Thanks for the explanation Tony! I only knew the sustain pedal. And definitely not the half pedaling… the mechanical explication was really helpful for me 👍🎹

Thanks Franz! Now that I know what the pedals do …. Using all of them will be a much larger challenge! I’ve already caught myself using the wrong one for sustain a couple times 😁

To be honest I never miss half pedalling on my piano pedal, learning to use sustain pedal was challenging enough for me

Totally understand; I'm hoping with the pedal I can gradually start to notice the half pedaling in my play as I practice. I will probably never use the other 2 pedals, although I have seen some interesting videos where people have made a custom cable to allow the other 2 pedals to be used for starting and stopping rhythms and for rhythm fills (basically a custom cable that connects the left 2 pedals to the expression and sustain pedal port). That would be super cool for me.

@@manu-singh Yes I think you can do that (I never use sheet music; just chord charts)

Is that keyboard labeled wrong? I thought it starts as A0, B0, C1, D1, E1, etc. But your diagram has a C0. I thought C4 is middle C, but you have middle C listed as C3.

I’ve seen it both ways actually (weird I know). The display in this video is coming from a screen capture of an app called “MIDIculous” on my iPad, so they’ve chosen to start at C0 instead of C1. My old Yamaha P125 manual starts numbering at C0 as well; my Casio manuals started at C1. Just 2 different systems I guess.
