abandoned farm house, owned by a Belgian farmer family, is one of those properties that was passed on from generation to generation. Now, 20 years later, we explore it to find out what's left.

The little wheel with a handle is for sewing, it’s called a tracing wheel. You would lay chalked paper, chalked side down between the uncut fabric and paper pattern and roll the wheel along the cutting lines on pattern paper. The little spikes on the tracing wheel would leave a dotted chalk line on the fabric to show where to cut. Great video.

The magazine was 70 years old, sad to see someone's home, decaying, to wonder what happened to them. Interesting to reading others comments. Well-done boys. Cheers Lynne Australia 🇦🇺🐨👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The plastic item that looks like a hat hanging on the coatrack is a form for drying baseball type caps after they are washed so their shape is retained.

Adore both of you, your accents and calming voices are so relaxing while you give us the history and tour, that's why I love watching your video's. The bike at the start for some reason reminded me of Germany, maybe I watched a documentary and saw a similar bike. A journey back in time, how wonderful would it be to see that home as it was new. @19:22 That stunning piano with the hand carved Angel's Beautiful. I'm Amazed at how high the ceilings were for that era. Another brilliant video. Thank you both from Australia xx

The pizza cutter device was a tool used with carbon copy paper t mark patterns for making clothing. When you first entered the house there was a pretty modern washing machine and right behind it was an antique one that was from way back in the 40's. They called it a wringer washing machine. Thank you for this trip through history.

Hi again, After watching your video more restfully for a second time, I saw some very nice details in that old, historically interesting typical
belgian farmhouse. - The living room with the bed was very cozy, but i fully agree to you, that the room with the beautiful upright piano was
a real surprise. - After my opinion it was furnished with quite a fine sense of elegance and style. It reminded me somehow of a typical French
"salon", the representative room of a house/ mansion. - The oven by the way was designed in a very clearly identifiable art nouveau style with
the wonderful floral elements. I guess the age more than 120 years old. - Very beautiful was the mantplepiece clock with the highly decorative
two matching candlesticks, probably from the turn of the 19th/ 20th century. - The pictures on the wall and ceiling showed also elegance
and style. - On the whole you were taking us viewers through a location, literally frozend in time - a true time capsule!
I loved watching this explore. - Amazing!! - Wonderful explore, dear friends. - Peace and lots of blessings! - Kindest regards.

Wow! Another Amazing Find. You really never know what you will find on your travels. This one was very unique. A lot of Antiques and Religious Relics here. Very Beautiful Carvings of the dog & cat in the woodwork of the drawers. Wow. A lot of work must have gone into this one of a kind piece of Furniture. I really love the piano with the Candle holder. Very unique. The decay and cobwebs are really kind of interesting though. The funeral card for the nice Man was so interesting. And the fact that it came from the early 1900's was so fascinating. Thank-You for another incredible Exciting Explomo Expedition. Looking forward to the next find of place unseen & unknown. Take Care, Much Love To You Both. Stay Safe & Healthy. Peace To You Both.

The US word for the protectors to use under a beverage container is called a coaster. In the dresser drawer you found a tool that you didn't recognize, and that is used for sewing in the old days to mark sewing lines. My Mom had one, and she used carbon paper, but I think powdered chalk was also used by tailors. Hope that helps.

This home is just so lovely and full of many treasures. I am in love with the tile floor in the parlor. The drapery is quite grand as well. I think this family was quite well to do. I am quite struck by how in so many of these houses even if they are abandoned not that long ago they are not full of modern amenities. It is quite charming the appreciation of things that are still useful and not discarded because they are not "modern". I live in an 1802 Greek Revival in Maine, USA. I appreciate and love old homes very much. Thank you for exploring and showing us all these once loved homes that would be forgotten if not for you both.

Sad old house 🏡 but interesting - thank you. The mat you put under a glass to protect table is called a coaster in English. Looking forward to the next video. Gill

What to me is bizarre is that the house may have been abandoned in the 1980s, but the furnishings are all so much older. I'd say the grand house (and most of its furnishings) come from the 1920s. Including the Godin stoves and the Egyptian Revival bed upstairs (carved papyrus flowers). Also, I believe the original owner of the house was a pastor, hence the countless religious relics and the white collar in one of the drawers! The collar shows in his photographs, too.

This house is more likely built in 19th century and the most of the furniture is from late 19th century with some 1920's exceptions. Back in a day the furniture was of good quality, hard wood, and there was no need to change it. That's the reason why these locations are filled with antique furniture because it could endure generations just with a little more extra care. There's that charm of such places because natural materials prevail.

@@croheritage3d177 You are right about some of the furniture being late 19th century, thinking now of the one piece with the carved cat and dogs rosettes!

I also believe there was a priest ( not a pastor) in this family. - The furniture was probably inherited from the parents or grandparents. Don't forget there 2 world wars in those days. Who would be thinking on updating the furniture when the money they had was for the basics.

The small "pizza slicer" is for marking material when sewing possibly?
