I am limited to 5500RPM for now, so I really couldn't evaluate it's pulling power. (Mine had 1 mile on it and I will adhere to the manufacturer's recommended break in limits.) One thing I would disagree with is that it's an inexpensive "grand touring bike". I have one with around 1700 miles on it. Last bike was a Yamaha Tracer 900. So both are in the Sports Touring family. I love the looks of the Suzuki over the Yamaha. The Suzuki sits lower and weight distribution is better. The seat is more comfortable. The foot peg is higher than the Yamaha which I initially did not like but soon came to love because the lower peg position of the Yamaha was causing the seat edge to bother the inside of my legs on longer trips. Handling the Suzuki feels more controlled where the Yamaha is so agile it feels like you could sneeze in a corner and dump it. The Yamaha seemed twitchy enough to be an off-road bike but the Suzuki moves into where you want it and feels solid. On the same corners the Yamaha would need to be laid over more. Suzuki's quick shifter is amazing. Its headlights are lensed so low beam does a horizontal beam that extends past the edges of the road. In my opinion gets drivers attention better than the Yamaha. High beam does a generous path down road center. Brakes are not racing brakes. You will not get instant grab like the Yamaha, however they seem perfect for traffic conditions and two-up riding because as you pull it engages in perfect progressive braking. Power wise it is amazing. This bike is heavy on the Sport with a dash of Touring. Handle bar position is very slightly forward. The Yamaha was true neutral and I found I could get complacent and not be ready for its torquey nature. The Suzuki with the slight lean forward has you prepared at all times for its ample power. Things I do not like: 1) I have the Sparkle Black and find the tank paint weak, thin, and easily scratched. Tank pads all around need to be added. 2) The fixed windscreen is okay for summer but you will need other screens for various conditions. This should have been adjustable. I will probably cut a slight v shape in the stock screen to make a dedicated summer choice and buy an after market taller cold weather one. All in all I love this bike and think it beats out the Tracer for sure. I highly recommend this bike.

@Occam’s Razor Hey, not sure how to put a picture on here. However I bought a WRS Smoked Screen for the GT. I still got a little more wind than I wanted for long touring so I bought longer stainless steel bolts for the top 2 windscreen mounts and put a stack of small washers under each to pitch it up a hair more. It worked pretty good but I am going to make another adjustment and see how that does. I have 5k miles on the GT atm. I have not done the stock screen V cut for summer yet. I did that on the Tracer and had 9k miles on it. The V cut makes a nice wind cushion for the helmet to sit in. I left the stock screen corners at height and put the V from those down 1/3 the screen then spray painted the inside of the screen black. Makes for a more connected to the elements feel but you also catch every bug on your helmet.

I owned a Gsx s1000 for a year and it was an awesome bike. Now seeing this, this looks like its the perfect bike since it comes with cruise control and still has the super power.
One thing I gotta say though is that I absolutely LOVE the new GSX-S1000 (naked). The new fairings look super sharp and angular, which is exactly what I wanted. I actually like the new headlight design as well, no idea why some people trash on it. I think it looks very unique with the vertical stacked lamps. The tech package is not too crazy but it's more than sufficient for my riding style.
I have the 2023 gsx S1000. You are spot on. Love the looks, the quick shifter and the handling. The naked is tuned differently than the GT version. Much more aggressive and torque everywhere. Amazing bike!!!
I have this bike since May (bag version). I am totally satisfied with this ride. It has everything you want except I wish it had center stand. You did'nt mention the My Suzuki app for your phone that pairs to the bike for GPS, music, phone etc. and it works very well. I am 65 years old and this bike is very comfortable for my style or riding. My 1st Suzuki in 40 years of riding! I live in Dallas and the dealers pretty much stay sold out of this bike. @@motorcycleislife8296 I've ridden 250 miles with no dis-comfort. Took short fuel stop at 140 and rode the rest. We're in 103-107 heat wave right now so my riding has stopped till this passes. I'd say if you take fuel break at 140-150 ish miles I could ride 600-700 miles in a day. I did upgrade to the Suzuki custom seat for this bike, and it is more comfortable than stock seat. I plan a trip to the Big Bend region of Texas when it cools off...that trip is 1700 miles in 4-5 days, so we will see how it does on that one!
