I love the debuts and surprise returns in the Royal Rumble like : AJ Styles, Edge, Booker T, Rey Mysterio and John Cena. That’s what makes the match so special and exciting

@@JonhTheGamerEveryone knew about AJ styles' return and his return still managed to get me so hyped when it happened. Physically seeing him in WWE was still like a dream to me.
I always love when a legend make a return at the Rumble, I feel like it's the best PPV for big return especially after being out for many years, Whether they were in a midcard or a main event scene before, It always feels like a big deal and adds to the show despite the PPV not being memorable.
If not Stone Cold, Kofi Kingston truly is the Mr. Royal Rumble those amazing saves in every Rumble makes him one of the greatest Royal Rumble performers of all time.
I think Kane takes that title, there have been rumbles where he eliminates nearly half the competitors himself

Edge's 2020 Royal Rumble return is hands down the best surprise Royal Rumble return ever
Seeing Mickie James, who was currently the TNA IMPACT Knockouts Champion, made a BIG appearance at the Royal Rumble match, so I would be immensely surprised if Chris Jericho would show up in the Royal Rumble match despite being signed to AEW!!!
Jerry lawyer in 2000 laughing about Taka falling on his face, and asking to replay it all throughout the match really sticks out in my memory. Poor Kai en tai 😂

I went to the Royal Rumble last year in San Antonio. It is an absolute blast.
4:18 I was in the building that night. I didn’t want to buy into the rumors but when he came out the building came unglued. I will never forget that Rumble match

Mil Mascaras never eliminated himself he went through the middle rope, he is still in the 97 Rumble to this day.

something i noticed how the runner up for a while would go on to be in the main event or in a different world title match
2000: The Rock & Big Show both in the main event
2005: Batista & John Cena both in world title matches
2006: Rey Mysterio & Randy Orton in the same WHC with Kurt Angle
2007: Undertaker & Shawn Michaels in world title matches
2008: John Cena & Triple H in the same world title match with Randy Orton
2009: Randy Orton & Triple H facing each other for the world title
2010: Edge & John Cena both in world title matches
2012: Sheamus & Chris Jericho in world title matches
2018: Shinsuke Nakamura & Roman Reigns in world title matches
2019: Becky Lynch & Charlotte in the same world title match with Ronda Rousey
2021: Bianca Belair & Rhea Ripley in world title matches
2022: Ronda & Charlotte fighting each other for the world title
In 2020 if Roman wasnt pulled then that would be on the list too
It was somewhat common during the brand split era, because it would resolve the issue of finding a #1 contender on the opposite show. Even a year like 2011 used the Rumble to set up both matches (Miz interfering to throw out Cena with help from Alex Riley, and Del Rio going on to face Edge).
@@gabepollock1641 I think Alex Riley was supposed to eliminate Cena but got accidentally eliminated and they made a audible for Miz to do it. Good change in the situation

Best PPV ever. Royal Rumble matches are always entertaining to watch even if they’re bad ones.
the royal rumble is by far my favorite matches of the year.. i believe the royal rumble PPV or PLE is the one event i haven't skipped in about 20 years, might have caught it the next day a couple times, but always watched it, pretty much just for the royal rumble matches. i have skipped wrestlemania a few times, but not the rumble.
i think at this point they have to many people on the roster, especially the men's side, for just 30 entrants, there is no room for surprises.. they either should increase the number or have two royal rumble events per year, maybe one in june or july, the winner gets to main event summer slam... but probably just going with one 40 entrant match would be better.

Entrant 2 is actually entrant 1.5 if you think about it...
I have a bone to pick with Mascaras being an example of an accidental self-elimination. Riley & Austin both botched, but Mascaras eliminated himself because he refused to let anyone get over by doing so. Him diving to the outside was the only compromise they could reach to include him the match.
Right. Mascaras eliminating himself was anything but accidental. Mascaras had a reputation for not putting people over and not selling properly. Him eliminating himself was the only way he was able to include him in the Royal Rumble that year. Maybe they could have included Randy Savage eliminating himself that one year, although that may not have really been accidental as he eliminated himself to go after the person he was in a feud with at the time. It could have been a storyline "accidental" elimination.

I wish Maven had not only eliminated The Undertaker but then used Taker's kneeling and eye rolling pose as he estimates Taker. Fans would have talked about that moment for years.
Taker wasn't the Deadman when Maven eliminated the former. You forgot that Taker was the American Badass at that time.
It's good for returns, but overall theres like maybe 5 spots in a match that can last for what feels like forever. It's just corners and pummel, oh is he goin' over, nah someone forearmed him on the back he stopped.
Anything can happen. They just made this year's Men's royal rumble irrelevant

Mascaras didn't eliminate himself. He went between the top and middle ropes to get on the top turnbuckle to perform the jump. He was illegally eliminated. The commentators are obviously not doing proper research. Go back and rewatch the 1997 rumble
Even the most anti-WWE wrestling fans love the Royal Rumble. I know because I used to be a hardcore anti-WWE I always loved the Royal Rumble and matches like it. I don't really watch MLW, but I will always tune into their Battle Riot.

One thing you said in this was definitely true how you can stop watching for a while and come back to the rumble and be entertained every time totally true wrestling sucked for like the last 20 years or so every once in a while I watch but if I do watch every once in a while I usually is the Royal Rumble. And just to throw it in here the reason why wrestling sucked for the last 20 years or so there's a bunch of reasons for that but the biggest reason is Michael Cole that stupid ass has to go I hate him as always have. Think about it when you first came in when I saw him he used to get made fun of on a regular basis and the guy was just a goofy announcer that used to get messed with by everybody pretty much and now all the sudden he needs to face the company I'm sorry you can't just prevent someone to me as a loser like you did with him and then all of a sudden try to make him cool some of the wrestlers can pull that off but definitely not him.
