This channel got me into warhammer, and the video was the apocalypse between these guys and the Tyranids at 5000 points, and it was because of the ranks of guard repelling waves of Xenos that I stayed. I now collect Imperial guard (1500 points), crimson fists (3000 points), tau (1000), eldar (2000), chaos space marines (1500), and about 1000 points of assorted imperium. Started when I was 9, am 15 now, have gotten 6 of my friends into the game, thanks for introducing me to this awesome game :)

Although i use the cadian models, i play valhallan rules (the fluff for my made up regiment inspires massed infantry and tank assaults) and i used the krieg command squad from FW for the commander and his body gaurd.

FW still sells the Medusa. The Colossus never had a model, but FW sells the Imperial Bombard, which is exactly the same as a Colossus, but has a chassis based on a leman russ rather than a chimera.
I would love it if they re did the guard range and add more regiments options. Also would love to be able to buy the Tanith... i want Guant and Corbecand others so bad...

If you need a TO&E for a Cadian Mech unit...You can find it in the Imp Armour book Vol 3 Taros Campaign. (First release of that book. The second edition of the Taros Campaign book does not have it.) Hope that helps.

Adam Matthews the last time I used the tank in game was the Apoc game we did vs the Eldar... the Macharius is very rare tank in the lore... but it’s good in the game. May use it one day. 👍

Oh, and of course, kasrs are Cadian cities in Low Gothic, so the Cadian elite are called Kasr-kin. The pronunciation is kinda like "castle-kin" but you switch the "le" with an "r" sound, and the "s" sounds a bit more like a "z" from what I heard.

Not a "real" player of Warhammer (I use badass cardboard miniatures instead of buying them, it's infinitely cheaper). I have almost all the faction at over 10k. But I must admit that an army with like 30 tanks grinding the opponent to dust is the most fun I had (destroyed the craftworlds)

Hi James, in 9th do you tend to use the dagger of Tusakh? I’m trying to work out if it has to stick to the standard strategic reserves rules or if the bearer and unit can come in on any board edge in turn 1? How do you play it? Thanks

Its so frustrating seeing my dads cadian army. A handful of infantry squads but about 20 heavy weapons teams. I tried to explain that in the rules there are certain limitations, for example an army cant be 1 rifle squad with 8 company commander models, or 2 infantry squads with 8 mortar teams and 3 commissars. He said it doesnt matter, they look cool and he spent a fortune having chynese people paint them expertly overseas.
Only 2 sergeant models, no vox casters, but 6 rocket launcher teams. 🤦🏻it physically hurts walking past his display cabinet.

I’m a little late to the party, but where did you find your basilisk gun crew and earth shaker ammo?
Hey y’all, I’m new to the Table Top Game and I’m looking to build a 9th edition Imperial Guard Army, I figured I’d buy 3 start collecting! kits so I can have 3 infantry squads with 3 auto cannons attached to each squad, 3 leman russes, 1 being a tank commander, I then wanted to buy a Basilisk, a commander squad, and and a heavy weapon squad of mortars. Me and some friends r trying to start at 1000 pt armies, I think that’s is just under 1000 but if someone can confirm that for me plz let me know
Get an app called Battlescribe, which is extremely useful in list-building. Its a bit odd to use, but you can find instructions online. You can find PDFs of codexes and the Rules, but if you decide you enjoy the hobby you should probably get the hard copies.
Next, check out independent game stores that carry GW. Their stuff is usually cheaper than what you will find in the actual store -- about 15% cheaper, usually.
Also, the paint and brushes from GW are good, but not necessary. If you're starting out, just get a set of cheap brushes from wal-mart to start with. For paint, you can use Vallejo, Army painter, etc., just try to get good miniature-painting paints. The regular acrylics they sell at wal-mart usually won't cut it and will be very difficult to paint with.
Finally, ebay is your friend. When you need specific models or are looking to get a bunch of stuff cheap, go there. For starting off, the box sets are preferable and will give you experience in modeling and building, which you can carry over to the stuff you buy from ebay to patch them up or convert them.

12:35 is this just for show? Or are there rules for upgrading to tank busting? Like -2 save roll for tanks and armored units...and if so, do you actually need the upgrade to use it, or can you just pretend? Obviously, I have never played, just a lorewhore...