@@jonfelty6063 Does the seat make the bike higher? I'm coming from a Ducati Multistrada looking at this for a little more fun but still take longer, 2-4 hours rides and light touring.

OC: I fell inlove with the GT when I got to sit on it. It feels like I am at home with the bike. It feels like I can ride non-stop for hours and enjoy every kilometer. Yeah, I agree that Suzuki might have struck gold with the GSX-S 1000 GT. It is not the perfect bike, I agree, not even the best bike BUT for its price and the value it gives, it is the PERFECT Sport Touring motorcycle.
I have a 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000GTA and I enjoy every ride on it. My only negative points are the following: no ajustable windshield and no heated grips. The Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX has them. 🙂
I had a 2018 ninja 1000 and now the 2018 gsxs, the power is way better delivered on the Suzuki, the Kawa, the red line comes too quick and it feels much heavier and doesnt corner like the suzuki does.
After 6000+ (touring) miles on my GSXS 1000 GT+ here are my thoughts. I love it overall, and I agree with this review. Touring I don't worry about breaking down in remote areas. Suzuki's are reliable... Saying that, here are the (small) cons I have; I missed having heated grips in the cold/rainy weather. In the heat the engine fan comes on at every light and the heat is uncomfortable on the right leg. Bug splatter on shoulders/ helmet. (I'm 5'7") The locking mech on the bags are cheap, be careful... With full touring weight the kickstand is suspect...
Just test rode one today at a demo event in Florida. I have a GSX-R1000K6 that I'm tired of leaning forward on. This GT is what I wish my GSX-R was after a long days ride. I was totally impressed with the bike. Needless to say, I left a deposit for a black one.
Great vid thanks !! Test rode one of these bikes as I am thinking I don’t want an adventure style bike for commuting -touring, … bring back sport tourers!! , loved this bike and considering buying one, great bike 👊
Here in Canadian 🇨🇦 money , it’s about 18,500$ plus 15% tax ,and 7,99% interest !!! Pretty expensive for a touring sport bike. Still, it’s a beauty ,and it’s SUZUKI 👍👍👍
I don't get the hate for the F... Its an inexpensive liter bike geared for the street, it has upright bars and a fairing so you can put real miles on it without getting sore, and if you get an exhaust and flash the ecu it rips like a real k5 but with more torque. And it looks unique, every liter bike coming out these days is just copying eachother, like the gt youre riding.
Was patiently waiting for a state-side practical review of this! As a GSX owner and loyal Suzuki rider (if you can't beat em, join em. Can't knock the majesty of the GSX). Nice to see it in the flesh, seems like a logical package at its price, with a frame much more impressive than it's peers. PS. Please don't kill the engines right after you do a high rev like that in the beginning sound test 😅. You leave tons of oil pressure in the upper parts of the motors that typically would equalize at idle, and just leave it stuck under pressure! Even 3-5 seconds is enough to allow the oil pressure to equalize again.
Would the engine need to be rotating to equalize the pressure? Just curious, i would have assumed that oil channels in the engine would still allow it to?
Sorry, I don't understand what you mean... there is no pressure if the engine is not running. You turn it on pressure rises, engine off pressure drops. Unless you have a racing oil pump that runs even with engine off.
@aj2858 not a good habit, and it's not good for any motor, especially turbo or dry sump systems. High RPM creates high pressure, and allowing to idle for a few moments gives it time to lower briefly. Not all lines and pumps can always depressurize when the engine is immediately turned off. We have machines of all makes and models and it's just good practice to prevent any hiccups or unnecessary wear on engines.
it'd be nice if you could ride the 1000sx and we could get a direct comparison. from other reviews, my personal takeaway is that there are three things better on the 1000gt: the quickshifter is supposedly smoother, the display is bigger and better laid out, lower seat height. but the 1000sx has better range, a remote preload on the rear, better power in the low and midrange, and better handling overall.
