Tip for engines, (or anyone who wants to mess with elects/wires) Deconstruct batteries, and construct them. It will level up your electrical really quickly up to level 55 so you don't randomly get shocked when messing with the wires/repairing.

Not sure why you trash the barsuk, with a mechanic at lvl 3 you can upgrade the hull as if it were a tier 2 sub and later down the line (at lvl 8 mechanic-iron storm talent) you can upgrade it fully as if it were a tier 3. This bad boy carried me and my friend all the way to where we could directly buy a tier 3 sub.
have you tried the EK mods? imo the best mods in the workshop, adding all vanillaish feeling weapons and utilities that seem like they could be in the base game. also if you want tourture try barotraumatic mods, increases the difficulty like 10 fold. and alot of workshop subs are really good. the IROH is probably the best all round
ah yes, The EK mods, I love removing all difficulty from the game by being able to place 7 coilguns on every corner of my submarine, how about meaningful upgrades aswell? and yes, pick the iroh, the sub that can be manned by one person and never ever flood because it has an ungodly amount of armor that not even an endworm can penetrate, how many crutches does one need I wonder?
