      Honestly I can’t remember if it does. I haven’t encouraged that scenario yet. Once the power is back on you can check the days and temp by holding the menu button. Just adjust with the +/- buttons if you need to. I always write on the calendar or put it in my phone when I start and when the hatch is expected, just in case.

    • @jbones2121

      You’ll get a ton of answers on this so I’ll just tell you what I do - I leave them in the incubator until they are dry. Usually a few hours, and then I move them to the brooder. They will fluff out when they are dry. I do this to give the other chicks room to hatch. It will get crowded fast with 15-22 eggs hatching.

    • @hillarywright7965
      @hillarywright7965 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've heard to leave them alone for a day or two to let the rest hatch. Otherwise you will shrink wrap the rest and they will die...

    • @jbones2121
      @jbones2121  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup, I've read that online as well. This is what I mean by a thousand different answers. I took them out as they were dry and the other eggs were not hatched yet. Never had an issue and they all hatched. But that's not to say it will be the case every time. Obviously someone shrink wrapped their chicks in order to come up with the "leave them till they all hatch" method.

    Need to explain the vent more. Should it be open all the way, closed what?

    • @jbones2121
      @jbones2121  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The vent is used to control the humidity level. So open or closed is up to the humidity. 50-55% days 1-18. 70-75% days 18-hatch. Adjust the vent as needed.

  • @Samboat616

    I'm trying to hatch pigeon eggs. For pigeons it's 18 days. 3 days before hatch, it goes into lockdown and the humidity is supposed to be 70%. I removed the B plug, opened the vent all the way and added water to both A and B, however, I have not been able to stabilize the 70%. I have added more warm water to the A and B to the point that I cannot add anymore and I don't want to risk the eggs by removing the lid to drain out the water if to much was added. Any suggestions on how to stabilize the humidity at 70%?

    • @jbones2121
      @jbones2121  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are are trying to raise the humidity you would close the vent. If you are trying to lower you would open the vent. Raising is a lot easier than lowering in my experience. But you are trying to lower it and the vent is completely open you can use a turkey baster (just something I have used) and suck out some water from the fill points. If you are trying to raise it and closing the vent does not work the only option I can think of is to add a little container of water in to the incubator. I’ve never had a problem trying to raise the humidity, mine has always been keeping it lower.

    • @jbones2121
      @jbones2121  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You adjust the humidity with the vent. And make sure just side A is filled with water. You can also adjust how much water you fill in there. For example if the vent is wide open and the humidity is still high then don’t add so much water. But you’ll want to monitor it more so it doesn’t run out of water.

    • @jbones2121
      @jbones2121  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can try to suck it out with something like a turkey baster. If the humidity is where it’s supposed to be probably wouldn’t hurt to leave it. It will deplete quickly I would think, then just add to A only. Just keep an eye on it because it could take several hours for the humidity to rise.

      If it’s cool weather outside and raining, like say 50-60 and rainy outside then it will get higher. There’s really nothing you can do but open the vent. If you are desperate you can remove some water from the tray. Take a turkey baster and suck it out or something similar but not all of it because then you will have zero humidity. Doing this is very tricky because the humidity will fluctuate like crazy with just a little water taken out. So you really have to check it constantly. I’ve hatched with the humidity never going below mid 60’s the whole time.

      Assuming you are hatching chickens - day 1 - 18 a humidity of 48-55% is fine. To achieve this use the red plug and plug up side B of the water port, only fill side A. It will take a few hours to stabilize. You can also make slight adjustments to the grey air port on top of the unit to get your desired humidity. Adjust it and wait a few hours for it to stabilize. Day 19-21 remove the red plug from B side and fill B side with water. Keep A & B side full. This will bring the humidity up to around 70% for the hatch, you also want to open the grey air vent on top of the unit fully at this time.

Make sure the top unit is setting on the bottom correctly. Make sure it’s on and set at 99.5 degrees. Where do you have it placed? In your home? Outside somewhere? It shouldn’t have a problem getting to the desired humidity. If you fill both A & B reservoirs at the start you won’t be able to reach the necessary humidity on day 18. My NR 360 is majorly defective after 3 successfully hatches! It is trash now! When I set up for my 4th hatch the turner never turned on and I had to call Manna Pro for help. They gave me instructions to get it to turn on. Before this 4th hatch attempt, the turner always worked automatically after just pluging the unit in and testing it to make sure it was turning according to the directions. The next problem that occurred on this 4th hatch attempt, after allowing the incubator to go through the warm up stage, the temperature and humidity readings on the incubator's thermometer/humidity reader was off. The humidity keep jumping up and down from 45% - 65%. The temperature inside the unit was reading between 97.4° and 98.7° even though the computer on the unit was reading 99.5°. The unit never warmed up to the 99.5° needed for hatching. I finally got the humidity to achieve a desired % but I could not get the unit to respond to the instructions given for temperature adjustments. I pressed and held the "MENU" button for 3 seconds only but the 99.5° on the unit never started to flash after the beep. It would not respond to me pressing the "+" button. The only thing it did do was show me the days to hatch. I called MP AGAIN. They asked for my copy of my receipt when I purchased the incubator in December of 2021, and if within a year, they would send a refund. MPro said they would send me a refund by mid-June, 2022. This was appreciated but my once healthy 18 eggs that were showing the very early stage of life and ready to be incubated have now all died! What a disappointment after collecting, setting, doing the final check on the eggs, and several days of aggrevation trying to desperately work to get the incubator right to no avail! I am quite upset at my loss. I much rather have had the wonderful thrilling experience of incubating my chick's than getting a refund for what...to start the process all over again. I now have to go through the daunting task of trying to find a truly reliable small incubator and start all over with the egg preparation. This will take at least over 3 months before I am able to incubate chicks again! Can anyone suggest a really reliable small incubator? The Nurture Right 360° may have worked for 3 hatches but I was expecting a much better longevity on this unit. I suggest that anyone wanting to purchase one of these NR360...think again and read all the comments on every unit that you are contemplating on buying.

      You can’t get the light to work? As far as I know just pushing the button should do the trick. You can also use a flashlight in a dark room to candle the eggs.

      @@gahillbilly6566 is this the first day you started it? The menu button will show “D-XX” for remaining days left. If you hold the Menu button for 3 seconds you will be able to adjust the temp and days. So hitting it just once real quick should show you the days left to hatch. I keep track via a calendar just as backup.

    The temp is still 100 ???

      @jbones2121  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, 99-102 the entire time. 99.5 is ideal. but it can fluctuate a tiny bit higher.

      You might look into the weight difference between a parrot and a Jumbo Coturnix quail. Then, watch the quail incubation videos (maybe check out the YT channels... Slightly Rednecked and Living Traditions ... they’re both great and informative channels... they have great shows on quail and might answer questions in chat?).

    while this unit has rave reviews and the USA price point is really good, just try to SOURCE the item in 2020. One source doesn't ship to Canada, the Canadian source is a scam setup and asks 3 times the price, so what's going on here??? And where exactly is "the manuf>' and I'm NOT talking about the retailer.

      I ordered one the other day from amazon.com istead of.ca. It was about $100 cheaper. But yes still pretty pricey.

      Press the + and - buttons together to test the turning. May have to hold the buttons. And make sure the tray is installed correctly. Maybe power it down and back on, unplug it plug it in. I’ve never had that problem.