Lower seat heights are only a benefit for shorter riders, us long legged people need more room between the seat and pegs that we tend to get with taller seats
@@Villani_AV sure, but in general, most people are going to want it lower. they build bikes to an average. depending on how sporty it is, they may push the average and go taller to give better handling. but by and large, seat height is dictated by what will work for the average rider. so right off the bat, half of people are going to want it shorter... but it's actually more than half of people because a shorter seat just makes it easier to handle while standing at a light or moving around a parking lot, for everyone but the absolute tallest riders. so, by my own guesstimation, i believe the majority of people would prefer a shorter seat height.
I looked and test drove the GT and the previous version GSX-S1000F. I found a brand new 2020 GSX-S1000F and pulled the trigger on it. Preferred the lines of S-1000F over the GT. This engine wakes up when you hit the 7K rpm range and it is a wild ride all the way to the redline. Not a fan of the GT look. Only difference I miss is that the GT has throttle by wire and the S100F has cable throttle. Otherwise, love the bike and it is one heel of a ride. Not giving up much at all over the GSX-R at all. ! I am a previous owner of GSX-R1000 and GSX-R750, but I am 55 and wanted a little more comfortable ride that the R, which the S provides. Good review!
OC: Nice to see Suzuki making a competitive iteration of their machines. I got to ride the 2017 version of the nekkid GSXS at a demo day. The pegs were too high and the throttle was like a light switch, otherwise it was a sporty and comfortable ride. Seems like Suzuki has had the right ingredients for a long time, only sometimes they flop after they're baked. Glad this one is done to a chef's kiss.
I have the precursor to this, the 2019 gsxs1000fz. I feel like barely anyone has it or knows it. They're for dads that wanna go fast. I feel like it's got a lot of the same improvements on what people think of suzuki gsxs already and the gt is fz improved.
Hi, well I have read all about the gxs s1000 and also see some first ride videos like yours. I was thinking about buy a Yamaha XSR900 instead the GXS. But now I changed my mind and fall in love again with the Suzuki GXS S1000 GT plus. So soon I will have one thanks for your assistance.
Everything on these types of bikes is made heavier. From the frame and subframe to the engine and it’s various components it’s all made of heavier and cheaper metal. Same with the n1k. This engine is based on the k5 gsxr, but all of it’s attached parts, casings and etc are made to be as light as possible on the R bike and made to be heavy duty and long lived on the touring bike. Then you couple in the plastics being bigger and even the mirrors probably weighing a bunch more than the R bike. If you ask me, they did a good job keeping it as light as they did at the price point they did.
Also I want to point out this bike and the n1k feel much much more solid and better built (it’s more of a feeling based on the heaviness of the parts than actual quality) then a lot of the other bikes that are kind of in this price range and philosophy of use. Love the MT10, but this just feels like a higher quality road bike and feels like it’ll hold up better over the years although it won’t ever be as fast
This has piles of cladding and more chassis parts than the no compromise GSXR1000. Everything done on a GSXR is for performance, most things on this is a balance for comfort. All touring bikes weigh more than their Super Street counterparts, even when they share a chassis. Considering it's under 500lbs when the GSX650F/1250F Sport Tourers are 520-540lbs, this is incredibly light for a larger sport touring bike.
@@monkmoto1887 I can believe this would feel higher quality than an mt10. Suzuki puts out some good products that don't need any design changes for a very long time, always very well executed.
@@GIZZMOTORSPORTS it’s something everyone takes the wrong way when I say it too, It’s a great bike but all the MT series feels cheap and sort of cobbled together. This thing feels much more solid, more tight. More like a Honda and less like a harely you know
If you're in A mode and you hit low gear 6000 revs she's a Gixxer . Beast mode. Just bought mine in candy red. Came from the ninja sx. Love this bike. You can change the screen to black which looks so much better.
