Alka, Love watching all your vlogs and love from Bangalore. Here there has been a trend to offer combo breakfast in many hotels for affordable price. Now i don't venture out so much as before (30 years before), I am sure that Many more combo breakfast, lunch and Dinner would be available at Dadar, Mahim or Matunga areas. Many Thanks Sister. God bless us All. Jai Karnataka and Jai Maharashtra (I am a mix of both soils). Namaskara. Another great Gomantak thali which should be explored is a hotel next to grant road rly. station west. which was excellent and pocket friendly during that time.

Vaddaradhane and Soopa shastra are other ancient recipe books in Kannada older than first French culinary books

I have 2-3 people in my team for the shoot and we all finish the food together and if not then we parcel it and take it home. Not even 1 spoon of it goes waste

Hi alka it's not sago it's sagu. Pls don't pronounce it the wrong way. Video is nice. Looking at the upma i can very well make out they have not fried the rava at all.
Earlier I thought it is sago so it should be something related to sabudana but later when I saw alu ki sabji so checked it in the menu and realised that it is actually sagu but we had already shot that part of the video. Had it for the first time so didn't know the correct pronunciation. Sorry for that 🙏

This happens only because of the difference in pronunciation of hindi and kannada words and their spellings in English. Someone earlier commented it is Karnatak and not Karnataka. Nonetheless, there's nothing wrong in correcting it, but we should not make a big deal out of it as far as we respect their language as it is impossible to please everyone.
Please stop using the words 'South Indian'. Mangalore Buns are not available in any other Non Udupi restaurants. This is Karnataka food served to you. There are 5 states and 2 Union Territories in the so called south. Sambar served is Karnataka style. Sagu is authentic to Karnataka. Kindly explore all the southern states to get the taste of all cuisines. Kerala breakfast is entirely different. So kindly don't use the word South. Filter coffee is very authentic to Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. It appears you are very ignorant about the cuisines of each of Southern states. Kindly go to Kerala. Don't just vlog for the sake of it.
Entire south India was under Karnata Samrajya also called Vijaynagar empire for centuries This karnataka based empire protected south from invasions Vijaynagar empire was bigger than lasted longer than was richer than Mughal kingdom
This common Vijaynagar rule is reflected in similarity in food clothing musuc etc Nothing wrong in calling it South Indian to differentiate from North Indian punjabi type cuisine
