    That's very helpful! Please also make a video on SOPs, as they're very important in making a significant impact on admissions committees.

    Thanks a lot for this video. If I get a positive response from professor and he agree for an interview then what is the chance for selection? In your case, how many interviews you gave and in which you get finally selected? Please let us know for more clarity. Thank you

      If you are getting called for an interview, it is a high chance that they are interested on you, and most of the cases in USA (only if the university have direct admission policy), they takes (very high chance), but sometime in Europe if there is official application process and you get a interview call, then you have to complete with few other applicants (2/3 for 1 position), so it is luck and competitive, depending on how your interview goes on and research goals matches.

    Hey! Thank you for this. I want to say if someone is not from a prestigious institute in India and want to pursue a phd in some highly prestigious University abraod . How should I make my self stand out and make it look serious from my side while mailing to the professor. I do not want to be the monotonous student he/she rejects straight away. If you can suggest anything.

      Try to build research experience from your side, prestigious institute is not the main goal....they care more about what your profile looks like ...I am also from a NAAC D grade university.

    Hi Aditya, your videos are really helpful.
    I am also looking for a PhD Microbiology with focus of antimicrobial resistance. I am currently working as a Clinical Microbiologist for The Fleming Fund Country Grant. Appreciate if you could share the list of professors working in the AMR field to whom you sent these cold emails.
    Thanks very much,
    Saba

      Thank you,. I don't have a list of these professors...you can check my "how I got PhD abroad" th-cam.com/video/gf9VZJkl6eY/w-d-xo.html, there I have shown how to search and list out professors from Google scholar and University websites

      Thanks a lot! I would also like to know which sub speciality of AMR are you going to opt for in your PhD?

    • @researchlife
      @researchlife  ปีที่แล้ว

      I still have not decided but probably will work on finding novel signalling pathways involved in antibiotic resistance mechanisms in pathogenic microbes.

      Sounds fun. All the best!
      I'm aspiring for something related to drug discovery (Actinomycetes research) or alternate therapies (anti sense oligonucleotides).

    Hey, is it essential to reach out to professors before applying to phd programs in the USA? Also, if one receives a negative response, say 'We do not have funding for.......OR not taking PhD students this year.' Is it best to skip mentioning those professors in SOP?

    • @researchlife
      @researchlife  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not essential to reach out to professors for the US, and can directly apply for the program. One professor can have no funding but others can have even they maybe haven't replied to you. If all the interested profs have responded no, then don't apply there. Also you can just mention name of all the your interested prof.s in SOP, just don't put that person's name on first.

      @@researchlife thank you for replying so quickly. I am so confused on how to choose universities to apply to (apart from the research interest basis). Like which universities are within reach and which aren't. ex- I want to apply to a program at Harvard or Brown because their research aligns with my interest and/or experience but I don't know if I am aiming too high with it. Similarly, I don't want to aim lower. These applications are expensive so you cannot just apply everywhere. What do we do in this situation??

    • @researchlife
      @researchlife  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on your profile (research experience, academic grades etc.)...you can watch my 1st video of the channel to understand this. Also Harvard University has no fees to apply in biology during my time. At many universities you can ask for a fee waiver.

      @@researchlife i watched that video and it was very informative. Thank you for making it. Although I was left with one question- Do i need to get my transcripts and degree certificate evaluated by WES or something? They are all in english though.

    • @researchlife
      @researchlife  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @tamannaantil7691 no you don't need to. Even if some university asm for that, you can contact the admission committee that you don't want to