I have to say I very much enjoyed riding this bike. The powerplant and performance was spectacular. As a taller rider it did start to get a bit uncomfortable after a while. As Chase mentioned it still has a lot of sportbike DNA, so the all day comfort isn't there, however this is a great bike from Suzuki!
OC This bike is a beautiful looking bike. I love the color, the aesthetic, but as a new rider, that power is extremely intimidating to me, especially since it scared Chase
I think Chase loves every bike he rides, the boys over at Revzilla were not excited about this bike at all, Ari said he didn’t like it at all, you could hear it in Zacks voice that he was not impressed. I sat on one for a matter of minutes and it was not comfortable at all…. This bike is definitely on the sport side of sport tourers. Apparently Suzuki still is not able to deliver them in the US with side cases… I truly wanted to like it….
Carbon Black is best looking if you can afford the extras including rim decals. The wooden brakes still suck and while fixable with better pads and braided metal lines it is still what holds the GSX back in comparison to other more expensive bikes. I agree totally otherwise.
Love my bike. A mode is stupid fast but hilarious. Some reviewers complained about soft brakes, honestly I changed the pads and levers and the breaks are perfect for me now.
I am wondering why that first 40 to 80 pull in 2nd gear was very sluggish??? I own this bike, mine is the 2024 s1000GT+ and it will absolutely rip in 2nd gear when going 40. It will rip in 2nd gear even at 30 when giving it full throttle. I am loving every bit of it. Typically I’ll turn off the quick shifter for a week then turn it on for a week. This helps with not forgetting basic motorcycle operations and becoming to reliant on technology.
Great review Chase! I think this is the touring bike for the sportier rider - maybe not above 6ft. I love my VFR, but when thinking about my next bike definitely want to test out the N1000SX. Please test that out for us!
Yup. For those who still like their vfr its a tough bike to replace. Sure id like a modern, lighter, more powerful bike but nothing worth my money on market right now.
Similar if not better. However, the overall package is much more geared for long riding. The CB is a fantastic machine just not as slippery through the wind.
Am I the only one seeing a Yamaha with Suzuki stickers? Love the bike though ! I would definitely check it in person ! amazing style. The tail is like you said a bit chunky. If they had made it with a GSXR tail it would be immensely good !
OC I would love to see this market expand across all brands. Reskin there SS bikes to handle the weight of touring, improved ergos for comfort, and not try to look like a street only adventure bike i.e. Tracer, XR, Multi…. I want a Panigale V4 with factory hard bags!!! Better yet, S1000GT “M”. That would be a fun class of bikes.
Suzuki are pulling the GSXR1000 from the UK and EU due to emissions. From 2023 onwards the GSXS1000GT is the closest thing you'll get to a Gixxer thou from Suzuki. Weird.
Ha ha best review i’ve seen yet ! Love the enthusiasm and honest performance. Great camera angle too , so boring to watch only a cockpit view! I have one on order, hope it comes before summer runs out .😆
OC Very well ridden Suzuki , I like it , an investment worth the money from what you covered in video . I may have missed it but what Tires and Quality of tires from the factory are on this Suzuki GSXS 1000 GT+ ??
OC: I think it looks great, very nice lines and it certainly does seem to be a heck of a lot of bike! What are your thoughts on this versus the Katana? A bit of a different class comparison, but it does seem like a reasonable train of thought. 😁

If you want one its deposit and wait on it! I would say get it if you think it's for you.
Hows the longer riding? This bike looks great for Dallas and longer riding
@@eafc2112 No the seat height is about the same…perhaps a little lower but not much! However, the optional seat is much more comfortable on long trips. At least for me!
@@jonfelty6063 Now I just have to find a dealer that has one!
the heated grips are an extra cost on the ninja, those don’t come standard
What year is the ninja?
This and the ninja1000 are the two top bikes I’d consider buying right now
I had a 2018 ninja 1000 and now the 2018 gsxs, the power is way better delivered on the Suzuki, the Kawa, the red line comes too quick and it feels much heavier and doesnt corner like the suzuki does.
With full touring weight the kickstand is suspect...
i'll admit having a GSXS1000F, from the side looks like fire. From the front Looks like a giant scooter.
Just test rode one today at a demo event in Florida. I have a GSX-R1000K6 that I'm tired of leaning forward on. This GT is what I wish my GSX-R was after a long days ride. I was totally impressed with the bike. Needless to say, I left a deposit for a black one.
Had mine in the UK since April. Gave up my GSX-R1000R for it. No regrets.
Also change the screen to black. Looks much better.
man guy who designed this must be a Gundam Fan. Look at those sharp LINES
I’ve had mine for a week. 200km of commuting to work. Already proving to be an excellent road bike.
Can you use it as a daily driver ?
@@MrManolis97 Yes I do. It’s very good
Do you do a lot of Highway riding? I'm considering getting one, but not sure and also concerned about the MPG
@@MaterialTheMovie if you’re riding highway you’ll get about 320km to a tank
Suzuki smashed it w this bike
*Ninja 1000SX has entered the chat*
it'd be nice if you could ride the 1000sx and we could get a direct comparison.
from other reviews, my personal takeaway is that there are three things better on the 1000gt: the quickshifter is supposedly smoother, the display is bigger and better laid out, lower seat height. but the 1000sx has better range, a remote preload on the rear, better power in the low and midrange, and better handling overall.
Did you say the old GSX-S line is junk? Guess one mans junk is one man's treasure, still love my 2029 GSX-S750. I do like that GSX-S1000GT.
Finally a colour TFT screen from Suzuki.
So what would you prefer, this bike or the ninja 1000sx?
We need a first ride on the Ninja 1000sx. I've been looking at both of these bikes and need your help deciding. Suzuki 1000gt+ or Nija 1000sx?🤔 Thanks
I have been watching reviews all around the world. Finally! Someone with some street credibility I can trust. I have been keeping my eye on this one
you know, i dont know of a single person who switches modes. we all just keep it in full power and your hand is the mode controller
b mode is just smoother for the street.
How is it so heavy. Riser bars, taller windscreen, wider seat. How is it 50 lbs more than a gsxr1000?
More like a Honda and less like a harely you know
PTSR is off the charts. Well-done Suzuki.
How does it compare to the ninja 1000sx?
BIG question (for me)- Which is "better"... this GT or an MT-10 (with windshield, seat and rack upgrades)? HELP!
Finally a good manufacturer again! About time!
I’ve been waiting for this review for a long time. Great bike.
Thank you chase!
If you're in A mode and you hit low gear 6000 revs she's a Gixxer . Beast mode. Just bought mine in candy red. Came from the ninja sx. Love this bike. You can change the screen to black which looks so much better.
awesome yes ! add some factory matched bags and it's a perfect all arounder
K5 Gixxer in dad cargo shorts go vrooooom
How tall are you Ghost?

Suzukis are more suited to shorter riders like myself, pretty much the opposite of Yamaha
@@ventisette. Unfortunately, Yamaha doesn't make an MT10 GT...
OC : Picked mine up two weeks ago, absolutely love it! Crazy fast.
Love this bike except one thing. A single tiny lowbeam headlight isn't going to make you visible enough to other drivers.
I got mine with panniers... (ohio), very much loving the bike. for me 5'8 150lbs, its a joy.
i rarely like touring motorcycles. but this one i kind of like. i dig.
great review your comments are very accurate - i had bought the black gt plus and its insane power
I ❤️ this shade of 💙
Looks similar to the new Katana!!
Carbon Black is best looking if you can afford the extras including rim decals. The wooden brakes still suck and while fixable with better pads and braided metal lines it is still what holds the GSX back in comparison to other more expensive bikes. I agree totally otherwise.
Suzuki be like: *here, have a touring that can go full monke at hight revs and make us proud boy*
Love my bike. A mode is stupid fast but hilarious. Some reviewers complained about soft brakes, honestly I changed the pads and levers and the breaks are perfect for me now.
In route to pick mine up now. Ordered it in April and it's finally arrived. Hope it's worth the 12hr trip and the wait.
Congrats bro! What color you end up picking?
The HWY pull chase is the CHASE WE LOVE. GSXR boy unleashed
This bike is a perfect blend of everything, a home run indeed!
Ive never ridden a bike or car with riding mode but i dont get it. Just gove me one good fuel map. When you own the bike you get used to it quickly.
OC Suzuki needs to make a 750 version of this
i seriously doubt they will
@@6kbps I think Suzuki is done with the 750cc bikes. They seem to be moving to the parallel twin
It looks like a GSX-R combined with a Ninja.
It’s a good looking bike. Maybe contender for my next bike.
Suzuki is starting to take the lead in automotive innovation.🏆
I tell you what sucks about this bike… go look at the blue that Europe gets and we don’t. Now that really sucks!
Definitely the worst part. Maybe for 2023 they'll switch up the blue?
Going to pick mine up tomorrow. Can't wait.
Bikes these days are just unreal in any variety but Suzuki has a place in me heart :)
I think the bike is gorgeous! I would love that color scheme on a Kawasaki
Good review of this sporty riding tourer. Nice to see Suzuki making a splash.
Heard this model's quick shifter is really good; how is it compared with models like new MT-09 or CB1000+?
Similar if not better. However, the overall package is much more geared for long riding. The CB is a fantastic machine just not as slippery through the wind.
Based on all reviews I've seen, this quickshifter is as good as it gets at any price.
Love this bike, colorway and all! Slap some bags on it and let's ride to the Westcoast!
Am I the only one seeing a Yamaha with Suzuki stickers? Love the bike though ! I would definitely check it in person ! amazing style. The tail is like you said a bit chunky. If they had made it with a GSXR tail it would be immensely good !
OC
I would love to see this market expand across all brands.
Just came from memory lane. Looking back at YummiR6! Glad to know you still make videos!!
This machine just looks amazing, I'm in love with this thing, booy!
Suzuki are pulling the GSXR1000 from the UK and EU due to emissions. From 2023 onwards the GSXS1000GT is the closest thing you'll get to a Gixxer thou from Suzuki. Weird.
Would be nice to know how much storage the test bikes have under the seat

How does it compare to the Ninja 1000?

Ha ha best review i’ve seen yet ! Love the enthusiasm and honest performance. Great camera angle too , so boring to watch only a cockpit view! I have one on order, hope it comes before summer runs out .😆
Disappointed that Suzuki changed cams and lost 10 hp from 2016-2019 models. Touring doesn’t have to mean boring
its emission related surely.
U won't notice it if u get the computer flashed. If at all in the first place.

It's still 150hp... 100hp on bike isn't even boring. You jaded as hell, dude...
I just got mine today and I’m loving it❤
I bought one of these and am currently breaking it in. Watching you ride this bike like its already broken in is sad.
A bike that knows it's for a some forty year old with back problems and still loves to go fast AF.
What about the new katana ?
Holy cow, production value is great. You rode past my apartment in Avalon. MUCH better than SRKcycles channel

Unfortunately, the bright blue isn't available in the US this year.
Great review. I think that's a terrific looking bike and all the better with the luggage on. I just like the full sport touring look.
OC: I was waiting for this review since last year.😉
OC: I think it looks great, very nice lines and it certainly does seem to be a heck of a lot of bike! What are your thoughts on this versus the Katana? A bit of a different class comparison, but it does seem like a reasonable train of thought. 😁
Love the bike, just a bit too heavy for me. Hope they have a GSX750S GT..
The 750 and 1k are the same weight.
I told ya on your last gsxs1000 gt video it would be fun. I got mine, pre ordered it back when announced and loving it.
